  1. The EU game is like the IGAD game in Somalia. A false security arrangement for Somalia that will ever be achieved.
  2. Peace Action, The Turkish Lira lost 20% for the last few weeks because of the currency attack from the gulf and others. The Guld and their alliance were preparing for the earlier election date of November 2019, to weaken the currency and start other regional problems before that date. Erdogan and the nationalist movement understood the ploy and called snab election to compliment the new presidential system. It was a good move to preempt the gulf plan.
  3. Holac, Brother you are right. We are following this crucial time i our history.

  5. For many of us this was one of the most important event of 2018. We have been praying for Erdogan during our prayers and the rest of the Muslim world was doing the same thing. In 2017, The Turkish nation was the most charitable nation on earth, bigger than the Americans and others. If you feed the poor and those in need around the world, the mercy of Allah will lift your nation. Folks, we are celebrating today. MashaAllah.

  7. Here is how it is done. You cast a wide net that will catch both the guilty and the innocent. Every Tigrinya will be a suspect. They must prove themselves to be innocent. I thought this Abiy guy was looking for nobel peace prize first and then purge the opponents later. OO must seek asylum some where.
  8. Exactly. The internal purge has begun. Abiy knows the craft well.
  9. If they blame Al-Shabaab who had never done any thing in Addis since their existence, then we are in serious trouble. That means with Farmaajo at the helm they might send more IGAD forces to Somalia and occupy the country for ever.
  10. Folks, let me put my intelligence hat and sift through these things. There were open revolts in Tigray and internal TPLF party dynamics who were making noise, yet in my opinion this has nothing to do with TPLF or Eritrea. Eritrea doesn't have the intelligence infrastructure in Addis. This is an inside job by Abiy Ahmed to target his enemies and consolidate power . It is the most effective way to expand your his internal security power. Starting this afternoon, Abiy will have a great excuse to purge the TPLF intelligence and security power. It is a short cut for total power consolidation. Pure and simple. This is straight from the books of the UAE, Mosad and those who installed him. In his speech after the attack , he said, " love, and unity will triumph against oppression. The TPLF will soon to be purged and their only option will be ether separation or surrender to Assisas of Eritrea, the man who allowed them to take over power in Ethiopia.
  11. Daahireetp, It is our hapless leaders who do not know history, culture and Somali pride who are short changing us.Why in the world would Farmaajo spend one hour at the airport to wait for a guy whose main aim was to send a false power and image to the Ethiopian public and UAE. As an Oromo man , we all thought that he would be less colonial than others, yet nothing changes. In one of his interviews, he said , " Somalia is changing alliances quickly. This Abiy guy is really speeding but might hit speed pumps soon. Sida Ifiye, sheegay wadan wada dal Axmaara ah ayaanu ku jirnaa. This Abiy guy , as I said months ago, is clone of many ethnic groups. For Somalia to rise up, there is no short cuts but hard work and real results in the ground. This culture of the typical Somali expecting huge profits without hard work must end. Ma maqasheen maahmaah reer baydhabood ah ama af Maay ah oo tidhaa wax u eeg " Ninmii dhalaalayaba nin baa dhoobada ugu jira" Soomaali Dhoobada in ay gash way diiday, qof walbana in uu dhalaalo ayuu rabaa.
  12. If you are the Mogadishu governor, people will treat you as such. Have you heard a Texas lingo about a cowboy " with big hat and no cattle" I said in my early statement about the visit that Abiy was just delivering some talking points from UAE .He was also projecting a false image to his audience back home as someone who delivered Somalia without offering nothing. We Somalis are fooled by the mercy , hope and respect the world leaders and the international community have shown the typical Somali leader who can't even control the capital city. THese Somali leaders have been given way more than they deserve. They usually believe the false red carpet and forget their situation at home. Certainly Farmaajo and company mastered about false image and propaganda. Yesterday we were all clamoring Ethiopia taking 19% of Berbera and now we giving up the whole country and it is projected as trading with Ethiopia. Raadkani waa shalay aanu soo marnay ayada oo uu geediga wado Hassan Sheikh. The more things change , the more they stay the same. Folks, real changes will not come through " Way Dhaqaaday" but real results on the ground. Besides why we attack C/weli Gaas and other regional leaders for not submitting to Farmaajo or whomever the leader of Mogadishu is.. For example, Gaas has more organized army, controls more territory and even more weapons. Yet out of courtesy , they are obeying someone who has less territory and power than them. The only reason they are accepting him as a president is because, the international community who bankrols both of them had ordered them to treat him as such. Balcad iyo Afgooye ayaa lagu dagaalamaya markaas baad rabtaan in Farmaajo lola dhaqmo Madaxweyne dalkiisu gacanta ugu jiro. Respect is earned not given. Last time Abiy was visiting a nation whose army protects and occupies it's territory, just like an American leaders making an unannounced visits to Afghanistan. Folks, stop being sentimental.
