I can't stand muslim goverments(Puppetsof the west) suppressing the very people , they are suppose to serve. I can't stand muslim armies being used to suppress democracy in our countries. I can't stand people saying every Islamic political party is extremist. Iam atleast Turkey finally experiencing some democracy where an Islamic Party won majority vote to form a goverment. Our armies should respect the wishes of our people. Thankfully, the turkish army didn't interfere this time. I can't stand somali warlords prostituting our country and its resources. Boyz-at-LoveZone....Iam one who used the word " wierd"....N My apologies if it was little insensatative. The cultures of Asia are ancient , beautiful and rich cultures, but just like any other human cultures , Asian cultures have their downside.We are not putting down or degrading these cultures. We are merely discussing important social issues that goes in these cultures.I have lived in south Asia , pakistan to be more specific. Though pakistan is muslim country , it still holds on much of its past hindu culture much like we somalis have some of our past pagan beliefs in culture. I have seen first hand that women in that part of world are violated beyond belief. India might be rich in culture but there is a lot of ugly things that goes on in that culture. One can't excuse it by hiding behind centurie's old beliefs. Iam sure things like cannabilism , incest and human sacafrices were common in many human cultures but those things came to end coz people ended these cultural behaviors as everyone it is violating humanity. No matter how one puts it , killings of innocent babies is simply wrong and immoral. N about Indian wives being more respectul to their husbands , i beg to differ , it is more servititude than respect. Coz of the taboo associated with divorce in their culture, Indian women have no chioce but put up with their husbands even if they are very abusive. Unlike somalis and many other cultures, a life of a woman in india is ruined if she is divorced by husband. They don't have luxury of re-marrying agian. Lucky......This is one of those things that one can't hide behind their culture....Any society condoning the killings of babies must condenmed. They are not killing baby girls to control over-population, they are doing for it for other reasons. S.O.S.....I was surprised that anyone would compare the murders of innocent babies to the darwinism crap. It is not their physical features that they tried to offer as evidence linking to somalis, but also they mentioned oral history , tribal lineiage, this is specially in the case of chad people who traced their ancestors back to somali garre using their oral history, their liniaeges and language. They did some credible evidence. I think their claim has to be examined. One must consider the very fact that they claim to be of somali decent , not claiming of any other chustic ethnic. It is the responsibilty of the bride's parent to pay the dowry. This involves building new house for the couple, paying to the groom's family and whole alot other things. This is deeply rooted in their culture. In society which over a billion and millions live under poverty, marraige becomes a business. Grooms look the for the bride that pays most!. Having baby boy is more preferably to the most parents of India.The murdering of innocent girls is indeed one of the greatest crimes any could commit. Age old cultures and lack goverment involment hasn't help much to protect these innocent babies. Preferring boys over girls is not something unique only Asia, however the value of girl's life is most voilated in these countries. It is crime agianst humanity!

The recent history have seen somalis exiting their country creating Big Qurbo living outside somali lands of the horn. Though we are nomads , i thought that no significan number of somalis ever left somalia to settle outside the horn. I held that view till i heard that people claiming to be of somali descent that live in other parts of Africa. These communities claim that they are somali descendents who have migrated from Somalia centuries ago. One of these communities happens to be in Chad , these people claim to be Garre ( one of the oldest ethnic somali tribes). To prove their ethnic background, they have recited the names of their forefathers( Abtirsi). When these names were matched with todays somali Garre tribes. It all checked right. There are also very similiar todays somalis. Other communities are found in Tanzania and as far south Burundi and Rwundi. These people too assert that they are of somali descent. Some of these people still have the distinct somali features though others have assimilated in the local culture. My friend of mine show me a picture of Burundi President, This guy looks your avarge somali male( i can't say however if he is somali of descent). Other communities claiming are found as far as west africa. My friend mine from Ghana says they are ethnics gtom ghana and senegal that have somali features. Iam wondering if anyone of nomads know anything about these communities?

Anger ain't gonna us nowhere. Get involved and educate somalis. Discrmination and ignorance will only go away if we confront them head on! I symphetize with the handicapped people. As for the question, why would one marry someone whose they might disagree with on certain. I think realistically, when people meet and begun be fond of each other , they are more interested in being each other's company rather than worrying what farah or halimo is wearing or doing. If they get married, thats new stage in their life and must accept things that come with this new phase which includes taking into consideration how your mate feels about things.Anyone who thinks life after marraige is gonna stay the same before marriage is day-dreaming. N about somali guys listing qualities they look for in somali woman, they are merely expressing expection or desire. It is no different when somali girl make a list of what her mate should be!(tall, mascular, or what have you). N about jeans issue, everyone has to wear whatever they so desire. But the question is really approipate for one's age and status. I can't personally imagine in being mid 30s and my wife is still wearing jeans n T-shirts looking like Brittney. Every culture including eurowhite cultures expects married folks to be modest and behave in certian way. In the same manner, i don't think no somali woman would see her husband looking like thug with hip-hop clothes. I can understand young men and women wearing baggy jeans and tight ass jeans respectively when they are in their teens n early twenties. But being close to 30 or already there and still wearing the same clothing as one did in thier teens or early twenties doesn't make much sense unless if one is from showbiz industry.
