  1. Somealien, actually they are unbelievers... They are Kafirs. Believers are Mumins and Christians are not mumins, so that makes them kafirs. People of the book does not mean “believers” (i.e. mumin); People of the Books specifies only that they follow a religion which has it's origins in divine scripture...... And the hadith that says apostates can be killed is: Abdullah bin Masud narrated that the Messenger of Allah, salla Allah u alihi wa sallam, said : "The blood of a Muslim may not be legally spilt other than in one of three [instances] : the married person who commits adultery; a life for a life; and one who forsakes his religion and abandons the community ." (It was related in the books of Bukhari and Muslim) .....but i got it from 40 ahadith Other Hadith about killing them: NarratedIbn 'Abbas; Allah's messenger salla Allah u alihi wa sallam, said,"kill whoever changes his religion." (reported by Al Bukhari)... but i got it from bulughul miraam. The Quran statement that says that People of the Book that don't except Islam are kafirs is: In Surah 98 (Al-Baiyinah) we read: 1. Those who disbelieve, among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, were not going to depart (from their ways) until there should come to them Clear Evidence,- 2. An apostle from Allah, rehearsing scriptures kept pure and holy: 3. In it are laws right and straight 4. Nor did the People of the Book make schisms, until after there came to them Clear Evidence. 5. And they have been commanded no more than this: To worship Allah, offering Him sincere devotion, being true (in faith); to establish regular prayer; and to practice regular charity; and that is the Religion Right and Straight. 6. Those who disbelieve among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures. ~kind of interesting...
  2. Ok, am tired of Muslims making excuses for heretics, apostates, kafirs, and hypocrites. Am also tired of Muslims trying to “present” Islam in a way that will be likable to kafirs and hypocrites. Tell it like it is! When something is Haram, it’s Haram! When the Quran says something, don’t try explaining it away. Islam is Islam; people should take it or leave it... but none of this “my understanding your understanding” inanity. Also, trying to “explain” to people that something that is done in a Muslim country or by some Muslim or Muslims is “not Islamic” and sometimes those things are Islamic, but maybe that are just unusual to the kafirs and reviled by the hypocrites. Some examples of things that I’ve noticed Muslims like to apologize for are: *the Taliban and the things that Taliban did in Afghanistan (i.e. annihilating the Buddha statues, make woman were a burqa, force people to pray, and apply Quranic punishments) *Muslims that fight (if it’s Jehad or even if it’s not) *Quran statements and Hadith that say something bad about Jews or that call for Muslims to not make walaa with kafirs *Anything, anything, aaanyyyything!!!! related to woman and shareeca *Calling kafirs kafirs or mushriks... I noticed for some reason kafirs don’t like to be called kafirs. And so on... All am saying is, if Islam says something that the kafirs or munafiqs don’t like, there is no reason to say it in a way that they might like or to lie to them…. Just tell it like it is!
  3. this is so s tu pid .... what business does this queer have talking about religion... someone needs to remind her that if she doesn't like islam, she doesn't have to call herself a Muslim.
  4. Also AIDS is not just spread through zina, although that is the most common way. If people are ignorant about the illness you will have people getting it through marriage and kids being born with it. I think the discussions about condoms and AIDS are very different. I mean the discussion about the status of condoms in the shareeca and the discussion about how to stop the HIV epidemic from devastating Somalia as it has devastated other nations are different. Although they are related, they concern different parts of the society. The shareeca issue is for the wadaado to talk about whereas the HIV epidemic needs to be handed by the political authorities (where they exist) and the people responsible for public health and education.
  5. Giving people condoms is not gonna protect them from HIV/AIDS.... I agree with those wadaado, but they should take steps to solve the problem by educating people about what HIV/AIDS is. I think thus far the only thing that's been keeping Somali save from the HIV/AIDS Epidemic has been the higher sexual morals of the Somalis compared to the other nations in the region. The best way to stay save from this thing is to educate the people about it. When people know about it, they will not even think about having sex with an untested person.
  6. It seems more and more these days the lines are being drawn very clearly between the Muslims and the west. France is making a mistake by banning the Hijab; but we shouldn’t be surpriced by this at all. Many “muslim” counties already ban the Hijab or some specific interpretations of the Hijab for woman. All this for just reinforces the view I thought these people had towards religion…
  7. SmithNwestern, man am laughing sooooo hard, wallahi you got the best picture man. rofl am crying over here man, from laughing so hard.
