  1. AP Sources: Navy SEALs Raid Somali Town By KIMBERLY DOZIER AP Intelligence Writer Associated Press A U.S. official tells The Associated Press that Navy SEALs have raided a Somali coastal town looking for an al-Qaida suspect in connection with the Nairobi shopping mall attack, but did not get their target. Two U.S. officials who discussed the raid spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to be identified. One of the officials describes the raid as a capture operation against a high-value target. That official says U.S. forces engaged al-Shabab militants and inflicted some casualties, but that no U.S. service members were harmed. In Washington, Pentagon spokesman George Little is confirming that the U.S. has been involved in a counterterrorism operation against a known al-Shabab terrorist, but he is not providing details. Al-Shabab militants killed at least 67 people at Nairobi's Westgate Mall.

  3. Mombasa riots after Kenyan cleric Ibrahim Omar killed At least one person has been killed in Kenya's port of Mombasa during clashes between police and those angered at the killing of a Muslim cleric. At least four other people were wounded during the disturbances and a church was also set alight. The cleric Ibrahim "Rogo" Omar and three other people were shot dead in Mombasa as they drove home on Thursday night after preaching. It comes two weeks after the deadly attack on a Nairobi shopping centre. Somali Islamist group al-Shabab, which is part of al-Qaeda, said its militants stormed the Westgate mall in the capital in retaliation for Kenya's military involvement in Somalia. Mr Omar's killing is similar to that of Aboud Rogo Mohammed last year, which sparked days of rioting by Muslims in Mombasa. Mr Rogo was alleged to have links with al-Shabab and some Muslims accused the Kenyan security forces of killing him - an allegation they strongly denied. Click
  4. Mooge. You can have own its differences with Sheekh Xasan, but to think that Uhuru was only referring to him is simply dumb.
  5. Mooge. In what world do you live in? Do you seriously Have you read or seen what the man said?
  6. ^There are only few regions ( I am not talking about tribes) with the quintessential Somali look.

  11. Brute. If you want reference, say so ninyahow. lol@innocent, when you were so ready to convict the Somali Brit and in fact, you and your homeboy seem ready to convict anyone, you will believe anything. In any case, let me know if you are interested. lol@Gheelle.T Since NGONGE retired, scripts (and not funny type) have flooded the place.

  15. Gheelle.T I don't condone these attacks or any attacks against civilians. My views on AS has changed the moment they started terrorizing the Somali public. Now, there are the two things that needs to be said, one being that Ethiopia and to lesser extent Kenya have been part and parcel of the Somali problem. They have contributed immensely to the suffering of the Somali specially in the case of Ethiopia whose invasion of Somalia and merciless bombardment of my hometown caused thousands of death. Now, any decent person would acknowledge the damage these countries have inflicted on Somalis. But here you have people making excuses for every invader while shedding tears for every foreign victim. What's tragic is these people who accuse AS killing Somalis (rightfully so) support forces that continue to destabilize Somalia. A good example is the many forces in Kismayo who killed each other and are ready to kill each other. In fact, so many Solers who supposedly want to AS gone have celebrated the death and destruction of Somalis while boasting their warlord is stronger than the other, warlords who garner support from our neighbors. Lastly, our neighbors do not have Somalia's interest at heart. It is rather naive to think Kenya and Ethiopia would like to see a viable Somali. If anyone on this board is sincere, they wouldn't have fooled themselves into believing that somehow the world is interested in helping Somalia, least of all our neighbors. The tragic event in Nairobi puts every Somali on notice, continue to support factions in which case. you are at the mercy of lunatics and foreigners or support your Government. I won't accept the hypocrisy of condemning Al-Shabab while supporting foreigners who murdered Somalis and undermining the very Government that could possibly lift Somalia out of its misery. They are hard choices to be made. As you are one of the few people who know me in real life, I think you would admit, my stance has always been clear. It might be not popular but it's valid. If I were to go with the changing tides without any critical assessment, I guarantee I would have followed "adeer Yeey" and justified every bit what the Ethiopians did to our people.
  16. I will get back to you later Gheelle. And for the record,I didn't justify this attack.
  17. lol@Ngonge, a mole to flush out AS supporters like you. Brute. I apologize first, I don't know you where you stand on Somali politics, but whatever you stance is, throw your support behind the Government that's if you are sincere about the demise of Al-Shabab. What is wrong with the people hoping for Al-Shabab to die is they do everything to keep it alive hence your tribaland supporters and warlord supporter crying about AS yet undermining the central government.
  18. We seriously miscalculated the politics of the era and more importantly, we never laid a proper foundation for a stable state.
  19. Somalia. If truth be told, nobody knows who outnumbers who in these regions. The only thing we can be sure of is those with most guns and foreign backers claim to be largest group. Somalis make wild claims about the numerical strength of any given tribe. And with regions so diverse, it will be hard to decide numbers.
  20. Somalia. This particular community lives in all those regions, they have as much right to claim these regions as Madoobes of this world hence the insanity of tribal federalism.
  21. Federalism in the way people here seem to understand will keep us in conflict. Tribal federalism will not work in the South.
