  1. muraad, i think the last verse was the aya in surat al baqara. which forbids the ribba. "Those who devour usury will not stand except as stand one whom the Evil one by his touch Hath driven to madness. That is because they say: "Trade is like usury," but Allah hath permitted trade and forbidden usury. Those who after receiving direction from their Lord, desist, shall be pardoned for the past; their case is for Allah (to judge); but those who repeat (The offence) are companions of the Fire: They will abide therein (for ever)."
  2. salaam to answer amatuallah's question, it was barakah known as Umm Ayman, and she was married to zaid. and if i try to answer yacquub's question i think it was cuthman ibn cafaan the third caliph.

  4. salaam taqwa i think you were kind of harsh on sis, she did not commit a crime she just asked a question, someone told her something is haraam, she posted the question what is wrong with that?. what if her husband does not know the religion or does not care? in my obinion there is nothing called male question and female question. islam is one and regardles of our gender we should know what is haraam and halaal.
  5. konwayn it would be really nice if you direct your energy towards something good and useful.i'm sure you know that if you call any muslim kaafir and that person isn't kaafir then it is you who will be...., i do not know why are you using the word wahhabi while up to now no one claimed to be wahabi. i think neither you or anyone else can deny that that sheikh muhammad ibn abdelwahab liberated muslims from praying to the graves, and i found this ans it may help you to realize why it is shirk. Praise be to Allaah. 1 – The issue of praying at graves Praying at graves is of two types: The first type is praying to the occupant of the grave. This is major shirk which puts a person beyond the pale of Islam, because prayer is an act of worship, and it is not permissible to do any act of worship to anyone other than Allaah. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Worship Allaah and join none with Him (in worship)” [al-Nisa’ 4:36] “Verily, Allaah forgives not (the sin of) setting up partners (in worship) with Him, but He forgives whom He wills, sins other than that, and whoever sets up partners in worship with Allaah, has indeed strayed far away” [al-Nisa’ 4:116] The second type is praying to Allaah in the graveyard. This covers a number of issues: 1 – Praying the funeral (janaazah) prayer at the graveside, which is permissible. Example: if a person dies and you are not able to offer the funeral prayer for him in the mosque, then it is permissible for you to offer the prayer for him after he is buried. The evidence for this is that this is what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that a black man or a black woman used to clean the mosque, and he (or she) died. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked about him and they said, “He died.” He said, “Why did you not tell me? Show me to his grave (or her grave).” So he went to the grave and offered the funeral prayer. (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 458; Muslim, 956). 2 – Praying the funeral prayer in the graveyard, which is permissible Example: a person dies and you are not able to offer the funeral prayer for him in the mosque, so you go to the graveyard and offer the prayer there before he is buried. Shaykh ‘Abd al-Azeez ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “It is permissible to offer the funeral prayer for the deceased inside the graveyard just as it is permissible to offer the funeral prayer for him after he is buried, because it was proven that a woman used to clean the mosque and she died. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked about her and they said, ‘She died.’ He said, ‘Why did you not tell me? Show me to her grave.’ So they showed him and he offered the prayer for her, then he said, ‘These graves are filled with darkness for their occupants, but Allaah illuminates them by my prayer over them.’” (Narrated by Muslim, 956.) From Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 8/392 3 – Praying in the graveyard – apart from the funeral (janaazah) prayer – this prayer is invalid and does not count, whether it is an obligatory prayer or a naafil prayer. The evidence for that is as follows: (i) The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “All the earth is a mosque apart from the graveyards and bathrooms.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 317; Ibn Maajah, 745; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah, 606). (ii) The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “May Allaah curse the Jews and the Christians, for they have taken the graves of their Prophets as places of worship.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 435; Muslim, 529). (iii) Praying in graveyards may be a means that leads to worshipping the graves, or to imitating those who worship graves. Hence, because the kaafirs used to prostrate to the sun as it was rising and setting, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade us to pray when the sun is rising or setting, lest that be taken as a means that leads to worshipping the sun instead of Allaah, or to resembling the kuffaar. 