  1. eyl, unique village with a lot of proud history You'll forget that you're in Africa sometimes, it looks more like the Middle East or even Southern Europe beach of eyl (italians changed the name in to baia del negro during their colonial rule) dry riverbed My granddad's birthplace, the family used to own potato farms there in the 50s indian ocean camels I can understand why many gabay poems were dedicated to these beautiful creatures
  2. Personal images of the Tsunami-struck coastal areas of Somalia. I'd like to share the beauty of our country back home. mogadishu, farming settlement near no. 50 airport (lambar konton) sunset in garacad ostriches walking like supermodels in the friggin desert ilig (tooth), view of the indian ocean Its view is as beautiful as its history is horrific. In 1903, Seyid Mohamed and 700 local clansmen loyal to his Dervish movement tied the inhabitants to each other, beat them up and threw them off the cliffs to either drown or be eaten by sharks. pastoralism and fishing can go hand in hand antilopes in an enclosure baby shark this is salmon right?

Nice pics. I've been to Versailles, the palace built by the flamboyant Louis the 14th (can you believe this nigga had two stomachs), three years ago. His architectural style (large wings, big windows and amazing gardens) is the most copied one in the history of Europe. Bigger palaces were built in his style, but none of them surpassed Versailles' beauty. Versailles caused rapid modernisation in Russia and Morocco after the Russian Tzar and the Arab sultan were in shock and awe when they visited the French king at his court. They quite litterally came back to their people, saying: Why didn't anybody tell me his crib looks so damn good. I made a fool outta myself over there.
  4. Nice to read the coverage of Islii. Many close relatives live there and this reminded me to give them a call. Maybe even go to Nairobi in a few years time myself. Saw the website of the Amal Plaza. Very impressive! The story of Dalsan was bound to happen. If not Dalsan, some other company with hundreds of 'inadeer' investors would fall from its grace. There will always be some men who will shamelessly take advantage of the trust that is given to them. But this is probably the biggest scandal from Somali Business since the horrible stories about the service of the newborn Somali Airline companies.
  5. Well obviously not so obvious to me. Probably the fault of the thread it was in. The topic-starter isn't really helping you. I've seen the accusations directed at you. That post should be deleted ASAP.

I know you didn't mean his tribe. Nobody can possibly be that stoupid. With 'those who support him' I assumed you meant those who support him. Even if they are women and children rooting for him from their homes. Either way, with wishing people to be put to death, at least be more specific to whom you're referring to.

I believe in an eye for an eye if you refuse to stop. How i pray that we could be rid of all of them. I share your hate for warlords. But the last sentence about finishing off everybody who supports him was ridiculous.

