  1. Muranka dhaafa. Marriage is not an easy matter. Soomaalidu waxay tidhaa 'waa god mugdi ah gacan la gal'. As many said, the best thing is try your best and pray more and more and more to Allah for help. With that said, the issue of Foreigner (be a muslim or not) vs Somali, i would say Somali husband/wife is better as he/she is all in one, i.e. muslim and your kind. So, as it always was East or West old homey home is the best! Wallaahi, somali brother is the better option sisters, and i mean that. I have nothing againt a sister marrying a muslim brother, but from what i'm hearing the grass is not greener on the other side. Good luck to everyone.
  2. I have to say this discussion has been one of the few interesting discussions i've seen here. However there are two poles to this discussion: the pro education and not-so-pro. Before I write my bit, here is a thought: *Richard Branson = No degree = Billionnaire *Warren Buffet = Degree = Billionnaire ----this comparing could go on forever----- okay, i hear you say, very simplistic assertion, but such is life. Education can and can not get you successful. See, it is tricky. Okay, this is my view and i will keep it short. I think there is trick in acheiving what you want from everything in life, education included. You can not be clueless. You have to know what you want and how to get it and what it is gonna take for you to get it. In this case, it is using education to attain a better life/future for yourself and family. I think the trick here is being decisive about what you want (subject/career etc) and putting in the effort, determination and sheer and brute force to succeed in it. If you do not have that sort of mentality, I really do not know why you are bothering. There are other avenues in life that one can explore which one might be good at. You can not spend four years of your life and then look back on it and go "what have I acheived now?". I would say, sister, go with your feeling/instinct. You're the master of your destiny and you know your soul and persona than anyone else. The hell with the 'ja ja' that anyone says. Good luck.
  3. Ipod sucks. And what makes this MP3 generation even worse is that they have lost respect for others by listening to their stup!d music loud as though everyone else have asked to listen to it, too. And note this, in 30 yrs' time, these nutters will see the effect that Ipod had on their hearing system, no lawsuit is gonna bring your hearing back. So, lower the volume! I think when one is down, the best thing to do is reflect of those less fortunate than you are, if one's brain can't do that, then get on with it. Life is what it is = ups and downs.
  4. A dinner and salat Isha with Sh. Usama bin Muhammad bin Ladin in a well lit underground cave. Top that.
  5. Apparently, if you see Zizou go by on the road, the official advice is to 'duck'...........hahah! The man has a hammer head and he likes to use it. You have been warned. One of the best players the world has seen he was. I guarantee you this incident will NOT damage ZZ's reputation as great player. He will continue to be remembered as one of the best. Apparently, I have been informed that he has disagreements with his mother cos of his marriage to a Spaniard and the whole Gaalo imitation, away from how she would have liked him to be - the whole cultural package. That has stained the relationship and she's ill. The Italian fella insulted his Mama and wished her death. That so far is the strongest rumour around as to why he headbutted the Italian *******o.
  6. Don’t you find it ironic you are solely supporting France because of the same racist reason? This is just a game. If the black players win, France will get the credit not the black people or Islam! We all have our prejudice. Need I say more. But I would not discriminate based on that.
  7. yeah, what is it? sounds dangerous by the sound of it. Hopefully no one is in trouble.
  8. ^^correction. England was sent home by the Portugal. Italy was the better team and they have won the game because Germans did not have the bit more oomph to win the game. It was few secs of laziness that cost them the final and a chance to win the cup. However, me think that Italy will meet France in the final since Portugal can size up to the might of the french quality. Mark this, if Zidane is let loose as he has been the last two games, Portugal will need a Divine intervention to win the game. Allez les blues (i dont like racist France, but the team has more black players and few muslims in it).
  9. asalaama allaikum all I really do not understand why you -good people- are giving these small minded people who have nothing in their small minds but narrow view and self and clan interest. they really do not deserve a sec. I know it is harsh to say this, but when you think of the thousands of kids and mothers and young and old who have to suffer in somalia, our country, because of warlords and their malitias, i believe anyone who opposes the only chance for peace is useless and does not deserve a word. I will even go further, the admin of this site should ban such individuals because of their heinous views, seriously. Aws and Khasraj, two Arab tribes who fought tough and hard for ages were finally united and pacified by Islam. Somalia and her people have no other solution but Islam. Period. Besides, if anyone respects the views of the public, majority of the people who live around all the areas that the admin of the Courts have reached are reported to be glad and have much better security and life is general is good. Shouldn't that be respected???????????
