Somalia: Prime Minister Shirdon visits Puntland 9 Mar 9, 2013 - 5:53:22 AM GAROWE, Somalia Mar 9 2013 (Garowe Online) – Somali Federal Government (SFG) Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon arrived in Garowe the capital of Puntland, to meet with President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole, Garowe Online reports. In his first trip to Puntland as Prime Minister, Shirdon arrived at the Garowe International Airport where he was welcomed by Vice President Abdisamad Ali Shire members of parliament and other government officials. After saluting the government officials and crowds of citizens at the airport, Prime Minister Shirdon was taken to the Presidential Palace where he met with President Farole and Cabinet officials. Prime Minister Shirdon is expected to stay in Puntland for the coming days. Among many issues he and President Farole will discuss federalism, security, the constitution and other issues. I don't think it's much about xininyo though the colonial legacy is there, it's more economic blackmail considering Kenya has highly dependent on tourism, coffee/tulip exports, etc. They simply can't piss off the revenue source.

The only thing we learned from this exchange is we are not really solution oriented people and we seem to take twisted pleasure in muran. Somali women bore the brunt of the civil war. They don't need anyone granting them any freedom, they have earned the hard way and have the scars to prove it.

This could complicate things for Kenya considering his case at the International Court but otherwise well done Kenya!

All the noises aside or motivations for being prop or against this Government, this is an important for this Government to show that it can govern and manage to build institutions. It's delicate work that will have many pitfalls least of all people crying Qabiil. Somalia don't see a lot of opportunity to redeem itself, the past few past month they were given such opportunity, now let's see if they make the best out of the international recognition, the lifting of the arm embargo and its expanding influence.
