Options? What options? Somaliland is cooking a nuclear bomb in its backyard. This will only turn into nasty tribal warfare. -

Funny you say that, during my trip to NFD in 2011, I saw Kenyans, who work for UNCHR and NGO's, referring to the land as Somaliland. -

Somalia: Wartorn Football Premier League Plays Again BY MOHAMED SHEIKH NOR, 10 NOVEMBER 2013 The Somalia Premier League officially reopened at the weekend in the Somali capital, Mogadishu. Huge numbers of spectators turned up at the world-class stadium to watch Somali Premier League football for the first time in almost two decades. Top government officials, football federation executive committee members and prominent businesspeople attended a colourful ceremony at the Banadir Stadium to mark the relaunch of the country's Premier League. The two-decade-long war dealt a blow to professional football in Somalia. But an African Union-led offensive in 2009 drove Islamic insurgents out of the capital, Mogadishu. Al-Shebab - who are they? Islamist Al-Shebab fighters banned the mixing of the sexes and the playing or watching of football games. It's incredible to think then that a large number of women were among thousands of spectators who watched the match last weekend between Heegan and Gaadiidka squads. Last weekend's match is yet another sign that life is returning to normal in the capital. Vendors are moving back into the central market, and people dine in outdoor cafes. But the risk of violence remains high. Bombs are detonated regularly. Football is a tool for peace-building in Somalia, said Somali Football Federation Secretary General Abdi qani Said Arab. "The message is football is the only tool to use, people to bring together and my message is football is peace," he told RFI. "I am calling all the people, love football, come and see and to support your team and watch the game friendly and disciplinary." Two foreign players also played in the Premier League match. Africa Cup of Nations 2013 "The atmosphere is amazing, the games are good, every team is playing it's limit, I think the league is very good league," commented one of them, Marcel Samson from neighbouring Kenya. "After two decades finally Somalia at least we have peace." The Banadir stadium was recently renovated by Fifa. Artificial turf has been laid, new stands have been constructed and VIP boxes installed. Abdi Hajji Goo, an avid football fan who travelled several hundred kilometres to be at the Banadir stadium, was very impressed by the refurbishment. "There is a big change happened in Somalia, I am very happy to attend and watch Somalia Premier League at such beautiful stadium," he enthused. The match ended with Heegan beating Gaadiidka 3-2. Even though Gaadiidka lost, the atmosphere in the stadium was overwhelmingly positive. Football was the overall winner, as it has the power to bring peace, development and unity to Somalia. http://allafrica.com/stories/201311100136.html

The institution is bigger than individual, our homeboy will be learn that very soon. Besides, in America you are owned by those finance your campaign, and not by silly relatives.

Somalia President arrives in Jubaland on first visit 31 Oct 31, 2013 - 2:12:55 PM KISMAYO, Somalia Oct.31, 2013 (Garowe Online) – The Somali Federal Government President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Thursday arrived in Jubaland capital of Kismayo on first two-day visit since being elected as the president in the country’s latest presidential contest in September 2012, Garowe Online reports. Mohamud’s delegation including Interior and National Security Minister Abdikarin Hussein Gulled was received at Kismayo airport by Jubaland Leader Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Madobe) and hundreds of well-wishers waving Somalia and Jubaland state flags who greeted the President’s delegation with Somali traditional dances. Before driving into Jubaland Presidential Palace where President Mohamud is holding talks with Madobe and other Jubaland officials, dozens of Jubaland forces saluted both Somalia and Jubaland leaders at the airport. Madobe who firstly addressed the media said that President Hassan’s trip would be a historic and thanked him for paying visit to Kismayo port city. Somalia President told that he is aiming to spread the message of peace and consolidate Jubaland peace process in regard to Jubba agreement which was signed in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa under the auspices of IGAD with Ethiopia as the chair in August. Sources close to Mogadishu-based Federal Government confirmed to Garowe Online that Mohamud is expected to discuss the implementation of Jubba agreement, the termination of all the standing differences between the Somali government and Jubaland and to include former war lord Col. Barre Hirale whose militias were pushed out of Kismayo in June in the upcoming Mogadishu reconciliation conference with Jubaland leadership. Kismayo suffered from years of sporadic clashes over the control of the lucrative seaport and Jubba region’s fertile hinterlands. GAROWE ONLINE
