  1. NGONGE, i' relying on you to beat 187 in the next match, get your tactics right and do what you have to to beat this arrogant manager. Just hope i beat Waxaro
  2. ^^ Saxib that is a conclusion i have come just recently. Think about it. Every Arab country is now developed or still developing. Who orchastrated the developments?. With all that is going on in the UAE, who actually designs, engineers, constructs, consults on all the projects going on there at the moment? Yes, non-Arabs. Its got to the stage where Arab countries employ foreign firms to do 100% of the works. Now coming back to the topic of whacko jacko, why would: a) the Bahrain officials invite him? b) how do they see this being an investment opportunity (most investors will run a mile if they realise jacko is in town) c) neverland will mealt under the summer heat d) oh yeah, they will get some foreign firms to construct jackos new house because they do not have the knowledge to do it internally
  3. Recently met a Somali on transit, he was on his to Osaka, Japan, with his young half somali/japanese family. He said he wanted to get as far away from Somalia as possible, but i think i managed to engrain a seed in his mind to try and settle somewhere nearer, like Dubai
  4. Having observed a strange but true characteristic among muslims in a country i have barely lived in for 3 months, i have come to a sad conclusion that many of our brothers and sisters have become somewhat content. It is evident in arab countries that many people are simply going through the motions without the feeling or conviction. I'm not saying there are 'better' muslims living the west. but the 'believers' in the west seem to be striving while here people have taken much for granted. Can you beieive we were performing salatal tahajud in one single row (which wasnt even complete) during the final days of Ramadan. At this point i was almost in tears and wished i was back in the UK where the mosques would be nearly full. You also witness all this in the general conduct of people who are rushing in and out of the masjid for prayers rather than taking their time. You walk up and down the malls and realise that many people in the middle east are attracted to everything american. I once declined to sit with someone in starbucks. He was surprised at my reasoning as he had never know this plus i have coffee at home i hardly ever drink. The teenagers are pro-hiphop. Now with all this comes thoughts of just how much do they 'really' know about the west and its ways? We (myself and co-worker) recently had a debate with a few brothers about the banning of eating/drinking and smoking in open areas (streets/malls etc) during the month of Ramadan aimed at non-muslims. We argued that this wasnt necessary as you should be strong in you faith and fast without being tempted even if one is eating infront of you. They disagreed. This became a huge debate in all the local media. Another thing is the open acceptance of taking and receiving interest which is just unbelievble. Things like this have made on think. Yes it easier for me to live here and become a better muslim but at the same time my surroundings are not what i expected but i will carry on. Next stop is saudi Arabia but i think this will be more difficult to convince others of Not one to judge but hey ps excuse my spelling errors
  5. arabs will never surprise me on just how dumb they are
  6. No other religion which can claim to teach tolerance, pluralism and respect for the other as beautifully as Islam. Here is just one example and I challenge Mr Tony Blair to produce a similar text from Christian sources that specifically recognise other religions. "Those who believe, and those who are Jewish, and Christians and the Sabians, -- any who believe in God and the Day of Judgement and perform righteous deeds, shall have their reward with their lord; on them shall be no fear, or shall they grieve". (Qur’an, 2:62, 5:69). It is true that there are verses in the Qur’an that advocate taking arms in self-defence – as the Iraqi people are resisting foreign occupation of their land. Yet these verses are taken out of context and deliberately misinterpreted as to advocate violence in order to smear the Qur’an and Islam. Contrary to Christian teachings about Prophet Mohammed, Muslims revere Jesus and recognise his miracle. The linking of violence to the Qur’an is deliberate and designed to incite violence and prejudice against Muslims. Muslims are not interested in changing Blair or Bush "ways of life". The opposite is true. It is Blair and Bush who are interested in changing not only the Iraqis ways of live, but also other people ways of live and impose an imperialist- Western model. 7. Just last night i was reading a little about the crusades. This programe would have been interesting. I also recently boaught a DVD, KIngdom of Heaven, i tried to play on my machine then came to the realisation that my DVD player is from the wrong region, therefore i waisted my money  Today i started reading a book called the road to mecca by Mohammed asad (a jewish re-vert), the book's first chapter is an essay on how the west is influenced by the crusades when thinking of Islam. I will post IA
  8. Seriously, have any of you felt such overwhelming hatred, that you burn with the desire to cause GBH? On toward the TV during the odd game or two I see London hasnt changed, but i still miss the old place somehow. Life is a little slower here but miss the train ride into central London. Being part of a Major metropolice. Yes it does have its downsides but i'm looking forward to seeing it again. But only in the summer . For all you frustrated people, 2mrw i shall be going back to work after a 10 day break for Eid which was spent eating, on the beach, eating again, playing footy on the beach, eating more and shopping
  9. What am I going to do about it? The same I've done about all the rubbish coming from Somalia: get outraged, become sad, make a prayer and move on. Clearly its the impotent approach. I have an idea of buying a speed boat and patrolling those areas as coast guards of the Somali Rep, what do you think? How much money do you have? I hope your handy with a rifle as criss-crossing the indian ocean.
