Castro...We as Somalis Need Cultural Reformation. We use value system that has outlived its purpose. Essentially, the Somali race is unable to reform and move forward!!!

Very sad, but hilarious at times specially the Sikh dude, and the fat dude drove by house and saw the cops there, yet came back to the house looking for a victim...how perverted can you get. Even the presence of the cops didn't discourage this guy. N Iam happy they caught the school teacher!!!

Somali Muslim Matrimonials....The Divorce Rate..Solutions

^^^A point can be made....loooool -
Well we could counter their support of sangub by coming out in support of the girl, and making our voices heard in the court and media. Hopefully Qabiilism won't undo our efforts since the brightest of us usually fall for that.

Somali Muslim Matrimonials....The Divorce Rate..Solutions
Che -Guevara replied to RendezVous's topic in General
^^^^^Those were possible solutions. Somalis need to figure what is that they seek in a relationship first. Put the effort and time in your relationship and be honest with each other. These marriages fail coz the couple don't really know each other and each other's needs. As maryooley, we hurry through things, and tell each other what we want to hear not what need to be said. Only after the couple actually get married do our true personality shows up. I believe knowing the person you gonna is key to succesful marriage. -
Somali Muslim Matrimonials....The Divorce Rate..Solutions
Che -Guevara replied to RendezVous's topic in General
Every Society whether be Somalis or Non-Somalis are plagued by the same problems.Looking for someone else outside your culture to solve these issues is not bright idea as that someone is not immune to the very problems that you are running away from. If these women are looking for love for the right reasons.....We wish them luck and success, but if they believe men from cultures are diffirent than Faaraxs, then they might be in rude surpise. Either way, I hope they find Happiness. And as for the divorce problem among maryooley, I think Somalis jump in too quickly into everything. One must know what he or she is looking in a patner before actually commiting to marriage. Most Somalis don't take the time or make the effort to know each other's needs. You gotta figure out your own needs first and that of your patner, and then see if both of you are looking the same thing. N to do this, one must be honest!!!!!!.. -

Edna Aden Ismail and her terrorist threats against Sool
Che -Guevara replied to Taleexi's topic in Politics
I think Yeey and the warlords in xamar have a better chance of becoming a legimate Somali Gov than Ms Edna and her administration securing Somaliland her independence. The leadership of Somaliland can't take their masses to the promised land. They are simply out of steam and out of ideas.Picking up fights with Pland is the next best thing to feeling like a state. besides, that keep the Sland masses preoccupied, and gets the goverment off the hook for its incompatency. -
Togane is no qabiilist. The old man might be vulgar and harsh in his approach when addressing the Somali masses, but he is right for most part. OLOL.....Yeey muxuu kaa galay.Asaga xamar kaama soo cayrin, but there is no denying inuu ibtilo yahe.I

^^^^True a boy can grow up to be useless to his parents. I think what is driving this sad the phenomena is financial burden parents endure when they are marrying off their daughters, and the simple fact that many people in India like most world believe girls are inferior sex. Sadly this deep-rooted cultural bias coupled with the abuse of modern technology is proving to be a deadly combination. India 'lost birth' study disputed India banned gender selection and selective abortion in 1994 A top Indian doctors' association has disputed a report which says more than 10m female births may have been lost over the past two decades. Researchers in India and Canada said in the Lancet journal prenatal selection and selective abortion was causing the loss of 500,000 girl births a year. But the Indian Medical Association said pre-birth gender checks had waned since a Supreme Court crackdown in 2001. There has been no reaction from the Indian government. A spokesman for the Indian Medical Association acknowledged that prenatal selections used to take place, but said they were not as widespread as before and that the Lancet report was exaggerated. "This has not been happening for the past four or five years after strict laws were put in place," the spokesman, Dr Narendra Saini, said. 'Sensational The research by Prabhat Jha of St Michael's Hospital at the University of Toronto, Canada, and Rajesh Kumar of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Research in Chandigarh, India found that there was an increasing tendency to select boys when previous children had been girls. If there were half a million foeticides a year the sex ratio would have been very skewed indeed Prof SC Gulati, Delhi Institute of Economic Growth Indian experts differed over the findings. "It is a sensational piece of work," Sabu George, who campaigns against female foeticide, told the AFP news agency. "We are very, very concerned about this study." Others say it is impossible that India could have lost 10m females. "If there were half a million foeticides a year, the sex ratio would have been very skewed indeed," said Prof SC Gulati of Delhi's Institute of Economic Growth. In 1994, India banned the use of technology to determine the sex of unborn children and the termination of pregnancies on the basis of gender. However, research for the year 2001 showed that for every 1,000 male babies born in India, there were just 933 girls. Leading campaigners say many of India's fertility clinics continue to offer a seemingly legitimate facade for a multi-billion pound racket and that gender determination is still big business in India. The researchers said the "girl deficit" was more common among educated women but did not vary according to religion. Experts in India say female foeticide is mostly linked to socio-economic factors. It is an idea that many say carries over from the time India was a predominantly agrarian society where boys were considered an extra pair of hands on the farm. The girl child has traditionally been considered inferior and a liability - a bride's dowry can cripple a poor family financially.

