  1. Brother Alle Ubaahne, dancing is good for serious folk like yourself. Why don’t you get into the grove and let me show you some moves? If you still aint feelin it, I’ll consider taking your advice and sitting down. P.s. You can tell the silhouette is not wearing her hijab haye? Can you see her star-spangled mini-skirt too?
  2. Tuujiye, Since you said you ‘missed me’, I’ve been nice and acknowledge you… but you stepped out of the borders of good humoured fun. Kindly leave me alone, I don’t need to insulted by you. Just how utterly incompetent are the new mods? The ‘offending words’ are supposed to be edited, yet its there in Naku’s post. You either delete it all or don’t bother!
  3. Nice one Sheh. I went to India in '97.. Bombay (We stayed near the Taj Hotel and went on a boat ride to the Elephanta caves) to Bangalore (visited a few schools there as my parents were contemplating sending me to a boarding school ) to parts of Utter Pradesh. Loved the 'unity in diversity'. When did you go there? p.s. I dont feel the romance. Infact, I'm slighty worried about it.

Maxaa ku keeney the women's section ayaad is leedahay miya? I await your input.
  5. Ducaqabe, I’m not judging you. But you must admit, your ‘contribution’ at that precise time does not come across as motiveless considering the topic isn’t about quoting hadeeth or Quranic verses where they fit (I’ve done it too… and you’d be hard pressed to find some1 who doesn’t understand my point..unless they were being obtuse). Anyway, its best we don’t get hasty in responses. Roob, No, I don’t. However, I’m not impressed with ur trailing of certain members and trying to character assassinate them in heated debates. People like you take the discussion to the rotten end. p.s. My contribution is telling you off… isn’t it clear? Kheyr, -Ayats of Quran was posted with no particular reference to ANY ONE NOMAD . So why do you and Ngonge have an issue with it??? So what was the point of posting those particular verses in this particular thread Kheyr? Please dont insult our intelligence any further.
  6. Stoic, he is right. That dig was uncalled for against our faithful family. How dare you associate my good name with beer (even figuratively)? Xaalka waan kaa sugayna. Alle-Ubaahne, merci beaucoup for catching him on that. You’ve redeemed urself in my books..

Will you be his advocate? [25:44] Do you think that most of them hear, or understand? They are just like animals; no, they are far worse. So you think the verse suits the topic well? How so? Perhaps you can point the finger at the 'ego worshippers' who are worse than animals on this thread and let me know how you’ve arrived at that conclusion. While I understand where your disagreement with some of the participants on this thread comes from, its reprehensible to praise Kheyr and agree with him just to spite them. How dare he use God’s words to dismiss and insult others? Its hypocritical to let your own egos stand in the way of advising Kheyr to stop abusing the Quranic Texts. Since when is it acceptable to refer to other posters on this site like that? Infact, isn’t one of the fastest ways to leave Islam to proclaim that another muslim is ‘evil’ or ‘manifestation of Satan’? Here is a hadeeth to support this (and it 'fits my argument’ well) It is reported on the authority of Ibn `Umar that the Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) said: Any person who calls his brother: O Unbeliever! (then the truth of this label) would return to one of them. If it is true, (then it is) as he asserted, (but if it is not true), then it returns to him (and thus the person who made the accusation is an Unbeliever). [Muslim] I would also like to tell you that nabigu scw never called any1 a kafir even on the grounds of not believing in his claims. Two wrongs don’t make a right, and I for one despise the one using my religion to give his claims a glow of authenticity by dipping into the holy texts that I hold in highest regard.

Now go away before I unleash my sarcasm-of-mass-humiliation on you, with no albatross around my neck (read: mod-status) to stop me. You've been forewarned.

