Art, it is obvious, and correctly may I assume, that you are a non-Soomaali and only interested threads dedicated entirely to Range Resources on this forum, and most likely always defending it. So, I have a simple question for you: Do you have any relationship with Range Resources? If affirmative, you have a conflict of interest in this board, and should have stated categorically in your first post that you have a relationship with this particular company such as being an investor or a shareholder or even a worker. That might have clarified a lot of things. None of the participators of this thread -- or any other thread on this forum -- is Soomaaliya-based. Almost all of us live abroad, outside Soomaaliya. So, everyone's conclusion on this particular issue is from what they read, what their relatives say, and what they think is right for their clan or sub-clan.

The paper also constructively critiques what its author finds to be mundane and lack of originality of some sites. Somaliaonline is one of few reviewed sites, and the only forum mentioned in the article. "Unfortunately, first generation Diaspora Somalis may have already lost much of the language, or blended it with other languages in their respective new countries. A recent observation of Somaliaonline.com, a popular blog for young, Diaspora-schooled, urbane Somalis around the world indicates a peculiar mix of Somali and English, already termed “Somenglish†by one blogger. A benign discussion about “Somenglish†leads to one of the members to exemplify “Waryaa yesterday ayaan ku soo wacay, and, you didn’t call me back. Maxaa qabanee tomorrow?" This member was quickly rebuked by another who disqualified that statement from "Somenglish", only to introduce his ideal one: "That’s not Somenglish sxbow. You want inaa ku speakgareysid Somenglish? Dhab of Maxaa, by the way, never changes to 'dhaw' in pronunciation. I don't think Dirirdhabe was named because of ascertaining facts or that of Baydhabo. The Maay dhab later acquired sexual reference in some contexts, laakiin waxaad iloowday it was a street lingo popularized by ciyaal xaafadaha Xamar, si loo kasin their conversations by kooytada ku cusub magaalada like...you can guess them who they were. I left that out because it isn't what the word meant and stood. "Waraa, bajaqdaan aan rabaa inaan dhabo nooh." They also said "waa ku dhawaa, walaahi" which in this context applies the correct word of 'beat you.' And no body says "ninku naagta inuu dhabo ayuu doonaya" because it makes no sense in ciyaal xaafad lingo. Mise reer gadaal ka gaar aa iska ahayd oo maqlay 'tanaa dhawaa.' Tell me since there is another word that too acquired sexual implications, which is 'taabsasho.' So, tell me, how do you say in gadaal ka gaar or kooyto lingo 'tanaa rabaa inaan taabsado yaaqeey.' Since both are supposedly one language, ereyada waa wada wadaagaan. Laakiin af Maxaaga lost plenty of its originality, changing them to foreign words. It was a common knowledge and widely acknowledged in the old days that a language on the coast is far more vulnerable than those in interior, that it can easily and heavily influenced by some elements of foreign languages. Thus Maay being an interior-based language, it had an advantage over its sister counterpart, Maxaa. It retains much of its original language structural than its sister. It still also has a strong relationship with its not that distant cousin language, Oromo. An example of influence is the foreign-introduced addition of letter 'kh,' which had in a way changed the formalities of Maxaa dialect. The introduction of 'kh,' which Maay doesn't have to this day, even threatened the very existence native letter of 'Q' in Soomaali. To this day, there is a rampant confusion about these letters. If we continque Maay words in Maxaa tiri places and tribes, one such word is dhaw [or pronounced as dhab sometimes]. In Maay, it means 'beat, fight, dirir...' [Intee seedaasa? or intee u socotaa, as an example] Its closest Maxaa counterpart might have been hormuud or hormood, but in this vanguard context couldn't be used.