4 – Praying towards the graveyard, which is haraam, according to the correct opinion. Example: you pray with a graveyard or grave in the direction of your qiblah, but you are not praying in the graveyard, rather you are praying on some other ground that is close to the graveyard, with no wall or barrier between you and it. The evidence for this being haraam: (i) It was narrated that Abu Marthad al-Ghanawi said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not sit on graves, or pray towards them.” (Narrated by Muslim, 972). This indicates that it is haraam to pray towards graveyards or towards graves or towards a single grave. (ii) The reason why it is not allowed to pray towards a graveyard is the same as the reason why it is not allowed to pray towards a grave. So long as a person is facing towards the grave or graveyard in such a way that it may be said that he is praying towards it, then this comes under the prohibition, and if it comes under the prohibition then it is not valid, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Do not pray …” The prohibition here is on praying, so if a person prays towards a grave, he is combining obedience and disobedience, and it is not possible to draw closer to Allaah in such a manner. Note: If there is a wall between you and the graveyard, then the basic principle is that it is acceptable to pray in this case and it is not prohibited. Similarly, if there is a street or a considerable distance which would mean that you cannot be regarded as praying towards the graves, then this is acceptable. And Allaah knows best. 6. A larger number have probably had their head cut off in Taleban led Afghanistan for crimes against a different kind of dress code. i do not think so Those who condemn him in Kabul or Teheran have yet to show that they can do better. Those who laugh at his presumptions in post-modern universities and cafés are unwilling to forego the benefits of the very civilization that Mustafa Kemal thought his country could join. Has his project succeeded? To quote what zhou en lai said about another famous revolution, "it is too soon to tell". Book quote: "Atatürk’s message is that East and West can meet on the ground of universal secular values and mutual respect, that nationalism is compatible with peace, that human reason is the only true guide in life. It is an optimistic message and its validity will always be in doubt. But it is an ideal that commands respect." i think he was proved wrong, russians are killing chechayans for nationalism, hitler killed millions of people for the sake of nationalism, and even isreal are murdering palestinians for nationalism, so in my opinion nationalism and peace are not compatible [/QB] i never liked him but i think the author liked ataturk,do not you think so
  7. i hope this answers your question: Is it haram or even undesireable for us to touch dogs? I have heard many Muslims say that dogs are dirty and Satan has spit on them. Also, that if we do touch a dog, we have to wash our hands several times. I haven't been able to find anything concerning this in the Qur'an, Hadith, or Islamic books. Please help. Answer: Praise be to Allaah. The answer to this question is twofold: 1 – The ruling on keeping a dog. It is haraam to keep a dog unless it is for the purposes for which Islam permits keeping dogs. Whoever keeps a dog – except a dog for hunting or farming – his reward will decrease each day by one or two qeeraats. It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: ‘Whoever keeps a dog, except a dog that is trained for hunting or a dog for herding livestock, his reward will decrease each day by two qeeraats.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5059; Muslim, 2941; according to another version narrated by them both, “one qeeraat”). The word qeeraat refers to a large amount of reward; if a person’s reward decreases by one qeeraat, that means that he is sinning, for losing reward is like earning sin, both indicate that something is haraam because of the consequences it leads to. The impurity of dogs is the greatest of animal impurities. The impurity of a dog can only be removed by washing seven times, one of which should be with earth. Even pigs, which the Qur’aan states are haraam and describes as an abomination (rijs) are not naajis (impure) to such an extent. Dogs are impure and filthy, but unfortunately we find that some people are attracted to the ways of the kuffaar and their filthy habits, so they have started to keep dogs unnecessarily for no reason, keeping them, training them and cleaning them even though they can never be clean, even if they were washed with the waters of the ocean, because they are essentially impure. Our advice to them is to repent to Allaah and to get the dogs out of their homes. But in the case of dogs which are needed for hunting, farming and herding livestock, there is nothing wrong with that because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) gave permission for that. If you throw this dog out of your house, you will no longer be responsible for it, so do not keep it with you. 2 – The ruling on touching a dog If you touch it when it is not wet, then your hand does not become impure, but if you touch it when it is wet, this means that the hand becomes impure, according to the opinion of many scholars, and the hand must be washed seven times, one of which should be with earth. With regard to vessels, if a dog has licked a vessel (i.e., drunk from it), then the vessel must be washed seven times, one of which should be with earth, as was proven in al-Saheehayn and elsewhere, in the hadeeth narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If a dog licks the vessel of any one of you, let him wash it seven times, one of which should be with water.” It is better if the washing with earth be the first washing. 8. western people(non_muslims) are over reacting, three building and thousand people died, they made it big deal and expect every muslim to feel sorry for them and opologize, but what about what they are doing to muslims?islam encourages to be moderate, but to be moderate in terms of western definition it means to be muslim by name only for that reason i do not like that term.