  10. Shariah is not barbaric. And to hear that from supposedly a muslim somali is SAD. How easy people's views change.
  11. bollocks. I don't see any rules that Alle-u-baahane has broken. the flipping bloodsucker and his lot need to leave the country and face justice, preferably in Guantanamo.
  12. ^yep, and i'm a full member of the org. damn, was she for real. how can you size down someone to some ****** list. that is plain ****** . best way to determine one's suitability is putting him or her in situations and seen how they handle or react. not some ****** list of questions although a guide wouldnt hurt.
  13. Good on Lloyds. i'm actually considering of changing accounts. i'm tired of accounting for the interest increase in my small money with other banks. enough haram in our lives already. good move for Lloyds. muslims are unique market with alot of potential in the UK.
  14. let's not put our hopes too high. a dangerous thing to do. let's take one day at a time. hope but not too hopeful. we're delighted and things are bright for Africans, but let's sit back and enjoy the ride without heart aches. just have a feeling they will fall apart again. You know how African teams are There is some truth in there. but i hate when the commentators unashamedly put us down and underestimate us, africans. Africa all the way.
  15. Sh. Nurow, ilaahey haku sharfee, arintaan bal shaaca ka qaad, oo shaafiinta nasoo gaarsii, shacabkana u ducee, shayaadiintana inkaar, iyo inta sharta wado, oo ilaahey haku sharfee, shiiq Nuurow sheekada bilow! Aamiin, aamiiin Allahayow, aamiin. sha'leey macaan baad ka soo tuurta Sheekh. Allahu akbar.
  16. ^it's really sad to read you write that. but hey, you're entitled to your views. I would choose the 'wadaadada' any day over the maniacs who have corrupted and bled dry country and people for the past God knows how many years. The thing is, 'wadaadadu' will be and are capable of bringing about a lasting peace and unity - and Islam is the only 'dawaa' for the somali disease of 'qabiil'- which the blood thirsty fockers couldn't and haven't managed for the past zillions of years (16 yrs feels like zillions of yrs). now, the crucial and extremely important point for the somalis is: will soamlis give up on qabiil and put their trust in the 'wadaadada' and can the 'wadaadadu' deliver on this gigantic expectation of a nation? my view is, 'wadaadadu' might deliver on their part, but i'm not so sure about the somali public's qabiil-infested souls will be able to. some have already showed their support and insha Allah the rest will too. but God knows how long that will hold water.
  17. Man, I just can not beleive myself. this morning when wrote on these pages i was so downhearted and not feeling the cuppa. how things change and change fast! Now my blood is boiling.....woooh! Ghana all the way. and you know what, they know we are supporting them, all the africans are behind the black stars from the continent and we've actually been thanked by none other than the captain himself, Appiah for our support. what a game, what a game! let me just say this for the record, can't there be another surprise from the african teams that we've counted out of the continent deep inside in our minds. can Togo cause a seismic earthquake and shake the very earth where the french cocks stand on? can't it happen? oh yeah! I stand proud african and hope for the best, after all hope is man's best weapon in this world! Hope for the continent. Africa all the way, and i'll keep my samba warriors as insurance, just in case. Come on Ghana! wooooooooooow!
  18. And now my money is on Brazil to win it for the sixth time, is it? the samba boys (mostly black stars, yeah i'm a racist) have what it takes to outperform anyone else in the cuppa. I can't take why everyone is so zero-ing on Ronaldo. leave the man alone. we all know what he is capable of. dont ever underestimate a fine player like Ronaldo. it takes one brilliant moment and all the doubters will go 'yeah, we knew he was capable of it...blah blah blah'. With an attack force made of Ronaldinho, Robinho, Adriano, Ronaldo and the rest (there is even rythme to their names), they are capable of rocking any team in this cuppa. but football being what it is, there is always a surprise around the corner. Guys, Samba boys are not overrated, unlike the english (BNP lot who won't go beyond the quarter finals and never stop dreaming about '66). Braz all the way! wooooooooooh!
