  1. thanx for the reminder rahima!
  2. jazaallahkara brother and may allah grant us all the wish of visiting in our life times, ameen ps i am hoping to go to umra soon insha-allah, maybe in the two weeks i have off in the new year, any one here wishing to do the same?
  3. PPl are different, are brought up differently, grow up differently, mature, develop they own take on issues and communicate this in they own unique way. Now if we all thought the same and had the same opinions on matters, acted the same, responded the same. Maan we would like robots. So what we dont agree on politics, when a person disagrees with u its because he/she is from this tribe or that part of the country. When they agree with u then its, oh they are thinking independently and are rational in their reasons why. Give me a break bruv!!!!!!! "we (most of us) think with our clans, not independently; we relate the sympathies of our clans, but not that of other side; we arrive at convictions, but they are drawn from partial view of the matter at hand..."
  4. lol@gediid, ka yar ka gale ninyoho Wages for unskilled workers in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, in the north, which now considers itself independent of Somalia, are twice the rate in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city. Pro-somalia posters are surfing the net in search of articles written by kafurs who have their own angenda on such issues with the hope of finding small issues which can support their argument against Somaliland when in truth they are not in a position to argue. Keep it tho, this is entertaining!
  5. 1 piece of advice, just dont get on the underground at rush and in the heat of summer!!! U will be sweating buckets!!!!!!
  6. maan dont even get me started!!!!!!! The level of hypocracy coming from the pro-unification crew is amazing. As Bashi put it :"southerners gradually came to dominate the new state's economic and political life--a hegemony that bred a sense of betrayal and bitterness among northerners" 1) The concentration of business and commerce in the south meant that southerners dominated the economics of somalia while at the same time imprisoning wealthy northern business men who had enough clout to be able to influence certain markets. 2) The political life dominated by the south was straight up DICTATORSHIP aint gonna get into another pointless argument (i think the faraxs in the merfish have more sense and passion about our homeland than many on here) ps my house is in order, is yours????? thought so!
  7. shyhem, baby boy aint got nothin to do with what a somali youth is facing, there might be a few similarities. Coming accross many youths on a regular basis who have all these problems, the majority i feel want to achieve something for themselves but get cought up in a cycle of bad freinds, the harsh reality of society (post school society not very freindly), b-boy image, girls, crime etc etc. Many of these do NOT come from broken homes, many of them are mama boys turned thugs due to peer pressure (attention seeker types). But when u ask these youths they like oh it wasnt my fault, this happened. Like a typical somali we are never to blame and blame others. They dont listen (only a few do) untill they see and admit that they aint goin nowhere, thats when they can start thinking more positively about the future.
  8. Elections in Somalia? Looks like the legacy of democracy in Somaliland is bearing fruit in the south, long may it continue. There is a tendancy amongst us all that we do not believe in certain things untill it is demonstrated to us that it works. I aint hating and by no means trying to be negative, but still hope all is well in the end, the catching up process has begun then. Somaliland is near enough the finish line with regard to democracy while Somalia still has maybe another 4 laps of the 800m track, then we may end up in the same place!!! Good Luck!!
  9. lets just hope there is some sort of system or infrastructure to enable us to re-build wherever! Questions like: Where will the money come from? (private/public) How will this be collected? Who decides where to re-build? (the govt or tribal leaders?) What is the decision process in relation to which contractor will do the work? Do we have the patience? (we all want to re-build our towns/villages/cities but can we wait for the money to be distributed?) all these questions will need to be answered if and when a re-building process takes place!
