  2. Stuff a sock in it? The hell does that mean? My contribution = My posts. Ma garatay? I don't owe nobody no nothing. I think all sections are lifeless whereas the Generals is breathing through a machine. Where are the mods? They're discussing bras and panties in the sports section. Guys talk about how to pick up chicks in the women's section. The jokes section isn't even funny. Camel milk debate: one visitor per year. People threatening each other's lives in the Politics section. Something needs to do be done!
  3. Ladies don't worry, Danyer is still keeping it real for the womanz. Just look at this girl! She is beautiful, but sadly high maintenance: $300.000 dollars. Her name is the Spyker D12 Peking-to-Paris. I'm getting carried away here I know, but I'm in love. It's not an SUV but an SSUV: the extra S stands for Super for those that don't know. You can't see it right away but this baby is a big girl. Goes from zero to 100 in 5 seconds, pretty good for such a heavy car. IA I will own a Spyker one day. This is what I call craftmanship.
  4. Originally posted by Blessed: Danyer, quote: Besides I read a book by a Somali author who would describe his accounts in both Somali and Ethiopian prisons. Very interesting. I'm interested in this book, can you tell me the title of the book and authors name. Thanks. The book is called Noloshu waa dhalanteed by Ahmed Salad Ganey. It's an autobiography and a very funny one too. His stories are hilarious. Especially when he describes his days in an Ethiopian prison. Each cell housed 10 to 20 men and a newcomer would be a marti the first few weeks provided that he entertains his new 'roommates' (most of them Somali political prisoners) with news from the outside world, stories, jokes and most importantly songs. After that (when he probably runs out of material) no more VIP treatment and he has to do his share of cleaning the cell and cooking the food with the group. The Somali prisons in contrast were like hell. Loneliness and beatings by Ciidamada Asluubta made sure that inmates would leave the prison with serious damage to their mental and physical health. If they don't get killed that is. The German-made Labaatan Jirrow Prison in Bakool and Godka Prison (Hellhole) were famous. Specially designed for political dissidents. It's despicable that murderers and rapists in Somalia prior to the collapse of the nation were treated better by the Somali justice system than rebels with a noble cause. The former were even awarded and became Guulwadayaal (Victory Pioneers) and were encouraged to continue their business but now with a license to do it.
  5. As someone posted earlier, what we really need is production but it seems we're skipping that step altogether. Blessed is right. Industry is the best sector to invest in for all involved parties in the long and short term. Somalia has witnessed the birth of small companies producing beverages, plastic bags, mosquito nets, soap, building material and sofort. The number is still growing so it's not like Somalis are skipping production altogether. Given that Somalia had no government for 15 years, we seem to defy political and economic orthodoxy. People don't decide how the economy runs itself, money does.
  6. Not so much negativity as skepticism. Anyone familiar with Western type malls is imagining that type of enterprise in a spot where incomes are most likely at subsistence levels. Again, an increase in disposable income and increased buying power are what lead to the development of malls not the other way around. The biggest mistake a Somali can do is underestimate the power of remittance money. Say 15% of the city with a population of 100.000 receives on average $100 dollars per month of remittances. 15.000 times 100 is $1.5 million dollars. $1.5 mln dollars pouring into a city like Galkayo monthly! And I came with modest numbers, the amount of money must be much higher. Money used by these households to buy food, clothes and other commodities. These investors simply want a big chunk of that steady flow of money.
  7. MMAqiyaarow. Sheekadaan waan xasuusan doonaa ehehe. Anigu isbaarooyin badan baan ka shaqeyn jirey, rag badan baana isla shaqeyn jirney. Dadweynahana weey ii jeclaayeen, oo hadba darawal marka la qasqashaadi jirey baan miskiinkaas iska badbaadi jirey intii awoodeyda igu jirtey. Baashi. Ninyahow meeshaad igu wadid shaki baan ka qabaa. War Somali poetry waa above my level. Mar aan isku dayey, walee faraheyga baan ku gubey. Hadana gabdho baa meeshaan inoo jooga, arintaan waxay noqotay dangerous yaah. Laakiin I'm a G - Geesi, marka maxaa iga galey hadaan iska tijaabo. Hayee waa balan inaan dhowaan gabay niin la imaan doono. Laakiin, wax aala wixii khasaaro ku dhacda magaceyga qaaliqa ah Daanyeer adaa ka mas'uul ah!
  8. ^ No this kind of masochist behaviour isn't prevalent in Somali prisons. Jailrape has nothing to do with homosexuality, its a weapon. Somalis don't understand that. Besides I read a book by a Somali author who would describe his accounts in both Somali and Ethiopian prisons. Very interesting. What a dilemma. If we're talking murder and rape here: the kid needs to do the time for this kind of crime. No question! But like Baashi I have a hard time knowing that a muslim brother gets repeatedly molested and raped in prison. African-Americans are running the show in that world and we are all aware of the existing tensions between AAs and Somali newcomers. That combined with the possibility that the Farah rehabilitates in Somalia and strenghten his diin, makes sending the Farah to the homeland not such a bad idea. But Naden's case is about assault and battery charges. This Farah, still a teenager, could qualify for being sent to Somalia. Now hold up, don't think he gets off the hook that easily. Seeing how he squandered the possibility to make something of himself and spending his time in Somalia!?! of all countries is punishment enough. That's how I feel...
