  1. It is not about the winning, it IS about what hopefully the new fella (Sharif Sh Axmed, insha Allah) can do for Somalia. Allow doorasho nabad Somalia iyo Somali ugu dhalato ka yeel....Amiin, Amiinta ku dara idinkuna.
  2. so what do we have instead, the recognition of the world's biggest LAGAROONE recognising us. waw. they say "Desperate times, require desperate measures". That made me laugh! Peter Khan!!s baa hada somaliland aqoonsaday miyaa!? I can't wait his first state visit!lol!
  3. One English manager commented as follows in relation to the money on offer for Kaka, "A demonstration of bottomless wealth". And that is sadly what the Arab petrol dollars are. It is shameless *********. Why more than double the world record? I swear Al-Qaeda should target these people than West. blow up their ****** palaces and send them back to the desert and their camels. Ba$tards!
  4. Like or loath it, Reer Waqooyi are making it by the day. In fact, the only light a land where darkness prevails. And let me say this, reer Waqooyi maahi, waxan soomaaalinimo ahaynina iima galin, but it makes me proud to see another Soo-Maal [you add your suffix here] making a progress.
  5. You're as old as you feel. It's all in the head, all in the head.
  6. This woman with her threatening mentality which borders Bush like approach is no good for a sec of state. He should have given her health related post or something which had put much effort when she was the first lady. As for the old boy, Mr C, he should use him as an envoy or something, and then there you have it, these two powerful individuals in the party neutralised.
  7. I am from Laga-dhifso, and it is near tuulo 'aan isku dhufano. There you go, map that if you can find the coordinants.
  8. Nobody, as is generally understood, can call this early. It ain't over till the fat lady roars. You never know, anything can tip it over either side......Long 4 weeks to go. Besides, this early triumphalism on the Democrat side is no good, in my view. Stay humble, stick with it till the end.
  9. Despite what your 'friend' from the neighboring countries said, there is truth in the logic that there is something wrong with the 'social structures and norms'. Call it weak or whatever, but something is amiss there and I do believe, personally, that it might have contributed to the calamity. A case in point is responsibility. Being accountable for your actions and words. This doesn't register with the majority of us, Somalis. How come the majority didn't see right to stop the ship (Somalia and all) from sinking the day it all kicked off? Where were the responsible majority on that Sunday and the days that led up to it? In short, and in an answer to your question, everything that could have gone wrong have gone wrong in Somalia. It is now a case of, ' Haruub daatay caano ah, hanbadaa la qaban jirey '. Safe what is left of it. And in this, I believe, its people, mainly the younger generation, seem to be failing to answer their natural calling = to save our dear country.
  10. the following is from the dictionary: "adjective: 1. of or relating to the African republic of Somalia or its people or their language and culture; "Somali coffee is excellent" ". BUT STILL USES 'somali' IN THE EXAMPLE THEY'VE GIVEN. I agree with Faheema. the adjective Somalian is restrictive. Somali people should be refered to as Somalis, not Somalians. It doesn't even sound right.
  11. How i wished that a concern voiced here by any concerned somali would meet heeding minds that take on to his/her nearest ones, check out if the problem exists/applicable and apply the 'talo'. As is said above, something within Mr/s somali died within when the country went unconcious (hopefully, it is a case of unconciousness rather than death).
  12. Why does it feel like everyone has got their head in the sand, literally? HEAR THIS: there is no a shred of a DIGNITY left for Somalis and Somalia!. We've -hit rock bottom, and there is no place rock bottomer/bottomest than where we're today. The sooner we realise the better. There are stories far worse than this one. It hasn't come out and you haven't read or seen doesn't mean they don't exist. They do.
  13. Don't ever listen to stats and newspapers. Ignore them, do not register them in your mind. Go out there and presevere. Knock every door and if you have to knock it down to get access.
  14. Given that African men (most of them) have failed the continent and its people, I believe, it's high time women are given a chance at top jobs. Look at Liberia and that fine President ma'am. From few tv excerpts that i've seen, she seemed well-rooted and collected fine lady. I also believe, even though, I am not sure that her Finance minister is also a lady. So there you are....Liberia hasn't been on the news negatively lately. Quite an accomplishment, I would say.
