    Hi people!

Damn, Lefty I don't know but some how everytime I come across Ur posts u sound peed off at something! life is too short.. bro/ sis Suleekha Sweety do wat you feel is right for you. I think and can be wrong that your not exactly sure about what kind of a relationship you want. If u really like the brotha give him a chance u nevah now..... I think it is adorable that he wants to introduce you to his mother..... not many guys would do that and I doubt that you'll meet many that will. Hope that helps and not confuses a bit more! P.s Imaturity is not number dependent, i know 30 year olds that act siller then my baby brother (no exaageration) and most 20 years olds are pretty cool these days! Best of Luck sis and welcome to the nomad family! salaamz
  2. Wooooooooooooow, What is this that I see, the anti- London fan club? I beg my decent Londoners: Barwaaqo, Wild Cat, Shaqsi, Mujaahid, Mataan, Muna to elighten these folks about our beautiful little city! And that is exactly what it is, thats why ya'll come back year after year after year.. so boo hoo! Just ask MMA how many times a year he visits London Athena, U have an invitation from me, but only if u change ur tone sistah Soul lady, never go on holiday to somalis and expect it to be worth while. I am a londoner and I act like a tourist, so thats the best way to make the most of it!
  3. Banadir won? thats a first Ladies, in the future check out my bros from the UK... they so fine
  4.   I have to see to say to be honest ... so none of you ugly mugz are sexy!
  5. I am gonna sound really bad... but sometimes I wish my mates told me to take my scarf off. we'd be getting ready for riwayad and I'll be like on or off? with my masar. They either totaly blank or tell me naa waad waalatey ........... and non of them wear the scarf let alone the hijab! Even my guy friends act all protective. in fact writing this, I am starting to think that no one has faith in me ... but I guess I am blessed. (hoping anyway) Coming back to the topic, walaalo do whatever your comfortable with and don't let others dictate your ways to you. If you ain't doing it for your Creator then don't do it for others. I totaly agree with you though.
  6. Okay so is dating is bad, if the people involved established the 'No Zina' rule? Somali used to date, court shukaami, sheekee , whatever since the dayz of our awoowos. I don't really think it's a big deal if ya keep it clean Jamaal 11 style.... no coffee Mujaahid, when the guy takes her home ... he takes a hike , untill next time I mean how else is me gonna find that brother that my Hooyo prays for everytime I bug her (24/7)
  7. Kaluun Hot or Cold (take it however U like it )
  8. lol @ Dr Romantic , still haven't given up I see  ~Yawn~
  9. I actually like Imans attitude about Somalis, though her book was a little to x-rated for my liking. ( I am keeping it hidden in my bottem drawer, to protect my poor mother from a heart attack, should she come across it) Anyways, I got weris's book the other day and although I haven't finished reading it ... it got me thinking about what could possibly make someone hate themselves so much .... And you know what... I don't really blame her for her attitude, we have different societies within Somalia and lets face being a reer baadiye who found riches in America, one cannot be mad with the sister for acting the way she does. Most of us are city kids and had it good. She lived geeljire life hardcore before discovering the glitters of the west (having it better then most of us city kids). Lets face it , wey ilbaxdey and good for her too. My I can't imagine myself being too enthusiatic about life in the baadiye in comparison to city life anywhere inthe world! If truth be told, women in those sides don't have it good... I don't take her comments about somalis to heart at all, it is apparent to all that she ain't the average Somali gal she tries to be. Which brings me back to Iman, she was an educated, regular modern day Somaaliyad and thats why she has all those positives to say about our culture.... she wasn't a geeljirad, her dady didn't give her camels, she didn't had to herd, she didn't have to live with harshness the baadiye offered women .. what could she complain about? I am not defending those that try to kill our reputation and I think someone should give that Weris gal a good slap in the face ...but there is no point in being mad. Damn, I can go on sometimes ... excuse me!
  10. Salaams my dears, I agree with Jamaal in this one. Education is a means of gainning recogniotion for ones knowledge in a certain field, in the common view that is. Education basically is learning. Whereas knwledge is knowing, we may know things inately, we maybe educated in something but not entirely comprehend it.. hence know it! I find it quite disturbing at the level of stature we give to educated folk, whilst undrminning the knowledge of those who may not be educated be very knoledgable. I know poeple who have Masters, degrees but who are also a little on the dim side when it comes to issues out of their specialised filds. Anyow, in Somaali Education = waxbarasho Knowlege = Aqoon I suppose that just about sums it up. I am in no way trying to undermine the importance of education here ..........