  19. What is so damn disappointing in this world cup is that no single African team has yet to win a game! My my my! I think from now on, African football authorities should do some fiddling and corrupting of the qualification for the world cup and put forward teams that can make a difference for the continent's football prowess than being fair and putting forward part-timers like Angola and Togo etc. Because of no african success, i have really lost interest in the whole touranment. for me, it is now tasteless. it is no different than the premiership now. i needed teams that i could identify with and support and get my blood boiling. damn it! Imagine if we had Ivorians, Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon and one of the north African Arabs. That would have been a world cup worth watching for me. I predict a south american final. anyone agree? come on with the way, Argentina is playing and Brazil's pedigree, it is only a fair prediction. which european team has the wow factor in this tournament? haven't seen anything substantial yet. I would be surprised if either Brazil or Argentina don't make it to the final. enuff said...
  20. I think you are all rushing to judgement. Why dont we wait and see what happens. If these people can bring about peace and some sort of law and order for the somali people and somalia, I think they are worth the support of every somali, anyone with an iota of a brain in their scalp. I think the signs are good, but the future, as is usual with somali affairs, is not so clear. So, folks, let us wait and see and hope for the best.
  21. About 2 years ago my friend and I were on a cruise through the western Mediterranean aboard a Princess liner. At dinner we noticed an elderly lady sitting alone along the rail of the grand stairway in the main dining room. I also noticed that all the staff, ships officers, waiters, busboys, etc., all seemed very familiar with this lady. I asked our waiter who the lady was, expecting to be told she owned the line, but he said he only knew that she had been on board for the last four cruises... back to back. As we left the dining room one evening I caught her eye and stopped to say hello. We chatted and I said, "I understand you've been on this ship for the last four cruises". She replied, "Yes, that's true." I stated, "I don't understand" and she replied, without a pause, "It's cheaper than a nursing home". So, there will be no nursing home in my future. When I get old and feeble, I am going to get on a Princess Cruise Ship. The average cost for a nursing home is $200 per day. I have checked on reservations at Princess and I can get a long term discount and senior discount price of $135 per day. That leaves $65 a day for... 1. Gratuities, which will only be $10 per day. And the rest can be put into the slot machines. 2. I will have as many as 10 meals a day if I can waddle to the restaurant, or I can have room service (which means I can have breakfast in bed every day of the week). 3. Princess has as many as three swimming pools, a workout room, free washers and dryers, and shows every night. 4. They have free toothpaste and razors, and free soap and shampoo. 5. They will even treat you like a customer, not a patient. An extra $5 worth of tips and your casino winnings will have the entire staff scrambling to help you. 6. I will get to meet new people every 7or 14 days. 7. T.V. broken? Light bulb need changing? Need to have the mattress replaced? No problem! They will fix everything and apologize for your inconvenience. 8. Clean sheets and towels every day, and you don't even have to ask for them. 9. If you fall in the nursing home and break a hip you are on Medicare; if you fall and break a hip on the Princess ship they will upgrade you to a suite for the rest of your life. Now hold on for the best! Do you want to see South America, the Panama Canal, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, or name where you want to go? Princess will have a ship ready to go. So don't look for me in a nursing home, just call shore to ship. P.S. And don't forget, when you die, they just dump you over the side... at no charge.
  22. I think she (Ibtisaam?) meant knowledge of earthly dimension. That is what you think , but not the words on the screens, is it now? Wouldn't it have been helpful if she made it so clear so that there would be no ambiguities? Absolute truth means different things to different people. Your truth is not my truth etc. About the puritanical, genuine and insecurity bullshit, I'll just leave it out. You dont know me to judge me. Now the falsificationism concept of Popper, let me just say that I have written a whole essay based on it, so I will not bother talking to you about its understanding. I dont wanna come across defensive, so I am gonna leave it there.
  23. ^You calling me ****** ? Are you, girls? Cos this is the beginning of WAR! Get your guns ready.............! P.s: so which part did i get wrong?
  24. I am pretty sure, I will marry a A hijabified lady ....doting "a fine hijaab".. of any colour and style (provided that it covers the contours not the hair alone) than marrying a semi-nude person who gonna corrupt my family, my religion and my kids Bless you!
