  3. I'm sorry but I don't believe it. Something is wrong.
  4. Can't believe this is actually Somalia. The country is looking great.
  5. Luckily I don't give a shidh. This Farah doesn't understand what this is about. But if I got it right with the info here. We are talking about a Morrocan 9 year old boy who just discovered that his father is actually German and not French or English.
  6. Your boss found you more toilets to clean? Lovely isn't it? The smell of urine.
  7. Plenty, but not enough to employ every teacher in Somalia obviously. Khat plays a small role in this. Of all the agricultural land in the Horn, only a small percentage can grow Khat. Coffee yes, but not Khat. If you could grow Khat anywhere normal vegetables and fruit grows, every square inch of Somalia would be used to grow Khat. Haduu jaad Waajid saan u gaaray wax haray maleh. Hehehe. Aniga waxaanba la yaabanahay. Waajid haddeyba heerkaan gaarsiisan tahay, Burco oo kale ka waran. Hoogey!
  8. That woman should be teaching, shame on her for lowering herself so easily. What the .. The woman is trying to survive. She's forced to do this. How can she teach, if nobody can pay her allowance. Khat trade is creating famine in the Horn beacuse its more profitable to grow khat than crops. Boolshidh. Droughts cause famine in the Horn.

  10. Walee this is interesting. Western companies in general avoid investing or dealing in any way with Somalia. There is no proper government and aduunkaan waa lays wada yaqaanaa: the world knows inaan nahay dad waalan. So I think it's incredible that this company, after bloodshed, still wants to do business in Somalia. A somewhat peaceful part of Somalia, but still Somalia. I mean I have to tell you the truth, if I was this Australian company, I would have packed my bags and left. If there's a force majeure clause in the contract between this company and this local Somali authority, to go to arbitration and have the contract rescissioned. I think any court will recognise a clan gone crazy (mining in their own land - what the hell?) as a legal frustration in the contract. NEway it looks like this company is there to stay. Dude even moved to Dubai for this, there is no turning back ma garatay. That's a wild sacrifice. So there is some lightpoints for Somalia in this deal. If this company is busy with activities that require good logistics, security and sofort. Than other companies will follow suit ma garatay. But these local Somali authorities like Puntland need to become more mature (democratic/transparent) and really enforce the rule of law otherwise hell will break loose. The local clan should be asked for permission, because simply this local authority is build on that principle: tribalism. It would be hypocrite for the governor of Puntland to act like a fully-fledged president of a country. codetalker. Ask yourself why would this company lie? It's obvious why this local authority would, but why this company. I mean if they are lying which wouldn't surprise me. Than that means that Somalia is sitting on some fat riches ma garatay. Gaaladaan know something we don't know.
  11. His teeth look like they are made of wood. Funny guy still.
  12. Funny how these folks answer these simple questions. Asia, E Europe and M East? What the.. See for yourself
  13. It was emailed to me by the editor. I don't know wether it was positive or negative towards Somaliland, but certainly not negative. All I know and many people agree with me that this issue was the worst ever published by Pace Magazine. Pace can do better than this. It was interesting and insightful to see and read about Somaliland, but come on now. What's up with the boring articles about land issues, government television or port mismanagement. Where are the (life)stories, poems, jokes and interviews that we used to read? Pace's charm is totally absent in this issue. Especially compared to the 9th issue that was dedicated to the Tsunami. That one was a lot better and memorable. So many people (girls) fell in love with the cover image of the 9th. The question you asked also reflects that Pace is on the wrong track. There shouldn't even be a discussion wether or not Somaliland is portrayed negatively or positively in this mag. This issue was dedicated to Somaliland: Somali youth (and some not so youthful) from that area presented Somaliland to us and what to think of it after that is up to the readers. Pace has a promising future, so let it get rid of the politics and focus on more social/cultural topics. We don't even care about politics. Pace has to stick with what it started out in 2003 which was to inform young Somalis about their culture, and get them interested in what goes on within the Somali community in the Diaspora. I for one look forward to read Pace's next issue in the summer.
  14. My name is Farah Blue because it can be the name of a Somali qaxooti who lives on government cheese and a White woman who lives on Swiss cheese at the same time. Farah Blue. Connecting biibol everywhere.

