But, we should be saying Alxamdulillah because Allah chose Islam for us. I should finish reading the articles first before commenting...but I just had to say that. I shall finish it..

    WHY??

walaahi hadii martid socodka aa kaa dhumaayo STHLM_Lady, phew! It's good to hear that...I thought I was the only one ya know LadyHova: We don't have it as bad as reer Mpls. Here, they mostly gather around the restaurants, especially those that don't have a women's section. & If you must go to these restaurants, you can always send in your lil bro I'm glad they didn't take over the little suuq, or I'd have quit going there too. St.Paul, salaanta ka qaad ado fiirinin meel aay ka imaatay (no eye contact)...then horay u sii carar! And that's only if it's proper salaan...preferably "Asalaama caleeykum"...hadii kale is dhagooleey. Hopefully, they'll get the hint!

    Diraac

Nefertiti...wow..what a picture!..well I sure do like the macawiis now if I didn't before. The dirac is great, but I'd never wear it to anywhere else other than weddings. I wouldn't feel comfortable. How the fact that it is Long and its such a drag, and it chokes you whenever you sit down or something. Lol! I used to feel this way too...but I got the hang of it now. Just make sure the dirac isn't too big for you (esp around the neckline and the arms)...or you'd miss all the fun because you're struggling with your dirac all night. ..oh yeah, & make sure it isnt too long either
  9. ^^ I dont like that evil laugh Runaway..it's a bit unnerving.lol Flying...we'll just see, wont we? Soon the brother won't be able to contain himself...and he'll just have to share his happiness with us nomads

    Hijaabed Hair

Thanks a bunch sisters! Putting the hair in a ponytail then plaiting it seems like an easy do, and I'm sure it wont show thru the hijaab. Ima try that. Why not...?

Nafisa...I wish I was there too. Have fun for the both of us Flying: Yesterday there was this brother from the MSSU here and gave us a brief info about this upcoming conference in Minnesota. He said they'd even provide accommodations for us if we had no relatives there... (sisters would be taken in by a sister and brothers by a brother)...very nice. Are you by any chance one of the kind people who volunteered help out? I can't say the thought to come knocking at your door never crossed my mind
  21. A belief : 1. That Allah provides Rizq ( sustenance) Could influence your actions when you are seeking to make a living, How would that influence? Well, I would think this belief will allow you to put complete trust in allah, & believe that he has power over everything we do. But at the same time, we should know that seeking a means of living on our own, instead of waiting for things to come to us doesn't take away our trust in Allah. 2. A belief that Allah is observing you ( Baseer) This would influence your actions, because we'd enjoin in good and forbid the bad, since we are aware that Allah hears and sees all that we do. Am I going the right way with this?
  22. Asalaama Alaikum, Nur jazakallahu-khairan walaal. I must admit, I only opened this thread last night when I saw it in the active topics. I've neglected this side of the forum lately Anyways, I'll do my best to follow along..and participate insha allah. Belief in: 1) allah 2) his angels 3) his books 4) his messengers 5)qadar--kheyr wa shar 6) can't remember Sis you forgot belief in Judgement day (#5)...Qadar is the last (#6). I believe they go in that order.