  13. Maakhiri A report is written in English doesn’t make it more credible. The so called 83 could be a made up story and exaggeration for so many reasons. First the Somalia of 1976/77 couldn’t have 83 high level officers in a one theatre of the war like Jijiga or surroundings area. The Somali army that went to war in 1977 was high quality in both soldiers and officers, and the numbers was smaller than later years where everyone become a colonial and general. It was impossible to had 300 or more colonels and captains in that era, and killing over 80 which could have been 40% of the Somali officer corps was impossible. Furthermore , Somalia of 1977 had a highly trained military intelligence who could have executed any mission without blanket massacre. Sheeko xariirta ay ka hadlayaan ee ah soo qora kuwa la dalacinayo, ka dibna waa la toogtay wax aqliga galaya ma aha. No army can just shoot officers without finding guilty of something. Again , in those days the system was working especially in the army. The logical opinion is that those who refused the order to withdraw were executed. If those men with their loyal soldiers came back home they could easily have taken over the country. The fact had shown that some those disgruntled officers who came from the war had staged the a coup which almost succeeded.
  14. Eritrea is not our enemy. We salute the tough "Jabhad" who despite a twenty year of isolation, survived and got stronger. Asias might even out last the fat gulf boys. OO, You must remember that both Trump and the gulf boys are not forever. As soon as we impeach Trump, these orphans will be their own. If I were Eritrea, I would stick to my demands and buy as much as possible. Because of geography, Somalis might fare better than Tigre.
  15. OO, Saudis? they showed up. that is enough. Iran almost eliminated Spain. I think the spain team is weak at the back. The line man did not point to off side nor the referee. You can't reverse that. I wish the Iranians pushed little bit hard after the goal. As you said, a tie was defeat for spain. Yunis, get the popcorn. Down with Germany. The new cry babies of Europe.
  16. Waa Cajiib. Now the boys at VOA are conducting Somali history through the phone without proper research. Since everyone is pitching his own version or unverifiable oral history, let me add mine. One thing we all must agree is that the Galaal guy is a bad character.I heard his name as a child around 1978 in small town at the border called Qulijeed. As a Child, I personally remember soldiers at the border town accusing him of ordering the killing of his own soldiers with even small pity things around Diredhabe. After the Diredabe defeat , he was the overall commander. Those who were killed in Garab Case were not 83 but only 13 or less than 20. There were others shot and killed in Hargeisa on the orders of Colonel Cirro and the coup plotters. They belonged to many different tribes. Those in Garab Case were two groups. One group refused to withdraw their positions after Somalia agreed to pull out. Since a huge sacrifice was paid to take this positions, they insisted on holding. THey thought they could defend the mountainous region. They were considered the best soldiers who fought the war valiantly. They were shot for disobeying the order. THe second group were shot on the orders from the SNA army command and general Galaal should have been the first one to know the order. There were a lot of conspiracies during the war. People had accused the Puntland coup plotters who failed in April 1978, to have sabotaged the war effort in order to deny Siyaad Barre the victory which could have made him not only a hero to Somalis, but a president for life. In 2000, when the Carta government relocated from Djibouti, there were a debate among the two trouble makers, the D and H block about the future command of the army. Since these groups distrust one another, people had suggested that a commander from a neutral clan should be nominated as the chief of the Army. ALlah ha u naxariisto , general Yusuf Tallan of Awdal, a graduate of West Point American academy was the consensus to lead the army. Galaal, who was dreaming for twenty years to be commander of the army , convinced that now is time to be the new chief since his cousin C/qasim. Salaad is the new president. In 2000, general Tallan was killed in drive by shooting in Mogadishu. The two men who were responsible were ssent to east Africa to hide. They were later arrested in UGanda, but later escaped from the jail. Only Allah knows who killed them, but some people pointed the finger to Galaal. Personally, I no have information about him in the war of 1991. One thing is for sure that general Galaal was the inner circle of the Somali army from 1969-1980.