  8. It seems the whole worlds is basically forgotten that little country. Letting the Russians do whatsoever they want. The war is going on for 4 years now. It’s really sad . . . But wrongs like those don’t just go unpunished, the Russians are going to pay. It’s interesting to note that the West and UN are saying nothing, nothing at all. Which goes to prove (if more evidence was needed) that as long as it’s Muslims that are being exterminated no one cares. For any one who believes all the bullschnit coming out of the UN and West about human rights and freedom, just let them look at Chechnya which is happening right now, right this minute.
  9. Alisomali, I agree with you. It seems to me suicide bombing or Shaheed operations as people like to call them are becoming a bit over done. I mean sometimes they are not really called for. Sometimes they are a valuable tactic, like in the case in 2000 when the truck bomb in Chechnya against the Russian base killed 1500 Russian troops. It’s interesting how now non-Palestinians are starting to use it. Like in Afghanistan they are using them. Strangely even in Chechnya now it’s become a strongly relied on tactic… In Chechnya even woman are carrying them out, which is a very very new innovation. Really what concerns me is not that tactic itself, but the targets. Muslims need to really take alot of care to limit civilian casualties. Killing civilians is the best way to lose friends and gain enemies.
  10. think_tank, you make a really good point. What you said is basically the ahlu-sunna refutation of the philosophers. The philosophers put reason above revelation, where as the Muslims believe revelation is the highest source of knowledge. Then they start talking about things they have no way of knowing. Yet there is among men such a one as disputes about God, without Knowledge, without Guidance, and without a Book of Enlightenment. (alquran al kareem, suratul xaj ayat 8)
  11. I would think they were Materialists. Check this site out: http://www.muslimphilosophy.com/
  12. Bashir Goth mixed up many things in this article that have nothing to do with each other. Seems to me just another propaganda attack on the religion disguised as an attack on “Wahabism”.
  13. ...Ciid was so much more fun when I was on the receiving end of the ciid money.
  14. "Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries likely would be attracted to Praying Razanne, who comes complete with a long hijab and modest prayer gown. " hehehe.. This reminded me of an article I read about the KSA banning Barbie and calling her an "evil Jewish doll". http://www.usatoday.com/news/offbeat/2003-09-10-barbie_x.htm
  15. These type of things always get me so wrong... MAPLE TREE (Independent) no ordinary person, full of imagination and originality, shy and reserved, ambitious, proud, self-confident, hungers for new experiences, sometimes nervous, has many complexities, good memory, learns easily, complicated love life, wants to impress. let's get started: * Independent --- As in loner? *no ordinary person --- John Dow * full of imagination and originality --- This is a total lie... I am never original, and I have no imagination. * shy and reserved --- Another lie * ambitious --- Keep the lies coming. * proud --- as in no inferiority complex? * self-confident --- Sure * hungers for new experiences---Bored? * sometimes nervous --- Is that a unique quality? * has many complexities --- What's that suppose to mean? * good memory --- The biggest lie of all... I would forget my name if people didn't call me by it. * learns easily --- I would like to think so...but maybe that's my pride talking (see above) * complicated love life --- That might be true... IF I HAD ONE * wants to impress --- I hope this one isn't true...
  16. I don't see a website, the link got removed... Sophist, interesting reply... Jalee Liqaaye; you and me we're on the same page dude... But I don't think Somalis have become liberal, I think they were always liberal, seems to me they are actually becoming conservative... Anyway, whether or not these ladies are Somali, it seems to me you'll are holding Somalis to way too high a moral standard... personally, I expect anything from anyone. Somealien, it's good to question... there are a lot of how do you say atypical Islamic prohibitions (atypical in light of what we maybe accustom to)... Nafta, good observation on the changing mode of criticism, but there is nothing wrong with negatively criticizing them. Maybe some people feel it's wrong and needs rectification.
  17. I haven't seen it... and from what everyone's saying, I don't think I will... unless someone else rents it and i have nothing to day, in which case I'll watch it... By the way, is there a 15-minute orgy scene in Revolutions also? ...I love replying to outdated posts
