We can make arguments for some of the changes that are going to beneficial as such the PM issue. But I do believe elections should be ran by the states. Perhaps the federal government and political parties can observe the process. Political parties can certainly challenge the results in the court system.

Everyone agrees the constitution needed changes. Even Deni and Farmaajo would welcome it if they were in the driving seat. My worry is the concentration of power in one man.

This will decide if federalism gets entrenched or if Somali , becomes a city state run by HSM and alike. Unlike before, there is more than one strong member state and a strong opposition in the making. HSM's stunt might work out for the best as it might force everyone to eventually sit down and complete the constitution.

Nobody can trust HSM. Trust but verify, and the only way for Laftagareen to check HSM is to send his troops to Barawe and Marka.

This is not over. It is merely an attempt to extend his term, something Farmajo tried and failed. In practical terms, there is nowhere these amendments can be implemented.
