  1. Look at me being simplistic! This is what I want...need... 1. 2. Beach House in Dubai. Warm. Reclusive enough yet close to civilization. Muslim country. 3. I deserve it because I'm a good person deep deep deep deep down inside. Also, because I'm spoiled and would be miserable anywhere else. 4. I will negotiate SOL peace from my serene terrace overloking the ocean.
  2. I'm questioning if at all, marriage should be an option with the potential pool out there..
  3. ^ Other questions burn in my head. Is Kashafa really 16yrs old? Does he write with such bravado to mask his youthful voice that’s yet to break? I don’t know if I want to speak to people who think ma voice is fitna. Shidh. There I go again, being negative!
  4. I thought we outgrew the era of following the sheep over the cliff? Thats a huge generalization its almost like saying if a father is a wife beater then the son will be a wife beater. My point wasn’t about following the sheep. More like a realization you single handedly cant go against the grain. Little Waterfall with her 'modern' views and humane ways cannot simply change anything where Somalia is concerned. Some people hold their destiny in their hands and might fulfill those dreams. Individual dreams. Yes. Dreams of helping Somalia. Probably not. But then, I’m a chronic pessimist when it comes to Somalia and Somalis.
  5. What is required in these circumstances is also action.
  6. Growing up sucks! ‘Reality check’ pretty much sums up what happens to us as we grow up. From being youthful, energetic and theoretically able to conquer the world, we enter the real practical scene, only to realize that we are at the bottom… and if all the people over us cant change much… its highly unlikely we will.
  7. 1. 2. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30K 8 Megapixel Digital Camera. Its simply the most magnificent camera to capture all those cant miss moments. Powerful. Stable. Accurate. Professional. Beautiful. 3. I had a crappy old one and it broke three months ago. I miss taking pictures of myself, my friends, events and for my blog. 4. I'll publish the most amazing ones online for you all to enjoy.
  8. Hello North, how are you? Good I hope. I’ve actually been wondering what happened to you and why you left us without any updates for a while. Its always good to read your annotations and adventures in the place I called home for yrs. Now, on your observation… I’m inclined to disagree with you a little. . I find people in Muslim countries to be chilled and at ease with religion. It’s a way of life after all, not a set of rituals to be performed with utmost perfection and precision. Everyone is a Muslim and although people have evidently different levels of iimaan, they treat each other with a lot of respect and brotherly love. In contrast, I find Muslims in the west to be too concerned with their outward appearances and reputation (something they have to work on all the time) and less with their inner Islam. They just don’t seem at ease with who they are as Muslims and are judgmental about the ‘Islam’ of others – something that constantly shocks me. p.s. The Muslimnimo is KSA will have u running back to London in a heartbeat. LoL. Dont try it.
  9. Hey Juma, You've made as many contributions to the jokes section in the last two days than u did in the last couple of years. Is this gonna be your new hide-out? What do u reckon will happen to the politics sections now (with the departure of u know who(s?))? Do u think it will turn into a puntland state?
  10. ^^ LOL. Our own Somali version of Jekyll and Hyde haye (cept its Wind and Horn eh?). ROTFLMAO. This section is amazing! Its riddled with conspiracy, alliances, suspicion and even espionage! Oh..All this in cyber space!
  11. Oh Sky, stop being so mean…its not nice. Anyways, where is this thing going? What is the verdict? Where are Horn and Wind? I noticed Wind was fighting a battle at every front (heck, he even attacked the white guy) and was a stand-alone-warrior but that’s hardly a reason to hate the dude. Besides, this is a Somali political section, the only way you can maintain your sanity is by being a headcase or ignoraing all headcases.
  12. Yoonis I’d think you’d be sad to loose your muran-buddies. What else is there to do here? I’m sure the Admin has good reasons for doing whatever he is doing. However, these cheap jibes at Wind and Horn when they are not posting… that’s just shameful! I’ve known Horn Afrique to be one of the politest and most prolific writers on SOL. He is civil even in the most acrimonious debates. It would be a great loss to have him gone. And really, who doesn’t snigger at Wind Talker’s ‘exchanges’ with Tolstoy? These two nicks certainly appeared to have been two separate individuals from where I am sitting and reading. We should give the admin the benefit of doubt and have him look into the issue if there is cause for suspicion (although a little more discretion would have gone a long way). But like some1 said, same IP addresses don’t always mean the same person. The admin would need to have consistently matching IP addresses over a period of time (not just today) to give even a small value to the claim.
  13. LOL@Naaso Caanood. I'm sorry, but ma laascaanooda lagu faano maalin iyo habeen baa saas u eeg? Goodness. And here I thought, there were decent bulos, some green and a couple of healthy cows at least. Q, nice pics. You've an eye for photography.
  14. Interesting takes. Of course I took it as nothing more than NG poking fun at women. Nora is young and carefree. She can and is dismissive about the attention of young men. Lubna too was carefree and young at some point. Now she is older, she doesn’t get showered with all the ‘attention’ she used to. The part she is reminiscing shows that she now longs for that attention at twenty-eight and possibly wishes she hadn’t been so unconcerned and grabbed the opportunities. NG now leaves us with a question… should she spill the beans and tell her mother? And risk having her sister be single at twenty eight? Or let the young love take its course? NG, might the words ur looking for be 'qol ku raag'?
  15. Legend, I'm so sorry to hear this. May Allah swt shower his mercy on your father. Samir iyo iman, adiga iyo familiga'ba. Nomads: One of the greatest things, which one may offer to the dead, is to recite Quran and send on the reward for it.
  16. I forgot to address the party~ Thank you all for showing up. I was afraid our paper boy Caano wouldn’t deliver the mail on time. Good to see the post has even reached the North Pole *Waves at Castro and Stoic*. Looks like I’m not the only one who has met a great bunch of people on SOL and made some lifelong friends. Aeron, you’re gorgeous and frighteningly clever.. sometimes . Enjoy. Hope you all have a great Ramadan, Eid, etc. I’ve deadlines to meet and buses to catch. Adios.

Did I hijack the topic? Alle-ubaahne, Again, I find your attacks very inappropriate. Things are really taking a turn for the worse around here.
  18. Is the party getting out of hand?
  19. Aeron, Old? You? Naah! This is just a small gethering to have you moved from that shelf to SOL's ancient monument's shelf. Alle-ubaahne, gate-crashing my party miya? Do you work for the secret police?