  11. I've never had niether : I'll go MUUFO (since I know the muufo macaan song off by heart) Girls: Stilletoes or Sneakers (trainers?) Boys n Girls: Beauty or Brains
  12. The story wasn't yours, why didn't you say? it kinda changes things. Wildcat, I see what you mean. I got hand it to him though, he is very cunning indeed. Made everyone else look like deranged folk... say mortals are getting a little off-key these days ma istidhi? Taqwa, Okay, sorry You have actually stoped being funny. I don't know why you'd come in here just to state the obvious. Again, I am sorry, for acknowledging your nick, I won't bother you again. You have a nice day
  13. Hold your horses MR  I am sure the brother, Mataan is very capable of defending himself, but I'll have you know that he ain't half as light headed as you! When someone doesn't appreaciate your story it doesn't necessarily give you the licence to insult people. Doesn't the fact that almost everyone on this page show somewhat annoyance at your story tell you something is definately wrong with it. Walaalo, I suggest that you handle it like a man, reread and edit instead of throwing cheap shots and anyone who dares to give an opinion. I am in way interested in exchanging insults or whatever with ya ... so safe yourself the hassel. This is simply sisterly advice. Have a fine day
  14. I have a confession, in all my years in London I have never been to Southhall. God I feel like I am missing out on something. Phew, with that out of the way. I just wanted to suggest stand up comedy to her wildness walaahi you cracked me up, damn it girl, this is the best start to my long boring day. The story wasn't exactly amazing neither does it upset me, but I would love to see more positivce material. In fact, I think for a work by his arrogance, it's pretty good. This ain't intended as an insult, so calm yoor neerfas! Taqwa, Your such an opportunitist walaahi. It's all good though even you made me laugh with role playing on this occasion.
  15. I am sooooo happy that those Barzilian Cuties have won..... I hope Ya'll will give them the credit they deserve now Hashi nice watching out mate
  16. I am coming too! I would love to have a girly chat with you Lula, exchange makeup tips, rate the Nomads (u know what I mean) lol and then we can test whether falling on them actually works The Party would fun. We can have an open mic, where Jamaal Hibo and all the other poets strut their suff... music by Phasez (spelling). Wildcat would be at the door to keep out all the undesirables Me and Barwaaqo would be eating pizza as we watch Farah and Sopist discuss the structure of society etc..... am out of time ..... to be continued!
  17. Yacqub, Thats Fair enough, I comand you for caring and lets just agree to disgree on the approach thing. Salaaaams
  18. Waaaaa Wareeeeeeey, why are yous lot being so mean to me. Silent guy (nice to see you again) is the only person who linked me with a non-violent man. I suppose I should be thankful to SG.... is it who I think she is? Yacquub: Walaalo how could you? Is that how think of me? The guy is disgusting, muslim or not! I don't like you any more Baydan, I suppose you enjoyed Qawdhan cahsing me arround the forums with is budh. He is one forumer that the frieghtened the little life outa me... lol with my boxing gloves and his budh , we'd end up with bruises 4 the rest of fighting lifes lol. I wonder where qawedhan is anyway? Barwaaqo, a beautiful match walaaaahi, only thing is I am related to the bro so me can't go there! Oh, since you liked my match with ya, do i get a pressy... U can pay for the dress ama wear to your aroos! Shaqsi, Ive got the feeling that you were anticipating a cat fight ..... anyhow now that you got the lady, can get the Richi CD of yours? Ismahaan, Sweetheart, where have you been? I missed your sweet, eye strainning, funny posts walaahi. I hope all is well with ya! Yeah, I do something like Social Work (only more fun). I can't think of suitable match for ya, actually how about Farah, you once said that you wanted a smart man. He is pretty intelligent, or so he says. (kidding love, you are smart in my humble opinion-in case U took offence)... Game over people......your getting way too funny for your own good now
  19. Could happen.... but it must be difficult if don't meet the person. Imagine cahtting to someone for so long then relising that they ain't as cute or as confident as they sound on line. Could happen thou, definately!
  20. Coolguy, Inaabti I hope your doing well First of all, there are no Portugese where I live. Secondly, as I've stated before Brazil has always been a favourite they really put action into the game. But I really loved about EWngland V Brazil game is that it was the English that have introduced the Brazilians to football and Brazil has dominated the game beautifully ever since. If you lived in London you'd understand why I've started this post, you will not believe the hype arround the whole thing walaahi it was hilarious. Senegalis play similare to the Brazilians may be its a black thang, maybe not... but like I said I did hope that made it, unfortunately they didn't so Brazil all the way.... They are the kings of football and everybody knows it! And the France thing, what do exepect from a demoralised team whose main man was injured, poor Ronaldo couldn't stand for more the 5 mins let alone score gaols.... walaahi that was sad, esp as they worke so hard to make it to the finales..... they need to sort out their defens though ..... Big time! Barwaaaaaqo, Sorry sweetness, you know I feel glad the arrogant w**kers lost... I can't stand the way they try to dominate everything. Anyways, hon. I's still loves ya and the Pizaaa...... read my private message.... i got something weird to tell ya!