  9. Blessed and Kashanre. I sure hope you two didn't study Economy with all due respect. I'll explain why. Look here, economic growth is fueled by investment. So if a shopping mall comes and penetrates into a market dominated by cardboard dukaamo, than that is actually good. It changes the economy for the better, think about professional service for instance and other new conveniences. So what relevance does these dukaamo's historical role have? Who cares about those tacky cardboard dukaamo? Those Somali traders need this development to wake up and step up their game or find another job. Their only competition are poor streetkids selling the same products for a fraction of their price and these kids are broke as the joke. So no threat there. Somalia's micro-economy needs to leap forward not inch forward and definitely not sit on its phat phuto. Castro. I must admit, the more I think about this project, the more ridiculous it sounds. CCTV, 252 meherado, 5 makhaayado, parking space for up to 150 fatuurado? Is Galkayo a friggin undiscovered metropolis or something. My goodness!
  10. Castro. I agree with you that one slightly lacks morale when you open up a shopping complex in a country where famine reigns supreme. I am with you on that atheer. With that said though. Your argumentation is a little bit sloppy and I think that you know that very well atheer. For instance: you assume that there is zero demand for this shopping mall in Somalia. Why would any sane Somali invest in something that doesn't stand a chance? Clearly (I hope for them otherwise) that there are people that would utilise the services provided by this shopping mall. If they make healthy profits, who are we to fingerpoint at these investors? Secondly, another geffe you're making is equating this shopping mall with opening private clinics and schools. As far as I know donating and investing don't have the same meaning. I sense a classic communist style of intimidating from you atheer. You sound as if you had killed the Romanovs with your bare hands. There are successful shopping malls in Mogadishu and Hargeisa. The success of these shopping malls prove that they are filling up a vacuüm, but at the same time provide employment - wether it be direct employment, the suppliers, construction workers and sofort. Not to mention that they attract wealthy Somalis in the diaspora to return home and in turn their sheer presence is a boost for the local economy. Finding this morally objectionale or even disgusting depends on the way you look at it and the hidden factors you take into consideration. Why condemn them if this is after all their private money? Some let it sit in the bank, others invest in stocks and others build a friggin shopping mall in Nairobi. Why the disdain for this investment solely on the fact that it shares location with the very same poor people (11 million in total now) that are suffering from starvation? Is that fair? Surely atheer you know where I'm coming from.
  11. Khayr I strongly advise you to abandon your hobby. Gardening makes you passive, something unacceptable in Islam. You are wasting valuable time that you could use for reading the Qur'an. Khayr you are getting softer these days. I suggest fasting for a few days to straighten you out. What's the matter with you man.
  12. Imam Ahmed Gurey no doubt and all the footsoldiers that were risking their lives in the 76-77 battle against Ethiopia. Also Hawo Tako and the Dhagaxtuur folks. And also hooyo for giving the Somali people a future hero.
  13. I agree with you, I don't see the logic either. But come on and let's wear the happy glasses. At least they're investing in their country. If they would build a shopping complex in the US, they would be praised. Let that marinade......
  14. Introduce yourselves please and tell us what might qualify you as a certifiable heathen... don't be shy now... can't be as appalling as a ladish girl wearing macawiis Imagining a woman wearing my macwiis, only my macwiis. No. Don't find that appalling.

  16. @ rehabilitation. Baashi with G I meant Geeljire! You knew that didn't you sxb. Now who needs the rehabilitation?
  17. No I really was a former militiaman turned supermodel in the West. Of course waa iska sheeko fanfani. But this character (a parody on The Moryan) is the concept of my weblog. I'll tell you more in private miskiin. [EDIT: Hell I'll just say it here.] Farah Blue's story (fictional of course but based on actual events) will be on Pace magazine for everyone to read Inshallah. If its a success it will be permanent on Pace. A lot of comedy, but especially reconciliation. We Somalis need to confront our history if we want to move on and find peace within ourselves before we seek peace for Somalia. Hopefully I can make more Somali individuals hate less after this. That would be a big accomplishment. I'll even consider making Farah Blue T-Shirts if this thing really hits off. But for now its only on my weblog Aduunka ©.
  18. Hold on I will, as hard as it is. My love for Somalia is unconditional. Inshallah we will see a new Somalia Baashi. I'm sorry for the f-words, but I wrote it in anger. Biiy Ees: Trust me. Danyer is always looking out for number one first. Inshallah returning with money, degrees and other qualifications won't be an empty promise.