  17. Folks, this is a full fledged " Jabhad". The trip was arranged ahead of time by the prime minister of the USF who is from Sanaag Bari. He had been in Puntland for weeks. The bald guy sitting in his right hand is Mohamed Dhiirane, the foreign minister from Alberta and Awdal. It is a big delegations with even Suldaan Cabdi Gahayr from Awdal..These guys represent the three largest communities in Somaliland. There are three options for Mr. Biixi. First, Biixi and company must dissolve the government and call for a new "Shir beeleed" to re-establish a new system. Neither the army, the public service, the courts nor other institutions represent the people. Dissolve the Jeegaan system and replace with something that is acceptable to all. Second option is to call for a new election. The third option a full fledged " Jabhad" that will start in Sanaag and will finish in Awdal. As I said before, Sanaag might fall before Laascaanood. Please spare us all the hardship and resign which could be the easiest option of all. Muusoow Jabhada waxa kaa xigaa waa inta lacagta Qadar ka Imaanayso. Taladu yaanay ku seegine ummada iskugu yeedh oo waxii aad boobtay fadlan iska soo celi, khayr Allah ha ku siiyee.
  18. Folks, let us mix football with politics. Are you watching the world cup in Russia?. It seems this cup is more interesting compared to the last ones. More goals , more entertaining games and probably the sudden fall of the giants. Mohamed Saleh and Egypt were destroyed by Russia; Morocco had scored a goal in its own net and the saudis are decimated, while more punishment is also awaiting at the hands of Luis Suarez led Uruguay. As fate would have it, both Morocco and Egypt scored to their own goal. While these players could be innocent, millions of Muslims and Egyptians are cursing their leader for his massacres of the innocent and the inhumane blockade of poor Palestinians. Who knows, the prayers of the faithful might have been answered in mysterious way and the Saudis, Egyptians and to smaller extend the Moroccans were humiliated in the eyes of the world. Still more defeats to come for these nations. The demise of the giants: Germany and the angry Messi. Soccer powerhouse Germany is defeated by Mexico, and judging by the cards, they could be eliminated soon . Here is why?. The Germans , like Trump and right wing Dutch politicians, were making mountains out of little mole hills. Few weeks ago when Sultan Erdogan visited U.K he met two German national team players of Turkish descent. Out of courtesy , the two players Mesut Ozil and İlkay Gündoğan , who play in the premier league took pictures with president Erdogan. Then suddenly, the German media got crazy and accused the players for betrayal of Germany. Even some fans vandalised the personal car of Gundogan in Cologne Germany. After the Mexican loss, right wing politician and others are calling that these players should be dropped from the German team. Even former German captain loather Matheus , who should know better, joined the Nazi crowd and now questioning the efforts of Ozil in the pitch. This shows how the Great German team and country are scared of the rising Turkey. In the real world this should never be an issue especially how Ozil contributed to the last German cup winning team. Because of these and the Neo Nazi crowd booing Ozil, I expect the Germans to go Down. Weak temas belong to weak minded nations. Messi and Argentina will make to the second round, but might not go that far. Messi is acting like angry and cursed man. Expect more missed penalty and even a red card after an angry outburst. I expect more misery for Messi. The stars are aligned for Cristiano Ronaldo. He got an early penalty against Spain, shot another weak shot which ended in goal against one of the best goalkeepers in the world and finished with smooth free kick that earned him three goals. Even my buddy Erdogan prefers Rolando. During an election rally, a Turkish Youth asked him which one is the greatest between Messi and Ronaldo. He said, "I really am a fan of Ronaldo. If you are asking, 'Ronaldo or Messi?' I see Ronaldo much more distinctly. "His performance, character, faith and, above all, his [stance] on the Palestinian issue are very important. I applaud him for that." Well , now Ronaldo is our team and we hope he goes as far as he can, although his team is weak. So far the most complete team is Spain. The Nigerians are playing individually not as a team, and the Senegalese got a great team with quality passing. While Marcello is great, The Brazilians are weak at the front with a pussy called Neymar, and will be destroyed by any strong European team. My prediction for the final four is. Spain France Senegal England or Portugal.
