  1. The first phase will span some 6 200km and will link Pakistan (Gwadar and Karachi), Djibouti, Somalia and Kenya
  2. Huawei Marine has announced that it will soon finish a “desktop study” for a new subsea cable system, called the Peace Subsea Cable, to connect South Africa, Kenya, Djibouti, Somalia and Pakistan (Gwadar and Karachi).
  3. I am glad we agree on that. The last thing any Somali region wants a small cabal of businessmen with politicians in their pockets controlling all business activities. Movement of goods and people are also key. I think a difference in politics should not hinder the economic integration of Somali regions and movement of people. Puntland depends on Hiiraan for most of vegetable and fruits, I don't see any reason why they shouldn't get that from Boocame farms.
  4. Galbeedi, In the normal world, Hargeisa should take its responsibility seriously but since it is not normal world, that responsibility of ensuring Awdal's progress falls on its leaders, traditional leaders, politicians, businessmen, religious figures, etc. It seems the leadership is asleep on the wheel, is bought off by Hargeisa or simply don't give sh!t. In any case, nothing is given in this world, it is either earned or taken. Considering reer Awdal have not caused any trouble for secessionist, they have earned the rights to everything but since Hargeisa does not seem to understand or appreciate that, reer Awdal now must take and I don't mean through violence, political accountability or even not paying taxes. Even Eastern Sanaag is fighting to get its share. More and more money is being spent on Ceel-Daahir-Cerigaabo, something they hope to spur economic activities and tie all of Sanaag to Bosaso port. Puntland can be a torn in the Federal Government's side and obviously they do undermine the Federal Government at times, they do secure funds no matter how small from the feds and more importantly, they have been permitted to seek outside donors and investors hence the Chinese building Bosaso, about to build Gaalkacyo Airport and linking Garowe to Eyl in exchange for exploration licenses.
  5. I remember during Xasan Sheikh's tenure, a group of Mogadishu businessmen tried to monopolize fuel imports. They built fuel depots and they thought let's put chokehold on everyone. Luckily, they were rebuffed. Competition is good for business and for consumers.
  6. Old Observer, Your last post doesn't make sense. Regardless of what Oromo does, the federal government has an obligation to protect Somalis in Oromia. If the Oromo government and forces fail to enforce the law, the obligation falls on the federal government. The federal government does not need to be invited to Oromia in order to save lives. You can blame the Oromo but ultimately, it is the federal's government to ensure the safety of all people. A failure to do is an abdication of responsibility or an intentional act.
  7. And at the other end of this fine republic, I wonder if these poor Somalis care about this silly stunt. Surely, the old man can school us about this recurring tragedy.
  8. Common sense? If there was any common sense, an unprovoked attack on custom check point would haven't been issued. Lives and properties lost over political stunt. Somaliland's resolve? Come on, we are Somalis. These Lalala lands are tribal enclaves. Any war between them will be tribal in nature.Tribal warfare is no one's interest. One would have hoped 30 yrs of wars would have sunk in this simple fact into people's minds.
  9. Yes, we should acknowledge and respect all legally recognized borders Hence we should give the old man a map of Somalia Now, those who want to redraw these borders are the ones wanting to start a conflict
  10. Why drag this old poor soul in front of the camera? Schooling involves imparting some new knowledge onto others, the old man did no such thing, just recycled stuff which brings me back to my question, why drag this old man in front of camera?. He gave him his tusbax and shaax.
  11. Egyptians stabbed the Palestinians in the back, time for them to get screwed as well.
  12. It would seem to me the Ethiopian Federal Government and federal forces are either losing control or letting Somalis get killed in order to further inflame this conflict. If the Federal Government fully knows and understands the insincerity of the Oromo government/forces in protecting Somalis, then the Federal Government should move in and impose a direct control. Or otherwise, this has became a case of Somali "Federal" states thumping their noses at the central government, in which case, this would essentially mean Addis has lost control over the periphery.
  13. Jawar seems to be losing it. I want to know why the federal government is not protecting Somalis or relocating them to the Somali region. The troops seem to be intentionally setting up Somali civilians to be killed.
  14. Garad Wiilwaal on Somali killings. It seems the federal troops are setting up the situation and Oromo militias are moving in for the kill.
  15. Minister Beyle in Qatar Wasiirka Maaliyadda Xukuumadda Federaalka Soomaaliya, Mudane C/raxmaan Ducaalle Beyle iyo wafdi uu hoggaaminayo oo ku sugan Magaaladda Doha, ayaa la  kulmay Wasiirka Wasaaradda Maaliyadda ee dalkaasi, Mudane Cali Shariif Al-Emadi, iyaggoo ka wada hadlay arrimo badan oo ay ka mid yihiin xiriirka ka dhaxeeya labada dhinac.
  16. It's easy to start a conflict when it is not your people that are being displaced or your property being destroyed.
  17. The girl in the middle is cute; she know it too
  18. Holac, it's funny-God bless our people.
