    Take Hijab Off

i do not think anything wrong with asking questions, do not we all have our weak moments where we need someone to remind us and encourage us. and i do not think anyone can dispute that men have easy life in western countries especially after 9/11,no one stares them at the trains, shopping malls, when they look for a job they dress exactly like a western man tie and suit; however Allah will give you ajar for all the hardships that you're going through, and remember how the campanions of the prophet(PPUH) were tortured and they never compromised their faith. if Allah meant you to get the job you will get,if not there is always another one i am looking for a job now and it helps me when i think that way .
  3. some people are ignorant beyond help, if the author really wanted to know islam and science he/she would have discovered muslims were making scientific discoveries while europeans were living in dark ages and praying to saints to save their sick relatives.
  4. xiinfiniin,i do not think he should be banned just because he is not muslim, this site should be welcoming everyone regardless of their religion as long as they do not insult anyone. prophet(PPUH) had a dialogue with non-muslims in his mosque, and that is how islam spread,if muslims followed your way islam would not have reached far asia or africa.how do you expect people to find out islam if they are not allowed to express their feelings and doubts, maybe this man and people like him never had the chance to talk someone that can show what islam is.

phanta did anyone ever told you you ask too many questions
  6. is the author yibir? because if he is, then the book would be more interesting and it would be based on his feeling rather than second hand information
  7. Originally posted by wind.talker: ^^ That's all good to hear sxb but Yemen provided man and material to support Ethiopia in its war against Somalia. 8. i remember you always said you are very close to your father, may allah grant him firdowsa, and give you the strength to go on.
  9. lol qacqaac, what favor is he doing for her  . sooner or later he'll want someone to call him father, so it is his right to look somewhere else, i am sure there are other 'mr. rights' so i would say she should let him go, and find single father.

I thought there was princples behind what we believed but I found there is no such logic behind this superior complex Somalis got. Salam inferiority complex og-girl,not only somalis, but all non-white races will rather have their daughter marry white than black, why else do you think girls are using dianna and fairy love? and there is no logic on any superior complex that any race got.
  11. probably the child is his nephew,or related to him/his wife some other ways, somelis bring some people they have never seen as their children, spouses, or siblings, why are you assuming his wife cheated on him, someone who is not somali may assume that, but you who knows how somali system of sponsorship works, you should be able to figure it out.

    Question

i think it matters, because it is not just two of you, but your families as well, ideally it should not, but it does. how about going back, for vacation, what region would you go? it is easier to say it does not matter, but when you're in that kind of situation, it is more complicated, ofcourse families can make it easy if both sides accept. maybe 100 years from now it would not, but today it does.it is just like race, would you marry someone who is not your race; but ofcourse lesser degree
  13. he is professor of economics at northeastern university,he almost lost his job by supporting unpopular causes, i really like him,he stands what he believes, and he never supported al-qaida, or what they did, but he is against labeling all muslims terrorists, he has a lot of articles in his website.
  14. i have never heard oromo living in qabri-dahare,but i have heard some historians who claim the entire somalia belonged to oromo, and they were pushed by somali immigarants, i do not know why they say somalis came from somewhere else.

