  1. Maybe when they first left waqooyi but I know this much by the time, they reached the South, it was largerly Ds. They reinforced troops in the Caymiska and massacred people at warshada baastada.

To me, the latter is more heinous, as happened in Mogadishu The retreating army was entirely Ds and they included dhafoor qiiq. The system broke down by 1990. But about Barre regime, everbody dutifully served it until their clan became a target.
  3. The retreating forces did do serious damage, robbed, raped and killed everything and everyone their way. In turn, fugees paid the price and Osman Caato paid reer Hiiraan in kind.
  4. Let everbody write their own history:-)
  5. Gheelle...Our houses have not been looted thanks to people we knew from the family's days in Beledweyne. As for living in Xamar again, in all honesty, I rather go where I feel safe. I have seen what Somalis are capable in person.
  6. Siyaad Barre is always convienant scapegoat.

  8. ^You know Rahima, I was reminded of something you were saying about Hargeysa and how foreign it feels now for other Somalis. I am beginning to think that applies to everywhere and everyone. Maybe it's not such bad idea to break down into pits. It's certainly better than being at the each other's throats. The concept of Somali nationhood is memory now and will likely remain so.
  9. The Federal Government has no real power hence can't impose its will on anyone including the Jubba project. With that mind, I doubt this is a move to counter Xamar. It's IGAD project.
  10. metta.....Everybody is protecting their interest even it comes at the expense of national cohesion.
  11. Daqane..how many houses have you or family looted and/or how many people have you killed? N did you go back to loot more?
  12. There needs to be devolution of power in one form or another.

  14. Underdog..Yes, but we have now hills of snow with ice at the bottom. I guess it could be worse.
  15. Ngonge...You mean 'daddy' wasn't memorable enough. I saw it on the weekend, it was aight.
  16. Xamar ignoring periphery has consequence too. N you are putting too much stock on foriegners.
  17. Oba....I highly doubt 60,000 were killed in Beled Weyne, maybe if you add the later atrocities committed by Cusman Caato against reer Hiiraan.
  18. lol, he dodged the bullet dheh Many in my neighborhood weren't so lucky, I am surprised we made it out.
  19. Coofle. Judging from your words, it's fair to say your mind is made up, the only advice I could render at this juncture, don't go into it with any assumptions be negative or positive. It's general rule I employ but I imagine it applies to marriage as well. My divorced buddy gave me this advice, 'a happy wife is happy home'. but to me, happiness is subjective thing.