I thought I would share this article...kind disturbing but interesting read about human nature. Indian cultural tradition favours boys!!! More than 10m female births in India may have been lost to abortion and sex selection in the past 20 years, according to medical research. Researchers in India and Canada for the Lancet journal said prenatal selection and selective abortion was causing the loss of 500,000 girls a year. Their research was based on a national survey of 1.1m households in 1998. The researchers said the "girl deficit" was more common among educated women but did not vary according to religion. The unusual gender balance in India has been known about for some time. In most countries, women slightly outnumber men, but separate research for the year 2001 showed that for every 1,000 male babies born in India, there were just 933 girls. The sex ratio is so skewed in some states, men cannot find brides!!!! Ultrasound The latest research is by Prabhat Jha of St Michael's Hospital at the University of Toronto, Canada, and Rajesh Kumar of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Research in Chandigarh, India. They found that there was an increasing tendency to select boys when previous children had been girls. The sex ratio is so skewed in some states, men cannot find brides In cases where the preceding child was a girl, the ratio of girls to boys in the next birth was 759 to 1,000. This fell even further when the two preceding children were both girls. Then the ratio for the third child born was just 719 girls to 1,000 boys. However, for a child following the birth of a male child, the gender ratio was roughly equal. Prabhat Jha said conservative estimates in the research suggested half a million girls were being lost each year. "If this practice has been common for most of the past two decades since access to ultrasound became widespread, then a figure of 10m missing female births would not be unreasonable." 'Shameful' Sex selective abortions have been banned in India for more than a decade. HAVE YOUR SAY This just means that girls will be far more sought after in future Christian Tiburtius, Reading Send us your comments Experts in India say female foeticide is mostly linked to socio-economic factors. It is an idea that many say carries over from the time India was a predominantly agrarian society where boys were considered an extra pair of hands on the farm. The girl child has traditionally been considered inferior and a liability - a bride's dowry can cripple a poor family financially. The BBC's Jill McGivering says the problem is complicated by advances in technology. Ultrasound machines must be officially registered but many are now so light and portable, they are hard to monitor. Although doctors in India must not tell couples the sex of a foetus, in practice, some just use coded signals instead, our correspondent says. Last year the well-known religious leader and social activist, Swami Agnivesh, began a campaign across five northern and western states against female foeticide. "There's no other form of violence that's more painful, more abhorrent, more shameful," he said. source: bbc.com

Waraa Baashi...Hal Hal usoo baxa nooh...Goobashoda iska daayee....lol Ppl, Juma has the right to be angry. A topic with such inflammatory title only warrants a harsh response. Iam not sure what the nomad who started this post was going for, but iam pretty certain it wasn't meant to enlight us about the merits of the USC struggle with Barre. Horn...In the mind of every Somali USC is synonmous with certain Qabiil just like SSDF and SNM are indentified with certain Qabiils.Addressing USC usually means addressing dat particular Qabiil. -
Tookie founded the crips who created havoc in every black ghetto from roxbury to south central, and he did indeed murdered people. The man might have indeed redeemed himself, and perhaps deserves some mercy, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't face the consequences of his actions.

Good luck to them.

^^^Just got busy with life, I guess and the discussions in SOL became redundant, and predictable. Waa Runtaa the RRA leadership is disappointing to say the least. These men had one time the oppurtunity to free their people, and infact every Somali district south of Xamar from the chains of the Maxaa tiri boys from North, instead they decided to dance to the tunes of IndhaCade and Yeey, and Baydhabo becomes a place of contention everytime some " Somali Peace reconciliation" is concluded.

Awhile back when Yeey was coming to NYC, Somalis in the beantown held a gathering that i guess was meant to best decide how to welcome the "prez" to the states. Before anything could be done, a man decided that his only contribution to the meeting would be to point that most of pple there were from one tribe. He was telling the truth since majority of ppl were indeed of one tribe, but he failed to mention that nobody barred other Somalis from attending the meeting, and from having their voices heard. The other Somalis simply choosed to stay away for whatever reason. So my friend, ONLF might indeed be representing the interests of a certain qabiil, but that should haven't stopped other Somalis from working with ONLF since both are working towards the same goal. This is simply a case of Tuuk tuuk kale dhahaaya tuuk. You can't accuse ppl of the very thing you indulge.