    Shisha

i thought it was just like smoking, and i did not know girls smoke shisha too, mostly what i have seen was old guys smoking it, especially those from the country side, not educated ones, but i did not know somalis smoke shisha too
  16. Originally posted by CAAMIR: Thanks for your responses. Bilan, i agree that it is not good to personalize a whole topic but you are attracting the personalization of it out of an attention you trying to seek when the emotions are high just as Og-girl did. Please show your sympathy. If you can't do , then i really advise that you reserve your comment. excuse me, you posted something in a public forum, why would i reserve my comments, if you want everyone to agree with you, then you should have emailed those who agree with you,i did not say anything about those men, and i already showed my sympathy in another topic; instead of calling me attention seeker, you could have said demonstration will achieve these goals A, B and C,but i guess some people can not talk without accusation and insults. Amethyst: maybe it is peaceful demonstrations, but did you think of how your actions will impact on the lives of somalis living there, you are living in europe and do not need nothing from saudis, but there are thousands who depend on saudis, inside saudi arabia or even in somalia, and if saudis decide to retaliate, which is not impossible, what good did the demonstration acheived? <---- walks out shaking her head and wondering why people resort into accusations instead of explaining their points.
  17. it seems the only way to get famous is to disrespect the prophet(PPUH. and to Lazy, what is her success if i may ask. do you know this woman, and what she did, i do not think any sensible person will want to be like her. i do not think anyone is saying anyone about her personal views, but when she insults a prophet, Allah, then we have every right to talk back,if you really saw and read what she said, and it did not bother you, then you have a problem.
  18. You are the kind of a person who will sell the live of your brother or sister for Wordly gain. wow, you must know me better than anyone, i would have said something but personalizing and calling names is below my level, however if you use your mind and brain rather than your heart and emotions; you would have realized what i said makes sense and its logic. while i do not agree the way saudis carry their selective justice, i still would not jepoardize the lives of hardworking somalis for the sake of few criminals.these men committed a crime, what is done is done, instead of demonstrating give the money charity in their names, that is what they need right now.
  19. ^^, i wonder if you look deep into everything. but did you guys think how it will affect thousands of somalis living in saudi arabia, those men are dead may allah grant them jannah, but your actions may hurt others who are still alive, i for one wish no one will come out.
  20. ^^lol do we have a grammar police in the house or what, no matter what the saudis did,or will do,somalis can not do nothing about it,if somalis decide not to go to saudi arabia, saudis will be happy because that will save them some money, plus this is not the first time saudis executed poor immigrants, you do not see pakistanis, egyptians, etc demonstrating, because simply beggers have no choice.
  21. Originally posted by Haddad: quote:Originally posted by 3abeer Elward: It is said that the photographer who took this picture committed suicide grieved by the photo. And the point is? Feel sympathy for someone who committed suicide? Under Islam, suicide isn't to be admired, encouraged, feel sympathy for, talk about it as something positive and etc. The picture was taken in 1994; why the sudden interest and politicizing? Just a few years before the picture was taken, hundreds thousands Somali children perished in similar or worse conditions; where is the interest and politicizing? Because no Arabs were involved in the Somali tragedy? who is talking about arabs,or somalis, did i miss something here  , plus this man was not a muslim FYI there was a lot publicity about great famine in baydhaba, almost every newspaper and TV stations were showing pictures of somalis starving to death, why else do you think united nations sent troops to somlia. back to the topic, it is really sad, if he actually left her, then it's understandable that he could not live with himself.
  22. oh do not worry about them , there is something called software translators, plus i am sure you would not mind translating them yourself
  23. Originally posted by OG_Girl: Good, Bilan, atleast you got translation for what did I say, I was replying to my friend, very normal to speak our native language!! when you say someone does not have neither the common sense nor the brain to understand you, is not replying to your friend, i have no problem whatever language you two use,but since you are talking third person and the comment is directed towards her/him, you should have said it in somali. that is all i am saying.
  24. Og-girl, if you were in saudi arabia, they would not allow you to defend anyone so stop this 'we attitude', you are not representing saudi gov. why can not you explain the sharia without insulting entire somali population. yes somalia has a civil war, it is neither the first nor the last country, because our country is not in a good shape does not mean we should be killed left and right plus we talked about somali problems million times, this case is not about somalia. everyone knows there is no justice in saudi arabia and entire third world countries, their own citizens are saying it. FYI there are somalis in every corner of the world, who work hard, send their children to school, and clearly respect the laws of their host country, so stop painting somalis as savages, who live in a jungle. how come i did not see you outraged when saudis did not respect the laws of their host country and blew up buildings and killed people. 'كلاسيك أنا غاسله ايدي من هذي!!صدقيني هاي ما عندها منطق ولا العقل . قلت اكسب من وراها اجر واشرح لها . لكن لاحياة لمن تنادي , PS. there was no need to talk about people in a language that you know they would not understand. as long as you are talking about them say your comments in english or somali.
  25. ^^^^ there is no need to insult sis, she did not attack anyone personally, she said what she believed is right, if you can not keep up with her debate, then quit it. why do you have to call her names, walahi that is very low.
