    Small world GAME

looooool I didn't know any body replied back to this. Really Haniif you?re nuts! Was any of that even remotely true? Because I honestly don?t think so, anyways I think I should have explained it a little better but Haniif had the right Idea. Like if I tried to connect myself to Rageh Omar, I?d say my mum is related to Rageh Omar?s Brother?s Wife who live in London ?lol I know it seems so lame now but you can try it with anybody and it?s so weird! Another one only us Uk people would know is Ashley Cole, like my brother was in the same class as Ashley Cole the England football player. I hope you get it now!
  4. I agree with princess because it does relate to you whether it's the way you feel in that moment in time or something you aspire to be. Right now I'm going through a little quater life crisis so I'm not sure what to call myself...lol
  5. Fir Tree (the Mysterious) — extraordinary taste, handles stress poorly, loves anything beautiful, can become depressed at times, stubborn , tends to care for those close to them as well as helping strangers, rather modest, hard worker, talented, unselfish, few sexual relationships, many friends, doesn't want foes, very reliable. Alittle muddled but it's quite true and very scary!

    What are We??

Does it matter?! As long as you are yourself, why do you care what others think?!
  7. Idil, I couldn't have said it better myself...It's like there's a language barrier here! Underdog, walaal I don't think you've been paying attention to some of my posts. Even though I don't like polygamy I accept it because it has it's purposes, however when people misuse their god given rights, then of course people are going to raise an eyebrow or two. So I'm talking about the majority and the majority of Somali men in particular who misuse the Islamic Law for their own gains! This view is hardly 2-D, I admit I wasn’t impartial as I should have been but I didn’t hide or lie about anything in my statements. The facts are there and are as clear as day, whether you choose to believe them or not!
  8. Somealien sis it's a common thing in London and Somalia and most guys have two wives some have up to four wives...It happens more than you know! Quote: "the reasons polyginists relationships dont work out are usually for the same reason monogomous relationships dont work out, the people going in it just didnt realise the work theyd have to put in." Walaal to be honest I doubt these men set out to put in any work at all! They think they can just get married and not bare any of the burden!
  9. Thanks for replying, but I feel like some of you have slightly misunderstood me...I know you're not all mind readers so I'll explain! It's not just the men who are at fault it's generally everyone who allows and accepts this sort of misconduct of religious laws. Okay I wasn't aware that in Islam that the man doesn't have to ask for permission but I believe that it's just considerate to at least treat your wife with some respect and tell her about issues that will affect her! I'm sure keeping things like this a secret will generally end up in disappointment and heart break! Ijabo, thanks and I do agree that there are situation where polygamy works out fine for all parties involved but with the Somali culture this is not generally the case! And this is what I was focusing on when I wrote the topic. I’ve never really thought about this since someone close to me did this and it caused a lot of problems within the family and I felt like it was a great injustice, because ultimately the deed is done and there nothing I or anyone can do about it, no amount of arguing or pleading will change anything and that is what annoys me the most, Feeling so weak and helpless! I’ve express my views to my family and God forbid if that was ever the case with my father I wouldn’t know how I would react, I’d probably disown him. I know that the problem won’t just disappear but… what can you do about it?!
  10. First I’ll being with the facts before I start expressing my hatred towards the whole ideology that men in this day and age have the right to marry up to four wives at any given time. Well okay I’m not denying the fact that Islam condones the whole practise and therefore is completely Halaal. But when it comes to the reason why men marry more than one woman you think …Mmmh should that be allowed? Well Allah knows best! From a religious aspect the original wife must be consulted before her husband marries a second wife, he must also have the means to support them financially, emotionally and physically. So that means sharing time with each of them equally and generally being equal with each wife as the prophet Mohammed (saw) did in his time. However our Somali men have managed to totally run a mockery of this once considered noble act. First they marry a second wife without telling the first wife, and then they have the cheek to not support them efficiently! Some will then marry four wives and due to their uncontrollable sexual desires divorce oldest wife and marry another at the drop of a hat! Solely because Islam prohibits them from having five wives. Some Somali men even think that it’s okay to go marry a woman in Somalia and visit her once or twice a year and each time manage to get her pregnant and then leave her to give birth and raise their children alone. With the only support being money which is sometimes sent regularly and other times whenever she phones and begs for it, then they’ll head down the post office and collect their income support and send them half of the (as they say “Gaal”) British government’s money. When I discuss this issue with older Somali people I’m usually laughed at and told “It’s religion, you can’t question religion!” Well who said I was questioning religion in the first place?! And that using religion as an excuse for not being able to keep it in your pants is hardly acceptable because I’m almost certain that the majority of those elderly Somali men going back to our motherland to marry young virgins of 18, weren’t thinking about Allah when they decided to marry the poor things (except for when they decided to call the sheikh!) So all in all I’d have to say that the Somali men need to realise that women aren’t sexual objects that you have use and misuse at your pleasure but we are individuals who have feelings too! You don’t see the older Somali women going around eyeing up younger men every chance they get! The way I see it is if you don’t like other men chatting up your wife, then don’t you think that she’d mind when you go off and jump into bed with another woman! Then there’s the whole issue with why older Somali men bother getting married anyways, why are they so selfish marrying younger women who are young enough to be their daughters! Even if they still are able to impregnate the woman then why subject that unborn child to a miserable and deprived life, where they’ll never have contact with their father or their father won't live long enough to see them get married and have children of their own! So keeping in mind all of what I’ve just said do you honestly think that in the Somali community that polygamy in this day and age is correct when Somali men are unable to support the first wife and children, much less a 3rd or 4th family and then have the audacity to divorce so readily and marry younger women?!
  11. Looking back i'd have to say that this was the weirdest topics i've written! http://www.somaliaonline.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=001677;p=2#000025
  12. How about Courteous... Thats 114% and Truthfulness =183%
  13. Hang you people are not giving London any justice! That William Blake Poem was from the 19th century and London has change a lot since. Okay fine after living here for so long you take things for granted! I see London as the most indescribably city in the world, where else would you find such a beautiful, historical, graceful, yet modern city? London is as multicultural as you can get, they welcome change and different cultures & religions with open arms. If London was a person on a timeline it would have one foot in the past and one foot in the future! Where besides could you find a city with such diversity under one big umbrella? There’s china town, Bangla town, a Jewish area, black areas, Turkish areas, Somali town(s)…lol!, Gay areas? There are mosques, synagogues, temples and churches side by side on the same streets! You’ll hear the adhan in Central London and nobody will even question it! If you don’t believe me just look at the pictures!
  14. Interesting topic!, I’m no Einstein, but God would I have loved to have been offered a place in Oxford or Cambridge...(that’s if they did my course in the first place!) Usually It's all about how clever you are, your heritage or how big your wallet is! It’s no secret that the place is full of snobby, rich blue bloods but I’ve heard that they’re trying to counter balance this by allow more people from ethnic and deprived areas into their universities. But of course it all comes down to your intellectual abilities at the end of the day! Lucky enough, my cousin manage to get herself a unconditional offer at Cambridge but can you believe she turned it down for a place in London School of Economics (LSE) I was completely shocked but she assured me that (LSE) is renown for her field and would then be wisest choice. But still I would have loved to see the looks on their faces when she turned them down! Anyways Somali-Chick, no matter what they say us Londoners are not weird. They're generally all nice and polite but I wouldn't suggest spending too much time with Somalis in general…especially the girls, but if you’re in Oxford I doubt you’ll be seeing many of us…lol! But good luck anyways!

