  1. Bump, we are waiting for the rest of your experience back in the old country.
  2. When this federal government stops dragging its feet and starts to accomplish what it's mandated to do then I'll trust them to form the federal states.
  3. Where do people find these ridiculous ideas? XX, what is the source of this idiotic notion? Who is this administrator?
  4. Wishing and hoping accomplishes nothing, You can't fix Somalia from the top down you've to enable the people to solve their own issues and for the regions (states) to develop organically not by decree.
  5. Both sides love to post articles when bad things happen to the other side, though I find the gloating more prevalent on the Somalilander side ( As they consider themselves more civilized and peaceful than the rest of Somalia).
  6. Isn't that a little bit premature? Maybe you meant a "declaration of statehood" or an agreement to form a state or something.
  7. I never imagined that I'd say that Somalia (excluding Somaliland maybe) would've been better off if Siyad was still ruling. Being ruled by a dictator is better than even a minute of anarchy.
  8. Where the muggers political operatives or something? I don't what this is doing in the politics section.
  9. Unfortunately Oba you're the one who is feeding tribal hatred in this forum, the article is full falsehoods mixed with some truths and the writer of the article showed her ignorance by claiming that NFD and "Zone 5" belonged originally to Kenya and Ethiopia (but they do now unfortunately). I'm not a southerner (thank god) and don't understand your hatred towards the aforementioned clan, but if you keep going on with this you'll reduce the chances of ever being any peace in the South.( Live and let live and I really hope that the oppressed people in the south get their justice and become empowered in the future, although it doesn't seem to be happening with this "federal" government)
  10. I really shouldn't be commenting on a southern dispute but despite the empty saber rattling done by the SFG the main architects of the conference should do even more to appease the president somehow.
  11. The whole region is very promising in terms of oil reserves. I hope they find billions of barrels and the great investment rush begins. I actually prefer the Turkish company to the Australian/Canadian one in Puntland, despite their newness they seem to do a lot.
  12. Ministry of rehabilitation? Bwahaha ...from what? Qaad? They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no, no, no'
  13. My only hope is that there will be no bloodshed in Kismayo, the people suffered enough. If those troops were ordered by the SFG to go there then the is a great betrayal of the Somali people and a return of the policy of intimidation and terrorism, if it's a faction of the Gedo clans trying to gain a bigger foothold in Kismayo then they are greatly misguided.

What a shame, I thought you were a civilized person. People should just express their condolences when they hear about these stories, not show their tribal savagery and revel about bad news.
  15. People should stop arguing about secession with Somalilanders, you can't convince them or change their minds, just talk about real developments and actual news and watch them blubber with rage. J/K
  16. Xaaji Xunjuf is a better person than I expected, kudos. I wish other Somlilanders shared your views but unfortunately the majority seem to be of the bloodthirsty type.
  17. Waste of money, Somalilanders just got Abramoffed. Looking at their history they might be of help after 2016 since they have a close relationship with Hillary Clinton if she wins.
  18. The president didn't do anything wrong to be impeached, unfortunately all the optimism is gone now and the accomplishments of the previous government will not help him longer.
  19. Xaaji Xunjuf, nice articles you got there. It's really frustrating to see from a far the failure of this government to encourage reconciliation and build trust with local governments. All they seem to do is drag their feet and issue proclamations.
  20. Don't you think that's a little bit too late? Why didn't they try to do that when the city was freed? When you have a government that is reactionary you have the recipe of a failed government.

Somaliland is damned if they do and damned if they don't, they are in a precarious situation and they have to make a choice, I just want them to make the more interesting choice.
  22. Dr_Osman, stop hijacking threads.
  23. Mintid Farayar;929950 wrote: An accomodation with SL seems the easiest route to attaining this. As you allude to in your previous post, the cruelty of geography makes the region dependent on either SL or PL. So what's the solution? I think it's the other way around, the survival of Somliland is dependant on winning the hearts and soul of the people of Khatumo. Somalilanders are idealists in rhetoric but unfortunately they are as clannish as the south or Puntland when it comes to their politics. There is a siege mentality being shown here by Somliland posters, they are exhibiting increased interest in the affairs of Somalia and try to minimize the time bomb that is awaiting their dreams of gaining recognition.
  24. I hope Somaliland doesn't attend, I would like to see what happens afterwards. There is a lot bravado in Somliland, I wouldn't mind if they are humbled a little bit.
  25. I really don't care who is the president of Somalia, I hope that we reach a point in the future that it become inconsequential ( especially if the federal project works).