  19. Farmaaj is not a tribal man( Nin Qabiil ma ahan). This is the first interview where Farmaajo explained his approach and strategy. His weakness is the lack of confidence and the fear of being accused of tribalism. Everyone knows that things are improving in the capital, yet, at the moment, Somalia doesn't have the capacity to control it's borders, enforce it's constitutional mandate or guarantee open trade. When asked about the Ethiopian deal, he said, " those who oppose the deal want to keep the old ways". That means those who disagree with his policies are " Dawlad Diid". That is wrong. At this moment, before we help Ethiopia, we have to help our selves. Finally, I would like to advise the president to speak to people from time to time and address the major issues facing the nation. Reer Hargeisa ayaa wakhtigii Cigaal ayaa waxa ay odhan jireen, " Waar yaa naga aamusiye". Wakhtigii Rayaalana , waar yaa ka hadalsiiya. Marka Mr. Farmaajo bal mar mar dadka la hadal.
  20. Maakhiri1, We have been hearing these for three years. Like the energizer bunny, it has been coming, coming and finally here. Lix billood lka hor ayaan moodayey in shaqaalihii la soo wareejiyey . Any way it is small step that took five years, A country like Somalia needs bigger achievements in order to rise from the ashes. i have never heard a leadership of a country saying that we will fix our security issues when we train 50,000 soldiers. In the real world you use what you get and secure the border. Anyway, Farmaajo got eight months to show real progress or he is doomed.
  21. I have to take my hat of to Abiy Ahmed. He ihas been office in less than hundred days, yet his reforms on economy, foregny policy and military is felt throughout Ethiopia and the region. he said most of the loans were consumed by piublic companies. Now , that is what real change means rather than rearrange the titanic deck.
  22. Of course. An Oromo prime minister supposed to have a different outlook than a Tigray or Amhara , that is given, but I read these issues in totally different lenses. I also agree that there is no need to blame Ethiopia for looking after their interest. First, the issue has nothing to do with trade. It is all about imposing a false image of Ethiopian power to show those who bankroll them, whether it is UAE or others , that a weak Somalia could be persuaded to many impossible or unfeasible ideas at this time. Ethiopia per se, doesn't build it's own infrastructure with their own money. Their high ways, dams, the train from Djibouti and others are mostly paid by Chinese loan and foreign loans As we speak , their foreign currency exchanges have depleted which is why the UAE is depositing a billion dollar to shore up. A beggar nations can't spare any money to others. As I said, the main problem is the Somali leadership and those who are probing them. When I asked those who are on the know on these issues, the answer we are getting is simple and familiar for most Somalis. A weak and venerable Somali leader is asking favors for an exchange to give away the Somali shop just like the one before him--Hassan Sheikh Mohamuud. Those who are on the know told us that Farmaajo had asked Abiy Ahmed to keep out the regional leaders and deal only with federal government in exchange for giving the ports to front companies from UAE and Ethiopia. Isn't that the same thing he asked the last prime minister Desalegn?. Madaxweynayaasha kale iga celi , aniguna dekedaha iyo waxii kale ee aad rabto Ayaan kuu xaraashi. At least, Siilaanyo and Biixi got few millions in their pockets and the promise to join the gulf coalition .Despite the bad deals they signed, they did not hide their intension to join both to Ethiopia and UAE. He is basically asking a foreign power who had worked overtime to weaken the Somali state to prop up his power. The legitimate leader of Somalia is asking all kinds of help from Ethiopia,. If that is the case, then why would we blame Somali regions and tribes who want to survive in the age of conflict and uncertainty? Farmaajo should now that there is no short cut to bring the Somali state No one can dig you out of the mess but yourself and the Somali people. No Ethiopian help, American drones, or the work of foreigners will bring Somalia back. Bal is weydi oo waa maxay go'aamada qadhaadh ee aad qaadatay si aad dalka u so celiso. Mucaarad la eedeeyo iyo reer hebel baa I hortaagan kaama saarayso. Aakhirka, halbeegu waa maxaad qabatay. Shaqo culus iyo go'aamo qadhaadh oo lagu afgembiyayo fawdada sodnka sano soo socotay ayaa lagaa rabaa.Dad badan waa In ay qayliyaan , oo aanad u joojin geediga. Three regional governments (Hiiraan, Galmudug iyo Koonfur Galbedd) reside with you in Mogadishu. Each one of them must fly to reach the capital since roads are dangerous, yet they claim to be " Maamul" Finally, a government that resides at the Mogadishu green zone doesn't have any mandate to negotiate future Somali ports or trade with neighbors. I In this transition time, Since you are the legitimate and recognized government of Somalia, your main goal at this juncture is to defend the territorial integrity of the country including the maritime borders in the international arena and the UN. Inta laguu imaanayo, dalka iyo dadka na sii gaadhsii oo fadlan ha xaraashin.