    Summer Time

I am going bag packing myself this summer inshallaah. I am planning of visiting all the attractions during the 2001 war of Afghanistan. For sure I know it won't be easy bag packing in Afghanistan but surely it will be a one time experience to charish. I am hoping to visit places like Mazar-i-Shareef, Kandahar (Qandahaar), Kabul and Mosul(I think this place in Iran but not to sure). I heard eastern Afghanistan is too dangerous to visit right now but I am going anyway. Maybe I'll catch up with some friends. Hopefully no friendly-fire will be exchanged as I am recongisable with the flag I am waving, black flag that is. Wish me luck guys and a good adventure! Aaheey! When you come back, waxaa ku sugeysa free ticket to Guantanamo Bay. The accomodation is great and the weather is fabulous.
  16. Stop being such a baby and get to work damn it! 5000 words is not that much. I've seen a dude in politics forum that writes 5000 words per post. You Halimos are so serious about education damn.
  17. This is at least money that didn't go to litres of cinnamon tea at Starbucks or the latest nikes for the juniors. Was the motivation to build this institution built on envy and jealousy? Maybe so. But does it really matter? And is it fair to these people to single them out? I donated to Hiran University and East Africa University in their endeavours to collect money from diaspora communities. Never did it cross my mind that the motivation behind it was "kuwa-kale-ka-gaar". And why should I, who cares really? It's a positive development at the end of the day and we should be happy that our country Somalia is being built by the people itself. Otherwise we could call all new Somali universities: copycats of Amoud. Question: Why is it called Nugaal University? Isn't it in Sool and not Nugaal? I think it's confusing. Why not Sool Uni?
  18. I once saw a Halimo who was about to kill a man with a knife, because that man didn't want his nephew to marry her. Nobody got killed, but let's just say that the house was a warzone the entire night. That was years ago. The Halimo has been banned out of everyone's lives ever since. Very scary shidh. Even I was a bit scared, let alone the rest ma garatay. That chick was crazy wulahi swinging with a knife like that. Grown men were screaming like little girls. If she brought her crazy girlfriends too, we would have all been massacred that day.
  19. Alhamdulilah my answer was wrong. I'm not a psychotic killer. I thought she hooked up with the guy and within a few days the guy told her that her mother didn't die because she just fell of the stairs. Her sister pushed mama. The guy is a plumber and was in the house when her mother was killed.
  20. @ Mali Music. Good one sahib. I'm busy exploring my people's music (Somali that is). I'm not planning to add some extra weight. But Youssou N'Dour and Salif Keita are my favorite Malinese artists.
  21. Originally posted by ALexus.: If these girls wanted to commit suicide, they would have used more serious weapon. However women are known to use lighter methods to commit suicide. Overdosing is common, it’s a form of wanting help from others. Maybe they don't want to die screaming and suffering with blood all over the place? But this is sad. These Halimos don't need therapy bullshidh. What they need is go back to Somalia and stay with Batulo the witchdoctor for a few months. Her tariffs are low, but the results are great. I can give them her number. And when they are healed, I'll give them mine.
  22. I hate it when they stalk you. Sometimes they don't leave you alone. Calling you while you're asleep, jumping on you when you come online. But the worst thing is that everything you tell them, their girlfriends know the next day. That pisses me off. You cannot trust her at all. If she has to choose who dies: you or one of her girlfriends. Start preparing your funeral. She won't even hesitate. I don't like how they overreact sometimes too. They take things the wrong way or get mad or disappointed when you don't say something that they want to hear you say at that exact moment. Like I can read her damn mind or something? wtf? Thanks I needed this. It's weird, I feel a lot better now wulahi. Women don't get me wrong. I don't hate you. But there are times that this Farah needs a break from you.