  15. Okay, so we've not been told about how exactly the incident/thing has happened. So what? The point here is, the solution that capital punishment brings to the society at large. It is no non-sense approach and deters most of the people in commiting murder, intentionally or otherwise thus upholding the law and order. As of the elders have talked and reached a decision muran, I think it is a lame cantarabaqash. This is only helpful when the incident was accidental(not always) - and if the family of course accepts it to be the case - otherwise, the Tol solution is no use. Usually, if the murder was not accidental, and is solved through the Tol and Diya is paid, it has a habit of coming back (you know, sometime in the future a fella from the same clan [the clan that made the pardon] takes another life and the clan he is from asks for a pardon as they pardoned a fella before, and usually there is a refusal depending on the circumstances surrounding the killing etc) thus creating a continous killing spree. So, to avoid all that cr@p, this tried and tested very simple formulae always works: A LIFE FOR A LIFE! PERIOD. If that is taking a high moral ground or whatever, then LAKUM DIINIKUM WALIYA DIIN, innit?
  16. War f!ck the Tol, don't pay a penny (really p!ssed with some of the people, here)! The weak so and so who're saying pay it 'cause it is important that you are part of the Tol and where are you going to turn in the future when you end up in the same sh!t. Answer is simple, and it is Allah. The Lord should be your Tol. If your Tol turns bad, are you gonna turn bad too? Just to appease them? Your Tol should see right, if not, momentarily, suspend your membership till they see right. Simple. If you don't pay, and this fella pays the prize with his life, a lot people are gonna be saved in this way, but if you give in, you would be partially to blame in the perpetuation of this kind of act. Allah hafiz.
  17. Lol@United snakes. Despite the fact that they're (Russia) confirming their return back to prominence in the world stage, it scares me, that if they're not careful they might drag the world and its people into Armaggedon. Given the stockpiles of destructive arsenal that humanity has in store, one cannot afford to be haste.
  18. This is Sh Hamza Yusuf responding to Mr Dawkins et al. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SKDaMz8F9s&feature=related I personally think that their onslaught on religion is just a gimmick, nothing else but a gimmick to get publicity and sell books.
  19. You sure he didn't say Salaasa (Talaado)? Which would be weird for a guy. 'Cause it sounds female - ish.
  20. Almost literal translation: 2. Qabiil ku nin This is the sort of fellow that boasts and prides solely of his clan. He doesn’t possess any other personal qualities or capabilities. He always brags about tribalism, and his strength lies in tribe-talk. Most of the time he ends up at loggerheads with others ‘cause of the tribe-talk and the fact that he rates his own tribe superior to other tribes.
  21. And why do you feel the ladies in Burco are wrong? Is there no room for being different than the people in the West when it comes to division of labour? Who says theirs is the yardstick for being right and wrong? Do you realise in the East - China, India, Japan, Middle East and Africa etc (which comprise the bulk of the homosapeins that live in planet earth), indeed have similar job divisions and it is serving them well so far? Nabi Muhammad SCW has participated or might have taken full part in attending to the chores of his household as ahaadeeth have pointed out, so there is nothing Euro-centric or Western about lending a hand in your home.
  22. There was only one Mariam and she had Issa. So, I don't know what the options here are other than YOU considering dropping the supercilious attitude and accepting that you too are a weak human being with bag full of shortcomings.
  23. I learned that there is never has been, and never will be a great leader lacking the sex energy. It is the creative energy of all genius. Now before you misunderstand me let me say that the mere possession of this energy will not make you genius. I learned that you must transform this energy into some other form of desire and action. I learned that Napolean Bonarparte when inspired by his first wife Josephine he was irresistible and invincible. I learned that when his “better judgment” prompted him to put Josephine aside his judgment impaired and his defeat was not far It certainly is one of biggest motivating factors of human greed along money and power. So, it is not suprising that he burned cities and massacred people on his way to a woman's knickers.