  21. Brazil Brazil Brazil Brazil and if Korea wins thats the conspiracy of the centuary!
  22. Lakkad sweety.... U've read me all wrong! My point was that our culture determined the respect men give to women... and i've pointed out that treatment Somali men gave to somali womemn back in the days was much better then today..... I didn't disagree with the sister, just feel that there is still room for improvement. In saying so, I am obliged to say that we Somali women have got it good. Alxamdulilaah! My analyses is based on what i see happeniing arround me, unfortunately, there are a lot of Tyrone, bigot etc wannabes... am I wrong? I wasn't talking about the foruming brothers cos ya'll are in a (positive) league of your own. It's all good though No offence intended....
  23. Good ridence ... Alxamdulilaah. I knew I can rely on Admin to get rid of this 'person'. Yacquub, Walaalo, I wasn't questionning your prefrence, even non-muslim men prefer modest women.... my only concern was your rather intimidating approach. Telling sisters to wear hijaab because thats your prefrence is not very motivating. Take it from a girl that was really anti-hijaab, mainly because people methods of preaching. Walaahi, I admire you brotehrs for caring .. but the approach! Ali Somali, He is a case of someone who stoped worshiping Allah and started to worship his creator. Somaliland is a muslim country, hence the shahaada in the flag but we can't pretend that we have some undesirables in our society. Allah will deal with such people in his just way .. may Allah keep us on the truth..
  24. Lulla , thats very refreshing sis. Perhabs, with attitudes like that Somalis will get rid of those silly gender wars we seem to have adopted from the unmentionables. Anyways, in somali culture the women are the backbone to the social structure. if it wasn't for our strong talented ayeeyos our awoows would have ben subjected to a life of misery. Somali men relise that so they respect, seriously we have a unique culture that rescpects women. In saying that junior nomads wey kibreen and I am sad to say that the guys of today don't deserve the worthiness of our awoowos - Ragna waa Ragii hore horaa loo yidhi I don't mean to burst your bubbles boys, but ya'll would have to work alot harder before I do a Salaatul-Shukr on your behalf I'de suggest getting some life lessons from your Awoowos and if you don't have one adopt one!
  25. People X.Playa is a gaal by admition, I don't think we should be to horrofied with his view about our Islam. Just clarifying that! In saying that, I think he did make some good points, i agree with what his says on the style of hijaab it doesn't have to look like that of the arabs, we have our own traditional clothing as long as they conform to the islamic rules of hijaab, it fine. Also, certain styles of hijaab, i.e the Cabaayah and Niqaab worn is Saudi Arabia and the khaliij states are more cultural then Islamic. one aloso notices that its the Saudi sheikhs that emphasise the iportance of niqaab, in fact they make it compulsory. Xplaya also made an interesting point that some men use Hijaab to oppress women, we know that this happens in nations like Saudi arabia (quite disgusting if U asked me). Anyways, similarely, the brother came in here dictating to sisters to wear hijaab cos he prefers hijaabi women. Doesn't that contrdict the whole notion of hijaab. To the pro-hijaab brothers, If only you've used a different approach. I think ya'll should leave this with the sisters! Ilhaam, Petit, Rahiima where U at? To the anti-hijaab sisters, Allah has ordered us to wear hijaab and we should honour him by obeying his comands. i don't agree with the brothers tacky excuse but that doesn't change the fact that wearing hijaab is an obligatory act of worship. Allah ordered muslim women to cover their bodies so that they are recognised and respected. i don't know about yous but I would much rather be respected and treated as a muslim women who has more to offer the world then good looks.... the hijaab allows you to do that. I've recently started wearing my head scarf (proberly) and walaahi you can never imagine the amount of respsect you get, people actually want hear what you gota say. Anyways, its upto you wether you wear it or not.... but, if you do I would advice you to do it for the right reasons (not the stupid ones used by the brothers) and to read up on it! Hijaab is more of an attitude then a dress code... I know alot of non-hijaabi sisters who respect themselves and some hijaabis who don't even comprehend the concept. I don't see the point in covering up if you don't have the attitude! Hope that makes sense. Salaaaaaams
