I read this at the start of the Article I can ignore, though grudgingly, when such clerics impose dress codes and other punctilious rituals on Somali men and women in the West because these are in the free world where they can express their opinion and seek legal protection against such abuse then i didnt bother going any further

no elections in SOOL, SANAAG, CAYN.. British Somaliland ???
N.O.R.F replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Lander wlc back mate Raqid: The amount of anti-Somaliland feeling is astonishing at times. Even with this week's elections we still have those who are punching the screen when a bit good news emerges. Yes many have expressed happiness at what Somaliland is doing and for those who wish to unite Somalia, this is actually a learning process. Somalia will not come together at a flick of a switch, this example Somaliland is setting should be followed. Peace, stability, self governance etc etc then there maybe the opportunity to re-unite if Somaliland hasnt become recognised by then Thats all i'm saying,,,,, -
Kulmiye for a slight majority i predict.

Why is it when something positive is happening in Somaliland all those against it bring out some negative articles? Somalilanders dont do the same with the soap opera that is going on in Jowhar and the rest of Somalia. The articles are irrelevant and designed to spin/appease its readers who are looking for some sort of guidance in favour of their way of thinking. The elections in Somaliland should be taken as a lesson to all that this is the future. Free and fair elections in whatever form and for whatever reason. The issue of independence and recognition may be furthered in favour of Somaliland who have again demonstrated that elections can take place 'peacefully'. But this is not the main focus here, we should be commending Somaliland for doing/progressing when all around her is stuck. Try to embrace the same formula across other parts and then there maybe a time to talk. But right now (as someone previously mentioned) Somaliland is way ahead of Somalia in terms of a political and stable society. So please, embrace, come on you can say it, EMBRACE! -
Somaliland in first vote for MPs The government fears al-Qaeda attacks during the election Voters in Somaliland are choosing MPs for the first time since the territory declared independence from Somalia 14 years ago. All three parties competing put the quest for international recognition at the top of the agenda. Somaliland broke away from the rest of Somalia in 1991 when President Mohammed Siad Barre was ousted. Since then, it has established a reputation for peace and stability - in contrast to the rest of Somalia. But last week, seven people were arrested in Somaliland, accused of being al-Qaeda members intending to destabilise the election. As polling stations opened, queues formed in the capital, Hargeisa, with early voting going smoothly. Criminals banned BBC Africa analyst Grant Ferrett says that the economy has flourished and there has been widespread re-building after the destruction of the war, much of it funded by remittances from overseas. SOMALILAND POLL 246 candidates - 7 women 82 seats 3 parties All seek recognition of independence 800,000 eligible voters Q&A: Somaliland votes He says that while foreign governments have been wary of further destabilising Somalia by endorsing the breakaway republic, the failure so far of the latest attempt to create a functioning central government strengthens the case of the authorities in Somaliland. President Dahir Riyale Kahin says he hopes the poll will "compel the international community to accept our rights to join the world community". A total of 246 candidates, including seven women, are contesting the 82 seats in the lower house. Candidates must demonstrate adherence to Islam, be at least 35 years old and in good health. They must be high school graduates with no criminal record. The constitution limits the number of parties to three. It also forbids the creation of parties based on region or clan. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/4292678.stm

lol@dribbling capabilities dont u just love a yank's terminolgy on football, lol Your right saxib, Liverpool hav been robbed by Chelsea before on handball decisions but i guess the refs were not big enough to give the decisions As for the other teams from Europe, we will have to wait and see, i think this may well be another English CL winning season, but its still alittle early

Salaama Calykum I recently prayed with a number of people who worked at the same place (as each other). It was time for Duhur, as we were about to begin one them explained that they were prating 2 rakca for Duhur and 2 rakca for asar. After the two rakca i carried on with an additional 2 as required for Duhur. I later asked some of the locals why they were doing this. They mentioned that if your 7km (some said 12km) away from your home, then this can be taken as travelling (even if you dont leave your city). I was very skeptical, if anyone could please expand on this i would be greatful.

LST hit the nail on the head, making money is easy, saving is the hard part! A no access savings account (1 month notice) is the best option, but watch out for the interest, drop it in the unwanted interest box at the mosque.

the gap between the Premiership champions and European champions is not as wide as some may have you believe. Chelsea packed the middle of the park and didnt play because we were tactically better, one good chance for Robben but we should have got BOTH penalties, the ref was scared of Jose Moner! Negative play, he makes a sub in the 90th minute (Rob Huth), where is all that talk of revenge? Where was all that stuff they have been saying in the media all week? Onto Sunady!

No saxib, your just another Gunner with limited knowledge of the game, the guy who puts Pirlo infront of Makalele  Didi is an old man now but there was no better diff midfielder before Makalele came to the Prem, if you actually watch the games you would have known that, but i guess you only pay attention when Arsenal are on and Henry is on the ball like everyone else at Highbury We will compare the three in the world cup IA!

When did showing someone an image or series of images dowloaded onto a mobile phone become an offence. Yes the guy was dumb for doing it, but these westerners are little over the top some time. A fine would have been enough but a jail term is over the top. I have seen ppl have these images on their phone (i havnt watched any of them as would'nt be able to stomach it both physically and mentally)and have warned them to get rid of the images before they stopped and searched one day. A breach of the peace  but the Brits (with many Scottish regiments)are the ones who caused this image on the video in the first place

Its a very common aspect about Somalis to ask how much you earn or how much was this or that, just say alxamdullilah and they will get the idea, if they persist you should come up with a question of your own, like why do you care? WOL: could be your first victim
-
It is your opinion saxib and a good one at that but Makalele is the man in central midfield, Didi Hamman comes a close 2nd (not being baised at all)even though he getting old. Who toke Germany to the final in 2002? He made a mistake in the final though to let in Ronaldo  Pirlo is over=rated in my book, he has skills no doubt but i thought Gattuso was Milan's anchor man? Just saw Barca destroy Udinese, bring on the Russians!
-
In the 80s there was a Brazilian who smoked 40 a day, he a doctor and played in 3 world cups, so what gives???
-
Makalele give way to Pirlo???? Are u serious man? What is it with Gunner fans saxib, they like the overated players and diss the 'real' players. I have a freind who is always going on about Robert Pirez (i have always thought hes overated, a part from the shimy he did vs Cannavaro in the 2000Euro Final to set up Trez) All the Milan players on that list should not be on that list. Scheva maybe, but the rest no way. Scheva had a mediocre season at club level and so di the Milan defense. How can you lose a 3 goal lead in the CL final??? and then be in the best 11 for last season? The votes were fixed i tell ya! Canavaro should take Nesta's place, Cafu was tortured by Sun Ji Park formerly of of PSV, Lampard should be replaced by Stevie G, Dida to be replaced by Cech (Even though he wasnt really tested enough). Anyway, apart from that, 2nite is a CL night, enjoy!

That autobiography kept me warm during those cold days on the tube in 2001-2002. Just the other night i was reading a post about on how two people became muslims but Malik Al Shabaaz's was truely an amazing story.