  12. it is kind of long but it is worth it What is more stable in Islam, a love marriage or an arranged marriage? Answer: Praise be to Allaah. The issue of this marriage depends on the ruling on what came before it. If the love between the two parties did not transgress the limits set by Allaah or make them commit sin, then there is the hope that the marriage which results from this love will be more stable, because it came about as the result of the fact that each of them wanted to marry the other. If a man feels some attraction towards a woman whom it is permissible for him to marry her, and vice versa, there is no answer to the problem except marriage. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “We do not think that there is anything better for those who love one another than marriage.” (Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 1847; classed as saheeh by al-Busayri and by Shaykh al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, 624) Al-Sindi said, as noted in Haamish Sunan Ibn Maajah: The phrase “We do not think that there is anything better for those who love one another than marriage” may be understood to refer to two or to more than two. What this means is that if there is love between two people, that love cannot be increased or made to last longer by anything like marriage. If there is marriage as well as that love, that love will increase and grow stronger every day.” But if that marriage comes about as a result of an illicit love relationship, such as when they meet and are alone together and kiss one another, and other haraam actions, then it will never be stable, because they committed actions that go against sharee’ah and because they have built their lives on things that will have the effect of reducing blessings and support from Allaah, for sin is a major factor in reducing blessings, even though some people think, because of the Shaytaan’s whispers, that falling in love and doing haraam deeds makes marriage stronger. Moreover, these illicit relationships that take place before marriage will be a cause to make each party doubtful about the other. The husband will think that his wife may possibly have a similar relationship with someone else, and even if he thinks it unlikely, he will still be troubled by the fact that his wife did do something wrong with him. And the same thoughts may occur to the wife too, and she will think that her husband could possibly have an affair with another woman, and even if she thinks it unlikely, she will still be troubled by the fact that her husband did something wrong with her. So each partner will live in a state of doubt and suspicion, which will ruin their relationship sooner or later. The husband may condemn his wife for having agreed to have a relationship with him before marriage, which will be upsetting for her, and this will cause their relationship to deteriorate. Hence we think that if a marriage is based upon an illicit premarital relationship, it will most likely be unstable and will not be successful. With regard to arranged marriages where the family chooses the partner, they are not all good and not all bad. If the family makes a good choice and the woman is religious and beautiful, and the husband likes her and wants to marry her, then there is the hope that their marriage will be stable and successful. Hence the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) urged the one who wants to get married to look at the woman. It was narrated from al-Mugheerah ibn Shu’bah that he proposed marriage to a woman, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Go and look at her, because that is more likely to create love between you.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 1087; classed as hasan by al-Nasaa’i, 3235) But if the family make a bad choice, or they make a good choice but the husband does not agree with it, then this marriage is most likely doomed to failure and instability, because the marriage that is based on lack of interest usually is not stable. And Allaah knows best. Islam Q&A (www.islam-qa.com)
  13. i was not going to reply, but you mantioned one thing which i could not help but to reply it.you said x.player the quran was invented by the prophet(ppuh). your words are similar to those who were before you. and Allah gave you a challenge:10.38- Or do they say, "He forged it"? say: "Bring then a Sura like unto it, and call (to your aid) anyone you can besides God, if it be ye speak the truth!". 2.23- And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides God, if your (doubts) are true.. 2.25- But if ye cannot- and of a surety ye cannot- then fear the Fire whose fuel is men and stones,- which is prepared for those who reject Faith now x.playa now see Allah did not ask you 114 sura, just one and the shortest sura is three verse, up to now, 1400+ no one dared to say i can produce. so take the challenge, and do not come back before you do, which i'm 100%sure you can not..
  14. yacquub thanks, now lakkad, can you tell me one verse of the qur'an where jihad was mantioned as struggle as mr sayed yassin used it.when i read the speech i did not even see what connects the word jihad to what what he was talking about, the jihad is anything that you do for the sake of Allah, whether it is praying helping your parents,or most important jihad fighting with kufar, etc so tell me what kind of jihad are harvard graduates doing?.all kinds of jihad applies only to muslims. ilmatic, no matter what we as muslims do they will never agree with us, Allah told us this before, they will never agree with us untill we follow their religion. i agree with you islam is not about war, and we need to let our message out, but what did he do about that, he neither mentioned how islam treats women(the most misunderstood part) nor he talked about what islam stands for. his speech has nothing to do with islam.
  15. the speech itself was ok, but i think he misused the word jihad,he described it as it is struggle against one's own intrest or what they call "jihadul nafs". while every time that the word jihad mantioned in the quran it was about war. i think muslims now try to satisfy non muslims that they are even ready to change everything so that so called civilized nations would not get mad at us  .
  16. x.playa, you can say whatever you want but do not ever try to distort the quran, first of all you did not quote the verse right second it has nothing to do with arabs, cause if they are as you say, Allah would not have chosed his last prophet to be from them.as you are non_muslim i do not understand why it bothers you. islam as a religion it does not need to be reformed but it is muslims who need to go back and follow their religion.
