The HAG are putting the last nail on the coffin of what was left of Somali unity, nationhood, and identity. What they are doing to the D!r clan in Shabeelaha hoose will come back to bite them in the @ss like a bad karma.

@galbeedi said: Last week it was Hawdian insulting and Jumping up for from a small cartoon by Amin Amir, now itis Alpha insulting a whole tribe to retaliate for small matter. , go to Hiiraan and most of the insults are coming from Somalilanders. Is this insecurity or just bad behavior. I thought after these many years Landers were self confident who can take a heat. It is strange, those who are loudest among Somalis in terms of debate and discussion , are also the first to agitate in any infraction. What you said is completely untrue and is probably wilful dishonesty on your part. Go to any Somali website and the first people to throw all sorts of meaningless insults are the non Duriyad. What you see from the Duriyad ciyaalsuuq is just a reaction to the torrent of abuse we get all the time from all corners.

@Nin-Yaaban said: Couple of yrs ago, i was at this shopping mall in Minnesota looking for a parking spot, when this Camry almost side swipes me and parks at the Handicapped spot. And guess who the occupants of the car were....Yep, Somalis. But here is where it gets funny. Since it was some kinda holiday, and parking was kinda hard to get, this Cadaan lady walks up to them and tells 'em to move their car. They had no placards, or plates that had that lil blue wheel chair thingy on it that says u are disabled. The fuckkers get out of the car (3 males and 1 female, all Somalis) and started arguing with the lady about why it was none of her business where they parked. This shitt goes on for almost 10 minutes and i am just sitting there shaking my head walahi. I felt like stepping out and telling 'em to park somewhere.....Waxaan rabay in aan iraahdo, Hooyadiin wase, sida wax loo akhriyo mataqaniin miyaa? Meeshaan waxaa loogu talagalay baabuurta curyaamiinta. Laakinse waxaan ka baqay in eey ugu boodan, oo eey rif rifaan. They looked kinda weird too, probaby high off khat or some other drugs. So i just left. You should have intervened and told them to get the f*ck off.

Recently I had a chat with a very respectable guy from Baraawe who told me with a heavy heart that habar gangster guys occupied his properties in Baraawe and completely ruined them even using the wood in the windows and doors as firewood. This sort of behaviour is so un-Islamic and alien to the Somali culture and traditions.

@Apophis said: None of your quotes provide an iota of support to your first paragraph. But then again you are someone who thinks your lifestyle is in line with Muslim theology (as evidenced by your posts on homosexuality), so you'll understand if I reject your views/ quotes on Islamic teachings on anything. I do not expect an avowed atheist to agree with me on anything Islamic but my comment is there to prove that what you consider "white middle class values" have always been fundamental Islamic etiquettes.

It has always been the US policy to contain the conflict in Somalia to minimise its consequences for the wider world. As the ambassador said, the US will do its best to help the Somalis but it is ultimately the Somalis themselves to decide their political destiny.

@Dr_Osman said: Muse Bixi is unstoppable, it's his clan's turn to run somaliland. They already had a clan meeting a few months ago and this was all sorted out, so siilanyo won't stand a chance to put any wedges between them like samaale jambal. The fact of the matter is it is Muse Bixi turn to run Somaliland and I doubt the hargeisa folks are going to sit back and watch their 'time' be rejected, it is stupid to think that will happen. Besides, I am not sure why u guys divide hargeisa up into south and north as if it's heavily shared city, that is far from the truth. Everyone knows who owns that city and it is muse bixi folks, if you dont believe that then go see how siilanyo was shaking and speaking really fast as it the whole city was at his door-step when he was addressing the TV regarding running for candidacy again. That should tell you enough thats muse bixi town and everyone else there tag alongs. Ditoore, to start with, Hargeisa is not divided just into North and South, but it is divided into North, South, Southwest, Naasa Hablood, Alpha Blondy's estate, Daami, East, Xero Dhiig, Stadium, the refugee resettlement area, and few other ghettoes who all hate on each other. Secondly, if Muuse Biixi is nominated by Kulmiye he is not granted the presidency and has as much chance of leading Somaliland as the other two candidates. It is the voters who decide and not Kulmiye party officials.

@Tillamook said: It will be in the interest for all of Somalia that a free and fair election takes place in Somaliland. I hope the elders and the general populace insist on having a free and fair election, and should not fall victim to the politicians who might want to divide them along tribal lines. Should Silanyo, Bixi or anyone else should win fair and square, then all Somalis should support him. All this talk about fighting Bixi if he DOES win is nonsense. If a fair election takes place and either Silanyo or Bixi wins, then we should support him! That is a good advice although I can't bring myself to support an unrepentant warlord like Muuse Biixi.

@Apophis said: It appears that the thread starter is suffering from what befalls many immigrants in white peoples' country; inferiority complex. People suffering from this mental illness try their best to emulate white middle class norms and values and cringe when they see others like them ( in looks) failing to adhere to the perceived cultural good of the said middle class. Be a coconut if you want but blame not others who refuse to sell out like you have done, Mr Galbedi. The manners of talking to each other in a low voice in a public place, being respectful to other people in your environment, coming on time to a pre-arranged gathering while not disturbing the other attendees, etc. are not just white middle class values but are also fundamental Islamic etiquettes. Some examples of these are in the following hadiths: 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'as (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Four are the qualities which, when found in a person, make him a sheer hypocrite, and one who possesses one of them, possesses one characteristic of hypocrisy until he abandons it. These are: When he is entrusted with something, he betrays trust; when he speaks, he lies; when he promises, he acts treacherously; and when he argues, he behaves in a very imprudent, insulting manner." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him show hospitality to his guest; and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him maintain good relation with kins; and he who believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. Hadith - Bukhari's Book of Manners #271, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ahmad, and Ibn Hibban. ...Abu Darda' reported that the Prophet of Allah, upon him be peace, said, "Nothing is weightier on the Scale of Deeds than one's good manners."

@Saalax said: Ethiopian airlines is pretty cheap. From UK to Addis Abababa is around £300. However I am not sure if I am ready for the smell of Addis Ababa again, haven't been there since 2001. 2001 is a long time ago given pace of the economic growth in Ethiopia. Addis Ababa is completely transformed and unrecognisable now.

The Ethiopian government is so confident that whatever they do to the Somalis will bear no consequences for them.
