But that does not mean the center will get someone who will allow it to dominate PL politics. It should pray it gets a sensible person who understands what powers are to be had by the Federal government and what by the regions. As we stand, Faroole doesn't understand. He might be crazy, but he is crazy like a fox. He used the strange Jubaaland obsession by the SFG to his benefit and now he is parading as he hero of federalism and the protector of a certain segment of the population.
  2. I thought a state can only consist of two or more provinces. I don't think that this state holds the same importance so the SFG will not even acknowledge them, anyway congratulation to them, may they prosper and have great relations with their neighbours. Question: Where in the hell is this state?

Not a red cent will be given to those who attempt to undermine the government. Not a penny will go towards their development when they are causing problems for the central government. I applaud this government for focusing only the areas that matters. House of HAG for life. You're not helping. The guy is not president for life, his term will end in few years and this project most likely will not start by then, they could've said that they'd rebuild from Kismayo to Galkayo or Garowe and built from Mogadishu to Gaalkacyo only. You've to know how to placate people even if you give them nothing.
  5. Saalax;961401 wrote: Stop being cry babies. Remember you are refusing the legitimacy of Culosow, why would he develop your areas when you openly challenge his government. Let him develop HAG areas as they are the most loyal to the government and Bay and Bakool. This will not help strengthen the Somali government in the long term. The president has a mandate to be president of all Somalis and shouldn't limit himself by becoming the president of a clan.
  6. Great articles. I was surprised by the level of antagonism in the hiiraan article comments, to me the writer made reasonable suggestion.
  7. Actually this article is from the AEI, a right wing American think tank.
  8. I love the fake outrage, OK my turn. How dare those Piratelanders tear the Somali flag (with the picture of the president), they should secede since they are not Somalis anymore.
  9. The plot thickens, but I'll wait until a less biased source confirms the news. This follows the defense minister story and whether the Baasto guy is a government agent or not, I wish other regions in Somalia got that much attention.

    Somalis

Somalis are an example to what fabricated clans and lineages would do to people. People who are identical in every way can still hate each other because they think they are better for one reason or another.

THATS HUGE BIG DIZZING!!! I guess, thats their thanks to our dead brothers who lost their lives to free them!! WHAT A WORLD WE LIVE IN!! People need to calm down. It's disgusting to read stuff like this in this day and age.
  13. I was born and lived in the UAE most of my life and looking back at my family it's obvious that it's not easy to raise a family there. You're a transient in the ME, you can't establish any roots there and after years at any moment you have to leave. The locals are arrogant (and racist) and the disparity in wages is comical. If you graduate from the same university expect to get paid 20% of what locals get paid there. At least you can think about the future if you settle in the west but in the end the upbringing of your kids is your responsibility, you can't shift the blame to society.
  14. They should call this forum Jubaalandonline.
  15. To tell you the truth it looks like a big village. There's potential but it will require a lot of work.
  16. The whole country is infested with Al Shabaab and these guys are wholly focused on Jubaaland. Mogadishu still can't secure itself without foreign troops, why don't we focus on that?!
  17. Any group that thinks they are superior and tries to dominate political discourse is a danger to this country. I see why Puntland is angling towards a confederal system where states have most of the power, I don't blame them if shadowy groups are holding sway these days.
  18. I guess the evil Khatumites (according to Salaax) finally managed to ruin things in Mogadishu, horrible people.
  19. That's a good start, I hope they patch things up.
  20. The way this president operates doesn't bode well for the future, but I think it's smart for him to establish personal relationships with all foreign delegations, since it's obvious that he has trust issues.
  21. I wouldn't touch this guy with a 10,000-foot pole.I can feel the sleaze oozing from him.
  22. They don't need propaganda, if they cover the situation truthfully it'll be clear that Somalia is divided.
  23. Somalis and their "I'll throw my toys out of the pram" mentality. I can understand the Jubaland issue since it's an ideological+tribal issue but if every region's elder start behaving like children then there is no end conflict in Somalia.
  24. I would like to visit Mogadishu one day. P.S. People should provide links to articles.
