1. Why do the Somali Army need air to service missiles?
2. I hope the airport has a drainage system. All this effort can easily be undo by waneter. Good progress! When is Maakhir University project starting? LSK, all is well I hope?
3. What are their wishes exactly and how does this man figure into them?
4. I am rather puzzled by the coverage. Suicide bombings killed 43 people in Beirut on Thursday. Where was the outrage?
5. Salax, This is rather unfortunate. I think tribal militias challenging the Government is a bad idea. It is no way to respond to the Government's perceived or real injustice. The last time that tribal militias attacked a central government in Somali lands, we ended up with 25 yrs of hell. The man looks like a warlord in the making.
6. ^We shouldn't undercut the efforts of those who tried to make it. Somalis in Mnpls did well when they sent of theirs to the Mnpls City Council. Noor and Ilhan have been very involved in the local party politics and made name for themselves They are not off the street Jago doon. They deserve the community's support. P.s. Every person who runs for an office is jago-doon. The difference is what Somalis do afterwards.
7. Every Somali 'leader' jets of when summoned by Ethiopia. From Ras Kamboni, Ras Asir to Zeila it is the same story.
8. The old man was almost floored, someone grabbed his shirt...sad really. https://youtu.be/3wL1VW-ucbs
9. Baashi was agitating, not that's an excuse for Cirro's behavior.
10. Without an independent entity, preferably a central bank, that sets monetary policies, it will be futile to flood the markets with illegal notes.
11. Thanks for the info sxb. I am looking forward to what Turks do with Garowe Airport project.
12. Is 4km the standard? How big is the airport to the rest of the Somali airports and can it handle big cargo planes?
13. Nuune. Are they going to build a new terminal? I understand they will extend the runway?
14. Nuune. Have you seen Bosaso airport? My hope is these infrastructure projects materialize. It seems the Chinese are working hard and Somalis workers are following their lead. I hate to see sub-standard projects. The people could use a win.
15. @Tillamook said: ^ I still don't understand whether this scheme is meant to generate a return for the people who invest in it, or it is just another glorified form of Qaaraan? From what I understand, it is Qaaraan. Here's another guddi http://puntlandi.com/sawiro-liiska-guddiga-hormarinta-sanduuqa-gobolka-mudug-oo-laso-bnadhigay/
16. ^Apparently there's sanduuq for Mudug now, a development fund of sorts.
17. Yes, this man is everywhere but we need to remind ourselves he is there with our blessing (of course not the Somali public 's consent but their so called leaders' acquiescence). This situation will only be solved when we decide to hold the so called leaders accountable. We defend them yet we complain about their doings. Let's not overestimate Ethiopia's power. It is a poor country with ethnic-based, oppressive regime that control the entire economy and stifled all political activities. The TPLF runs the place with entire fist. Ethiopians were defeated in Xamar and they can be defeated elsewhere. We have the tendency to point out the obvious yet decide not to do anything. Let's not project our failures onto the people that are benefiting from our stupidity. P.s. Here's one example of our stupidity, people like Xaad and Diiriye used to be against Ethiopia, now they call them our good neighbors. President Xasan showered the Late Zenawi with praises, called him his brother, the same Zenawi whose troops by Gabre carpet bombed Xamar. Where's the outrage? What gives? Instead of documenting the crimes committed in Xamar and holding the Ethiopians accountable, our people chose to forget everything. We rather focus on motions, firings and reshuffling by so called Parliament and Government "run" by men who sold their people and land. Why would anyone hire Cumar Baruur and appoint Abdishakur as UN envoy, two men who committed treason. Again where is the outrage by us? Let's not forget what AMISOM did and what Ethiopians are doing in Hiran, Bay, Bakool, Gedo and Galgadud. It's cliche but we got the leaders we deserve.
18. The first one is not realistic, the second is doable and the third one would require a lot of hard-work.
19. There hasn't been any wars between major clans since early 90s. Every subsequent major war since early 90s were between sub-clans within the same larger clan. Apart from Juba, borders were quickly established following the fall of the Barre regime. That started with Mudug agreement where Aidid and Yusuf decided to spare their people. Since every major war including the Beledweyne conflict carried out by Ato, Kismayo conflict between Jees, Morgan and Hiirale, Xamar between Cali Mahdi and AIdid and Puntland civil war, were mostly fought by sub-clans within a large clan. You can segregate Somalis and divide the country into million villages, these things will still persist.
20. I am well. Most of the land disputes and conflicts in today's Somalia is between people within the same tribe. Your assumption that segregation will solve the problem is flawed. What do you suggest, each sub-sub-sub-sub clan should go to their village?