  9. Devilangle. Get that stick out of your azz. Why are you hating on Somali guys? you children will look fabulous (our main reason) YOUR main reason. Not all Somalis are as ugly as you are. Don't blame us for your bad DNA makeup. You add complexity in marrying someone outside ur culture. Which is an extra challenge that u must concur thus making you a strong woman Yeah if strong woman means divorced single mother who secretly hates her own kids. You get to taste different type of foods thanks to your future husband. Some are gone be very tasty and some are gone sent you to the bathroom more frequently thus making ur digestive system ..crystal clear Ever heard of restaurants? You wanna try sushi, than go to a Japanese restaurant. You need to marry an indhayare for the food? Kan hunguri badnaa. To top it all off.... Last but not least…If he deicides to replace you, you can cut his ego( if u know what I mean) and tell the judge; I misunderstood him. I thought that’s what he asked me in his language.. Ok this might not fly with the judge but come-on.. you gone be a legend among women from both countries Ha. Ha. Ha. That was so funny!
  10. ^ Did I miss something here?
  11. We've seen this ad in Amsterdam today. I was fuking shocked! Originally posted by Intuition: White superiority again. Down with Sony. I personally think its inappropriate. Sony is owned by yellow people. Originally posted by Nomadic_Princess: They have got to be joking. Who in their right mind commissions an advertisment like that without realising its racist connotations. Bad publicity is good publicity. Large corporations have launched worse ads before and the controversy only enhanced the sales even further. It's just one of the many marketing tools you don't learn in Business school.
  12. I can't believe this. In night vision everybody looks white skinned, no matter how black you are. This kid is Somali. He could even be dhuxul black and most Somalis have caucasian facial features anyway. This is a joke!
  13. This Kenyan author wrote absolute bullshit. Young girls are wedded to guys from overseas all the time in Somalia and the surrounding Somali areas and it always turns out fine. It's not a Somali mentality to marry a girl only for the sex. Why would a Farah pay $3000 just for sex, gabdho cadaan iyo madow aa magaaladiisa degan that will give it up for free. He's looking for a family life obviously mostly pressured by his own relatives who introduced him to the girl's family. If Somalis were anything like this Kenyan wrote, our HIV-Aids rate wouldn't be only 1%.
  14. These Islamic courts are trying to get some well known Somali intellectuals to their side as cheerleaders against the interim government in Baidoa. Wadaadadaan caqli badanaa. Kitaab akhrinta maalintii oo dhan is very good for the brain.
  15. I can't relate to this. I remember back in elementary, we got a new classmate: a Somali girl fresh from the 90's civil war. She ended up terrorising the whole school as the most notorious bully in school. She even used to beat up boys older than her. She even fought my mother's little brother (only a year older than me), the most feared boy in school, and she fuked him up properly. When we moved to the other side of town and I had to go to a new school. I joined a kid-gang of 4 Somali boys (including me) and we bullied the other kids together for two solid years. I'm not proud of it. We once beat up two 'enemies' in the toilet and left them crying there. Of what I've seen, Somali kids are usually the bullies.
  16. ^LOL Now this is what I call integration. Spoken like a Somali.
  17. Shouldn't you be equally concerned wether Ethiopians reach Baidoa or Mogadishu?
  18. ^ LOL like African politics and economy, African football is to unstable. Originally posted by Nomadic_Princess: quote:Originally posted by Maf Kees: Kangaroo people. I hate to say I told you so. But I told you so didn't I? MK you made two predictions If i remember correctly. 1. Australia would be knocked out in the first round 2. We would suffer a humiliating defeat. You were wrong on both accounts. We may have lost, but it was by virtue of an illogical ref decision. Nomadic Princess and Jamilah. (my favorite kangaroo and my favorite koala) Ok maybe I was slightly off on the details, but I was right on the money. Always blaming the ref huh? Why won't you people from down under just grow up. This is not Saturday amateur match where this kind of behaviour passes off as cute, this is the world cup damn it. Go play with the Solomon Islands and Samoa and shidh.
  19. We'll see about that. I see you conveniently left out Mexico looool. Both my teams: Italy and Argentina are still standing strong. I'm telling you right now one of these two is going to win the world cup. Brazil is a hideous monster of a team, yet everybody's favorite. They will be dealt with accordingly anaaba ku leh. They're played out walahi. Can't wait to tell you: I told you so. Yeah baby!
  20. Kangaroo people. I hate to say I told you so. But I told you so didn't I?
  21. Dumb move by Paintsil. At best he tried to lenghten his stay at Hapoel Tel Aviv with this gesture. But that would probably be giving him to much credit. That flagwaving irritated me because he was spoiling the 'African victory' with that zionist flag that doesn't have anything to do with the amazing Ghanaian performance. Not because of the political sensitivities surrounding it. Its clear for all that the Arabs aren't upset as muslims but as ethnic Arabs, so I don't really sympathise with them. I was watching it with a large crowd of Somali guys. From this wonderful Pan African feeling everybody had to "war waa iska adoon, kheyr ma leh" and "jareerta waxay horumar uu gaari waayeen waa kaas, waa daciifnimadaan". Very sad.
  22. Ilaahey kheyr haa siiye gabadhaasi.

^ Ridiculous or not. If this is part of their strategy to lure the world's talented and wealthy and become the unofficial business capital of the world, than it's a ridiculously smart investment. Basically it can't get ridiculous enough. Like Rendez-Vous said, it's a grand scheme altogether.
  24. ^ Are you just arguing for the sake of arguing? The dude is obviously not a muslim. Besides I know many White-Dutch muslims and they all have muslim names.
  25. Which reminds me of a black South African being asked on the news what he thinks about the refugees. All he said was: "They are very very dark! Very very dark people". Ironically the South African himself was almost darkblue himself. Seriously you couldn't see the shape of his face.