  23. UK, a small island in Europe has more GDP than the combined GDP of the Arab league. In fact before the oil boom of the last fifteen years, the GDP of Spain was almost equal to that of the Arab league. If you got the land, the sea, the agriculture , mining and strategic location, you must build your trade routes. Huge wealth could be created quickly, but one must know and believe that the nation and it's wealth is enough more than the small hungry tribe who fears poverty.
  24. Of course , if people unite their "Quluub" and trust in Allah good things will come. On the issue of printing money, I was hoping that Somlia would adopt a new or revised currency with logical and feasible money which must be different than current denominations which is too much to carry for everyone. So far what I heard or seen is they just want to keep the same old money and add a 5000 paper denominations. . OO, that is exactly how they should be judged. After two years of running around and projecting certain image , if they can't pass Afgooye or Balcad, they must be considered a failure. If they can not pass the Mogadishu green zone , they have no right to talk about ports or other problems rising from this region. Of course Farmaajo should welcome him and play along, but he should know that respect for the republic is earned with us Somalis. He should know that a false image or propaganda will not replace hard results on the ground. The fact is the so called ports issue must wait until Somalia earns a government that could defend its legitimacy and enforce its constitutional demands. Everything else is the usual " Xadhig Jiid" of Somalia. OO, The Saudis have a short term goal defeating the Houthies in Yemen, and they are willing to bring as much ma power they could get. The defeat of the Houthies will happen sooner or later. The Houties must accept truce or get crushed because as a northern minority, they can not rule Yemen by force, and Iran must not be allowed to threaten Meca and Medina. We all agree on that.So far no one knows the real intensions of Asais of Eritrea. He survived a 20 year of embargo and isolation, and now he might get his wish what ever that is. Certainly Djibouti will lose. Everyone knew that Djibouti dictator Cumar Ghelle was eating more than he could chew. We all knew that you can not domesticate America and China to play in the same playgrounds as friends while they are competing for global leadership. You can't rent your country to the whole world without paying a price like prostitutes. Insignificant entities like Somaliland who based their whole existence through one single port--Berbera-- targeted to Ethiopia will also lose economically. The world market is bigger than the Gulf Arabs. The Somali agricultural products and livestock could go to China and Asia. There are 200 million Pakistanis just across the Indian ocean. Folks, Somali ports doesn't revolve around Ethiopia. Imported goods could exports through well organized airplane cargo system to Uganda, Rwanda and other land locked countries. The world GDP is more the 50 trillion, and you could get some of that through trade. Yet, if you are mesmerized by the few millions thrown by the rich gulf boys, and lose the main focus of getting the country to it's feet, then you are doomed. Farmaajo should know that the only parameter that he must be judged is: Does he in control of country?, does he pacified the capital, Shabbee, Hiiran and Jubba?, not how many security relations you signed with Kenya , Ethiopia or Qatar. The good news is Farmaajo got another eight months before his second anniversary to work harder and improve things. If not, by then, some of us will be coing after you with our big knives out. You are warned. You either will be a Somali government with reasonable capacity or Mogadishu green zone government .
  25. Ducaale is weak. Just a cowboy hat with no cattle. Under Uhuru and Ducaale, Somalis had suffered a lot. Too bad he replaced a tough guy Farah Macalin who was feared by the Kikuyu.