  16. Scarface bruv I was not attacking you! I've just noticed that the youths today (including me! ) would rather be interested in the political issues affecting Islam than actually practising the religion! It’s just SAD that we’re more motivated to rebel for the sake of rebelling than essentially understand and performing the religion we’re defending…I’ve seen more Muslim people turn up to religious/political marches than to Friday prayers, why’s that I wonder? I’m not saying I’m a saint myself, yet I’m not go to shy away from stating the facts either. I’m in no way condoning what the “west” are doing my views on this from pervious posts are evident of this, so I’m not saying let them walk all over us but what am I saying is that awareness should be raised in a different method. This guy may have had good intentions initially but he can’t go around contradicting Islam like that without someone raising an eyebrow. I just think that it would be highly embarrassing, when a kufur comes along and points out this obvious contradiction. I doubt it would look too well on our part!
  17. Hey isn't insurance Haram...you don't know if you'll ever need it so what's the point. Why don't they just make people pay for the health care they get when they need it! Personally I think if the American government gave a toss about their people they’d set up a free National Health Service (NHS) but I guess they'd rather spend money on wars and kill people than save them! For goodness sake the they spend over a billion dollar a month on the war in Iraq, so how comes they can’t spare a few million for a free health service that’ll have more benefits and less of a death toll?!
  18. Someone please tell rudy that the Arabs invented luxury, they aren’t copying the west…It’s just their way of flaunting what they have plenty of…MONEY!
  19. so does MSSU mean MicroSoft Somali Union?
  20. I was born in Abu Dhabi, Left when I was two and have been living in London ever since! Oh, doesn't this prove the six degrees of separation theory?
  21. That’s the problem with Muslim youths these days; they've totally lost the meaning and foundation of the deen and have diluted it with hatred and culture. So it's not really about Islam anymore it's just a reason to rebel! And I was wondering about the following things: *Islam doesn't allow music so why use music to protest your beliefs anyways? *And if this guy who sang this song really believes he should jihad, then shouldn't he be out there fighting instead of singing about it and causing unwanted attention? *And to the guy who posted this, walaal scarface do you honestly think that this is what Islam is really about?
  22. Yeah congratulations Hanad for posing for us, honestly libaax you could have said why or atleast something! If I knew I could get so many people to congratulate me for just being me then I would have posted my picture on here long ago! lol...what made me laugh was that it was on 2nd page when someone decided to ask why!
  23. Hey, underdog i thought this website would be of interest to you! http://www.diamond.uk.com/cs/aboutus2.phtml this website is more factual than your silly sterotypical poster! lol!
  24. I think they've got the right idea, the small amount of muslim states left should be strict to their beliefs, when the gaalo are being strict with us in their countries! If they tell us not to wear the Hijaab in their land then someone should tell them to follow our rules in our countries!
