  1. ^ Did you just say habibi to rudy (Lord have mercy) I was in London last year, i've seen many Farax's & Xalimo's there. Yet, for some odd reason the drought can be seen miles away equally, wonder why?

  4. The purpose of SOL is to exchange constructive opinions (and at times constructive criticisms), but when a member's sole purpose and only presence is to ridicule the very nomads SOL gives a voice to, then there can be no use extending courtesy to him. His membership of SOL has no material gain (intellectually or socially) but only denigration of the platform's admirable purposes. Well said Chief, i couldn't agree more! Mashallah well done to the yougsters, as well as the teachers that gave them the opportunity to achieve this award.
  5. Do not Marry 7 types of Women: 1. Al-Annaanah: The woman who whines, moans and complains and 'ties a band around her head' all the time (i.e. complains of a headache or some illness but in reality she is not sick, rather she is faking). 2. Al-Mannaanah: The woman who bestows favours, gifts, etc. upon her husband then (at that time or the future) says; "I did such and such for you or on your behalf or because of you. 3. Al-Hannaanah: The women who yearns or craves for her former husband or children of the former husband. 4. Kay'atul-Qafaa: The women who has a brand mark on the nape of her neck (i.e. has a bad reputation or doubts about her). 5. Al-Haddaaqah: The women who cast her eyes at things (i.e. always looking at something to purchase, then desires it and requires her husband to buy it (No Matter What). 6. Al-Barraaqah: The women who spends much of her day enhancing her face and beautifying it to such an extent that it will seem like it was manufactured. 7. Al-Shaddaaqah: The woman who talks excessively..<<== Big turn off  Taken from the Book: 'A Concise Manual of Marriage' by Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen!

  16. Sayid* raggan waxba ha isku daalin, Allah described them in the Qur'an as follows; {Or do you think that most of them hear or understand? They are only like cattle; Nay, they are even farthar astray from the path [i.e. even worse than cattle].} (25:44) I just hope they repent to Allah and Ask him for guidance before a day will come when they wish they were not but a mere dust, as Allah mentioned in the following verse; {That day will be the sure reality: therefore, whosoever will, let him take a (straight) return to his Lord! Surely, we have warrned you of Chastisement near-the day when man will see (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the unbeliever will say, "Woe unto me! Would that I were (mere) dust!" (78:39-40) "Verily, To Allah We Belong, and To Him is Our Return" (2:156) May Allah guide the Non-believers for he can only guide them and may he also keep us 'Muslims' on the straight path, ameen!
  17. I'm not a big fan of the so called self help books (I have always believed they are but rubbish money making schemes) But i would highly recommend anyone to read this book by Shaykh Aaidh ibn Abdullah al'Qarni. Very well written piece, you won't be disapointed! Don't Be Sad by Aaidh ibn Abdullah al-Qarni At a time in which the Muslims are beset with trials from every periphery and within, comes this heartening book rooted in the commandments of Allah (swt), the Sunnah and the excellent guidance and examples of the Muslims that have come before us. Don't Be Sad is an absolute must-read for all people. It is full of practical advice on how to replace sadness with a pragmatic and ultimately satisfying Islamic outlook on life. It exposes to the modern reader how Islam teaches us to deal with the tests and tribulations of this world. So, take heart and hold firmly onto the rope of Allah (swt). Ps. The only way one can get 'the secret' in this life or in the here after is to follow the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the prophet (scw)!
  18. Miss Kuulay Cali Banjar, the feeling is mutual walaal, so let's not get ahead of ourselves aight! Btw, never again roll your eyes on me, woman!

  22. ^ You and c&h need to lower your gaze's more often yaah I feel sorry for the Somali people living there!
  23. ^ You mean 'Gidaarka u sheeg' A bit too exaggerated piece, but interesting nonetheless! Hubsiino ayaa la yidhi, halbaa lagu doorsadaa. Wax aanad hayn, adoo ka hadhaa habboon. Habaar qabe ha noqon, hanfada oo sida haadka lala. Habluhu waa walaalahaa, haweenku sida hooyadaa. Horaadka ku jaqsiisay oo, iyaga hagar lagama galo, kalgacayl hubuq laguma rido, dadka ruuxii kuu hamradana, aasee hagaaga jecel, iyaga waa lagu hirtaa haye baa qalbiga u daawo ah. Vice Versa!
  24. I would like you to try a little experiment. Take few hours, go to your vibrant community(engage them), ask around the females why they wear the burka and come back and report it. The exchange will probably be something along the following lines: Canjeex: Habo, why do you wear the Burka? Female: Maandhow, our "deen dictates it" Canjeex: Explain? Are you saying what I think you are saying? Do you have a verse to back it up"? Female: "No, but thats what our imam told us, its a long tradition, it comes from Saudia Arabia". Canjeex: What does Saudia Arabia have anything to do with the burka, didnt you just say "Islam dictates it"? Same female joined by others: "Waryaa, naga tag, wax yahow canka jeexan, aniga ma iwaaleysid, just know, the arabs told us to do something, we follow it to the T". THE END First of all, as funny as ^^ may sound, i don't think you quite being fair to the sisters. Describing them as a bunch of Hijabi's who cover themselves not knowing why but to imitate others, and that my friend you know very well is not true and can be seen as arrogance on your part! Second of all, and fyi, i don't need to ask eedo Xaawo or Xalimo why they cover themselves for i have a mother, aunts, and sisters. Who all cover themselves, some may cover more then the others. But alas, they do it to please their lord (the Almighty) and they certainly don't need permission from you, gaal qoor gaduudan or anybody else for that matter, fahamtu? Thirdly, i don't know where you live (Afghanistan ) But, i don't know or have seen any women who wears the burka in my community! Lastly, and with all due respect eedo, bacaad cidlaad qaniinsantahay concerning this issue ee let it go