  13. Roob, you simply spend far too much time speculating about the motives of those who post instead of putting forth your reasons for disagreeing with them, ma istidhi? Believe me, this discussion would get far if you didn’t have the ‘bad habit’ of seeing a conspiracy or an ulterior motive with posts. Indulge and participate in topics one at a time…sticking to the points being discussed. Its not that hard if you have anything meaningful to say. Mr.Kheyr is well known 4 his ‘bad habit’ of showing up every now and then and sprinkling us with random hadeeth or verses from the Quran, insinuating that the nomads who he disagrees with are the devils incarnate or infidels. He really doesn’t add much to any discussion in terms of content or even explain what he means (he counts on people not arguing over the divine texts) and worst of all, he doesn’t see how his implications are contrary to Islamic etiquette. Please don’t turn into another Kheyr… the board cannot take it. [Edit] NG, you beat me to it.
  14. I cant say that I’m too happy with how the caaqilayaal of SOL are constantly at each other’s throats maalmahan. Its like a small-time warzone in here. The current environment around these forums is not conducive to good Islamic discussions. To be honest, you’re all too busy trying to undermine one another and question one another’s intention that you loose focus of the topic and end up confusing the readers (moi) and eventually agreeing to disagree. There is absolutely nothing to gain from a topic that reads like this (so far). And if one gains nothing from reading 3 pages of what is supposed to be an Islamic discussion, one is left disappointed.
  15. I must say, my astonishment at the new mod list is bordering alarm. How is it fitting to replace me with two crocodile wrestlers Admin? An Australian is someone who reads comic books without moving his lips. Congrats LOZ,MMA, Sheh, Femme, Rudy and Salaxudin. Although the appointment of LOZ as mod is nothing but a perfect stab in the back for moi, considering I’ve complained about his harassment of my person countless times.
  16. Johnny!!!! I voted for you...and I did it long time ago. Need I give reason? You're the-kahuna. I also voted for the following people..dont know why or when.. 5 Stars WILDCAT, Legend of Zu, Conspiracy., Gediid, m u h a m m a d, Johhny B, 2 Stars Taqwa. It was a long ago and ...! 18. Castro, Here is what I could find in terms of context: Feel free to correct it if you see any mistakes/inconsistencies. According to Al-Bukhari (SAHIH AL-BUKHARI Vol. I, which is considered by Muslim scholars to be the undisputed compilation of the prophet,s tradition and the most authentic book after the Book of Allah), after the Prophet learned that the Persians had named a woman to rule over their country after the death of Kisra, Abu Bakra heard the Prophet ask: "Who has replaced Kisra? The answer was: "They have entrusted power to his daughter. Here the Prophet said the Hadith: "Those who entrust their affairs to a woman will never know prosperity. This probably refers to 628 AD at the time of the wars between the Persians and the Romans. After Heraclius invaded Ctesiphon and the Persian King Khusro Parviz was assasinated there was a period of instability between 629 AD and 632 during which two women were among the various claimants to the Sassanid throne. Xiin, If it is, let’s explore what are the justifications from the divine texts. And let us do it together. That would be most productive of discussions. And I only pick on you because I like how you debate. Sheh, did I hijack your topic? Was this the direction you intended for it?
  19. Waxkasta waanu arki. Xadaa hawadii baa la iibineya. Next we will have to pay for living. 7, you have 7 days left on your credit. Please top up.
  20. I was reading that nicely..nodding my head for good measure…thinking how good and well articulated Xiin always is… Then bump! Crash! Boom! If you mean politics, though that may not be the ideal function for a God fearing Halimo There Sheh. Even good Xiin wants to keep us from political participation. Because I’m clever and know where this is heading, can I just ask Xiin to explain (and help me enterpret) this hadeeth(often repeated) that forms the crux of ‘muslim scholars’ argument against “the admissibility for woman to hold high decision making position†and give me any other reasons as to why he thinks women dont make ideal leaders? Reported by Abu Bakra and found in Sahih Bukhari – ‘Those who entrust their affairs to a woman will never know prosperity’ Thanks.
  21. Ah..the troll corner... I almost forgot about it. Howdy Foxy? Howz work coming along? I've gone back to the indolent lifestyle that is expected of a student. Oh how I love freshers and freshmen week. Nothing does wonders for the social spirit than a bit of 'Freshmen gazing'. I sat 3hrs in the centre of my university today and just watched the shy-n-lonesome new comers interact. ah! Bless! Those were the days. You'll all have to excuse me if I'm not trolling anymore... I'm out of the stuck-n-stagnant work schedule.
  22. Hello Sheh,, I’ve been echoing your sentiments for years. I hear about how Islam granted women this and that, but I don’t see it. It’s a wonder how ‘this’ Islam that is supposed to promote dignity and human rights is seen today in the eyes of every other religion to be repressive. Islam is not more repressive than Christianity or Judaism and yet Muslim women today enjoy less freedom and fewer rights than women in those religions. This begs the question - WHY? The answer is simple - there are those who have a vested interest in blocking women’s rights in Muslim societies. HOW do they do this? - by citing examples and sources from the past and betting on our ignorance. p.s. This is an interesting subject and I'A, everyday, I will try and add a new dimension to why this dilemma exists. Hope you will keep up Sheh.
  23. ^ The answer is an univocal 'YES'.
