Galayr: TFG ministers more qualified than ministers of neighboring countries

I have to agree with Naxar on this, most Somalis use the "dh" over the "r" in these kinds of words/names. Galaydh, it is..

As for the topic, Galaydh made a good point. Somalia's new cabinet consist of well-educated and heavy weight personnel.

Yee yihiin the 'most Soomaalis'? Intaa ogahay Galeyr isticmaalaan, waana sax, shimbirtaas galeyr u naqaanaa anaga.

Using your logic, too, Gaheyr would have been Gaheydh, no?

Somalia waa Koonfur, Galbeed, Waqooyi, and Bari, sax? Seddexda danbe use "dh" and not "r". Tusaale, Galaydh, Gabadh, gaadhi, etc..

Yaa waaye sadexda? Reer Bari maa haddana isticmaalo 'dh' maa i dhihi rabtaa maanta? Reer Soomaali Galbeedkana xadkooda intuu ka bilowdaa kuna dhamaadaa? Certainly not kuwa dego Qalaafe, Mustaxiil, Dooloow, Wardheer, to name a few towns. Kuwaas lahjadooda kuma jirto 'dh.'

Reer NFDna waaka tagtay, kuwaas kalena waa gooni. Mise Koonfurta ku dartay, waa Koonfur Galbeed kuwaas.

Saa adi u aaminsantahay dadka kale haku qasbin. Sadex wax la dhaha iska yaree.

Rer bari includes all the way from togdheer to sanaag and bari itself and yes they do pronounce certain words with DH rather then R. So let me break it down for you.

1.Jibuti= Af waqoyi

2.Galbet= Af waqoye (yes, most of them such as jigjigans dire dawans perhaps minus a few villages)

Waqoye galbet= Af Waqoye

3.Bari regions= Af waqoye minus garowe (am assuming here)

4.central regions= Standrad Somali=they use northern words with southern pronunciation (Gaari rather then gaadhi, kirli rather then kidhli)

5.Banadir= ayuu nooc af Somali...Af xamari, standard, af bantu, ma tiri...

6.bay iyo Bakool=the sayid told us a long time ago these people neither speak Somali nor af gaalo :D

7. Jubaland=mostly standard but contains small pockets of other languages

8. NFD= ilaah ba og umaadas waxay ku hadasho

Do the math mr. MMA, the most commonly spoken would dialect

is af waqoye but that was not my point. My point was that you people, yes you people write northern nouns as they are written and stop changing names. He is called Galaydh in the north were he is from so why not call the man by his rightful name? would it be too difficult to write Galaydh or Badhan rather then that afghan city baran. on a personal note, when I first came to columbus, a server once told me he did not muus only to serve the guy next to me moos, lol. I think I have earned the right to be so fastidious...

MMA, are u kidding me?

Somalis in east africa are estimated to be about 20M. About 5m of them live in Ogdenia and more than 90 percent of those use "dh" in their dialect . Bari and Waqooyi combined are also more than 6m, those also would never say "galayr". You following me so far? The entire country of Djibouti is on the same boat as the above two. The same applies to Gedo, Galgaduud, and Mudug. Those combined make roughly more than 65% of the Somali population.

And to answer your other question, yes reer bari use "dh". As a matter of fact they even kill words that should be pronounced as "r" with their funny "dh" accent. Tusaale: normally, you would say "ma iga tagi kartaa, walaal?" But they would say "ma iga tagi kaDHaa, walal?". So they love their "dh". A reer bari dude would never say "gabar baan rabaa!". LOL. And of course there are few bari/western towns that would always have different dialects than that.

Zak@ whilst i agree that reer Bari use DH in many cases i have to correct you though on the population estimate of Bari and Waqooyi which is far off

They do do not add up to 6m, by waqooyi i assume your reffering to the 'I' clan who at the most are 2.3M. Bari even at its highest estimate does not go past 1M.

Hales, so Duke's formula was totaly false? He told us that Puntland was one-third of Somalia LOL.

Seriously sxb, are u saying that Somaliland along with most of Puntland are only about 3M?

Lol@ 1/3 of Somalia

Puntland including Sool and Sanaaq has the same population as 1990 Mogadishu.

Awoowe Somaliland including Sool and Sanaaq is 3.7M +, Puntland although registered at 2.5 (including Sool and Sanaaq which are around 600,000) is really if you include the main clan, the clan from Goldogob and the Burtinle are around 1.8M max (likely lower).

This is my estimate sxb.

NGONGE

Pulling numbers out from thin air has become a national sport around these parts. I mean only yesterday did a certain Nomad tell me that Qardho's population (including the tourists) was 1/3 of Puntland. Ma run baa? :D