  19. I was browsing the website Qarxis and I stumbled upon a song made by a group calling themselves Cedar Army. The song was called: I'm sorry Somalia. It started out good and brotherly till the division and all that bullshidh came into play at the second half and ruined the whole 'I love Somalia' mood. So I decided to write my own poem as a real Farah under my alias Farah Blue, because I see fake cats trying to come across as poetic warriors. I'm sorry my beloved Somalia, your children are tearing you apart. Its not your fault, don't worry. Inshallah we will have a new start. I promise you no one will ever belittle you nor will we never ever wrongly second fiddle you. We will come back with money and a degree to set Somalia apart, you know beloved Somalia your children know how to play this shit smart. I assure you Somalia, your beauty and efforts are not wasted on a fool. The real patriots don't care about politics or which stpuid cat aspires to fukcing rule. It is important for you and me to know that you are cherished and loved. Its a shame and disgrace that we sit back and watch as you're getting raped by the droves. Don't take our silence for weakness, you of all know that the Somali spirit cannot be soft. Inshallah we will all help the poor and rain will pour as you witness the arrival of the white dove. We will avenge the mistreatment done by the moryan thugs and the foreigners. You are a Muslim country, our lord Allahu Subhana Wa Tacala will defend you from Satan and all his demon barbaric warriors. 15 years of misery doesn't make no mothafukcing sense, this qabiil crap and jealousy has to find the door so that it some day ends. And as Allah is our witness, there will be no more truth these demons will be able to bend. I wish this message reaches the people to whom it was meant to be send. Our mission is to protect you, respect you and honour you like you deserve us to. Somalia, you are my home on this earth and I will never ever forget it boo. Just know my love is pure, Farah's love is only and solely directed to you. This was Farah Blue, reppin all Maliz and I would die for them as a real Somali warrior would do. Peace and milk to my people and extra prayers to comfort you. I'm out now, but I will always cherish the Bright White Star on the Sky Blue. SOURCE
  20. They way you're doing it is just silly. You have to try a different approach. Stop reading the words and listen. You can get Mocca Tissue out of Mogadishu or Beau Sauce out of Bosaso.
  21. QUOTE: The purpose of life: to live to die; only to die to live again. Everything goes back to its origin.
  22. Walaal. What's with the name changes 24/7? You change your names faster than I snap my fingers.
  23. * she say amin' and you walk away 'ATOORE STYLE (u know with the kuleeti up' sidii daraamandar) kix kix kix Hahahahaha. Ninyahow, you are talking now to a Farah who admits his defeat. I salute to you man, that was brutal. How can I learn this technique?
  24. So far i can see no smooth operators in here... Besides me of course War kan siduu iswaalwaalaya arag. So were talking serious now marka? This is turning into a competition. You want to see a smooth operator in action? All you need to do is whisper in her ear: By your side: To love you and to cherish you and be with you all my life. And for all times: To protect you and respect you and to spoil you like a job from 9 to 5. And all night: To couress you and to kiss you and to hold you very tight. No woman is immune to this. It's impossible!
  25. Tribute to our fallen heroes that used to make our enemies cry, bend to their knees and make them scream for mercy like squeeling pigs. Not like these lowlife scumbags of today that target their own Somali people. I'm talking about the real countrymen that would die for every inch of Somali soil. Our people has known desperate times, but these warriors would bring us a ray of hope through the dark clouds. Our most respected but mysterious hero Iman Ahmed Gurey made the Christian Farmers of the Highlands feel the fury of the Muslim Nomads of the Lowlands. Again and again, our neighbours seem to be rescued in history as we try to take over the Ethiopian Highlands and spread light in that dark terrain. First by the Portuguese and than in the 70s by the Russians and Cubans. As much as we respect Ethiopia, the land that gave refuge to our beloved prophet and his ashaab, we Somalis cannot act as if we are friends while they are dividing our country and occupying some of our people and doomed them to be second class citizens. On one early morning in 1976, tanks and armored personnel carriers were storming á la Blitzkrieg into Ethiopia. Their mission: Liberate the occupied Somalis. All odds were against them. Our army had the discipline, the material and the morale. Our airforce fleet was twice as large as Ethiopia's and 5 times more tanks too. Ethiopia did not stand a chance. They could run, but they could not hide. Region after region fell as the panic reached new heights in the streets of Addis Ababa. Dolow, Negeley, Jigjiga, Dire Dawa etc. The Somalis even came as far as reaching Nazrat, just a few steps away from their capital. The Halimos would make sure to make victory a certainty. Look at the fierceness in their eyes. I feel a tear coming up. At the end, this noble war turned out to be what the 6-day war against Israel meant for the Arabs. We found ourselves in a downward spiral. Our leadership, as ****ed up as it allready was, became worse. The disgusting government started to attack it's own people in the remote areas of Somalia. Stealing their livestock, poisoning their wells, massacring them and what not. Now we know where that path has led us. Sometimes I wonder wether we are cursed or not. Especially if you look at our people, so jolly and joyful, while we are the last people to smile about anything if you look at the rest of the world. Ilaahey dadkeena waxooda uu sahal. Amin. http://aduunka.blogspot.com/2006/03/farah-blue-remembers-our-warriors.html