  10. Modesty, we are talking about France, not Sweden. The Swedes are one of the most hospitable people you will ever meet. Tuujiye, your theory is exactly that, your theory. What are they being punished for exactly? for living in a country that is racist to the bone? Maybe they should move to Canada where allah may not punish them  ps congratulations
  11. One should visit the suburbs of Paris to understand the situation. The French are the most racist people you will ever encounter but then they have a 90% black world cup winning football team  Yet their national stadium, Stade De France, is in the middle of the infamous St Denis. If you are an Arab or Sub-saharan African in France you will be viewed as one from the colonial countries hence the riots and why arabs and black africans stick together. LST, the UK adopted what was called the Urban Renaissance in 2001 which saw huge investment and redelopment of many inner cities. This has resulted in the trickle effect where community members have found work within their respective 'projects', local businesses given grants to sprouce up their premises, traffic calming measures, new housing etc etc. All this in addition to the new deal (finding work is a must) and PFIs in schools/hospitals etc, has made britain a better place for non-'brits'in inner cities. Thing have become easier since Labour have been in power
  12. "I could tell the guy firing the bazooka was smiling." Probably has a cigar in his mouth at the same time  Needless to say, I dropped the camera and dived. The grenade struck two decks above and about four rooms further forward. They shouldnt attack cruiseliners but i would have no qualms if they chased away nuclear dumpers and fish hi-jackers who are constantly prowling around those areas.
  13. Well this is news to me but i couldnt help but laugh at these pictures vs I was actually on a similar boat the other day, its pretty nippy and can travel at around 40mph, with enough petrol you can carryout one or two 'operations' using your tactfulness and knowledge of the waters I dont know why we are making a big deal about this, is it maybe because the world knows of our sorry excuse for a country? is because we have been shamed on international tv? would there be such an outcry if this hadnt have made CNN? I dont think so,,,,,,,,, We all know the problems back home and nobody is doing anything about it. It will also take time to correct (15years of anarchy).
  14. First of all i hope you all had a nice Eid, but it will not compare to the Eid i had 187's Soldiers team suffered a humbling on with their first loss of the season (just like Chelsea) to Liverpool FC. The lead is shared between Soldiers and Indomnible Lion (20 pts) with Maruaders on 17pts, Liverpool on 16 pts. 187, bring on the return match
  15. It will be an interesting game at the bridge in a few weeks time vs Lpool Man Utd vs Chelsea will be big game
  16. 187 bring on your Soldiers it will be a case of -remember remember the 5th of November . Soma Inc, stop hating bruv i have been logging on less than usual but my tactics have been spot on lately. NGONGE, i noticed i beat you 3-1 last week
  17. Well i have been living in the ME for 2 months now and have found it surprising just how much they love American products/shops/shows etc. They are not as informed as one may originally think. As for the Omars, what would a Somali family be called? The Abdis?
  18. Eid mubarak to all have a pleasant few days and dont over do the shaha iyo xalwada
  19. Slowl closing in on the lead after a lacklustre start. Watch out 187.
  20. I see some insults have been thrown around here truth hurts huh  Stop talking of nationalism when 'your' nationalism in the past was a completely differenct thing. Nationalism in support of Siad Barre has dramatically changed to nationalism in bringing Somalia together again. True nationalism practiced in the first instance may not have required 'renewed' nationalism now. Good luck in your 'nationalist' cause and i hope more ppl believe you when you tell them you are true nationalists.
  21. what a reaction Sky says: This was in the end of the 70s What about the 80s??? Ahh i see, a case of 'its not our problem' lets be nationalistic (or gabilistic) for Adeero's sake Mess up the country and then talk of nationalism a decade later  give me a break.
  22. Puntland will not want to be independent in the name of Nationalism. The same nationalism that resulted in many years of anarchy and chaos. The same nationalism that resulted in many (if any at all) not voicing their concerns on Siad Barre's actions in the 'other' part of Somalia in the late 80s, as this was seen as being a nationalist. This is misguided nationalism, this is actually a guilty concience on failing Somalia and the Somali ppl. Yes Somlia may become a federal state but this will not be seen as a victory for the nationalist from P/land who failed the country in the first place. Maybe if they were real nationalists and really cared for their ppl (not just those in P-land) theyw ould voiced/spoken out against Siad Barre, but hey life was too good to be un-nationalistic in those days.
  23. Inallilah wa inaillahi Rajiuun, Allah Yarxama MAY ALLAH GRANT HIM THE PEACE OF JANA'AH amin
  24. We've been the guardian of "somaliweyn" for a long time now. Our people are people who are true nationalists and pioneers of how to rule a country. Whilst the North-West opted for "independence" because they were afraid of dealing with other Somalis mainly clan x and y because tradionally it was this two clans who have fought for the leadership of Somalia. There you have right there, P-landers are for those heady days of heading Somalia and everything that came with it, Nationalism only comes 2nd
