  1. Ironically enough, a stable Somalia would have been a great asset for Ethiopia at moment like this. The Horn will rise together or burn together. Ethiopia is the source of stability and instability in the Horn.
  2. Old Observer, So, would other members of EPDRF more amenable to someone like Lemma, granted if they agree on allowing Oromo politician as the head of government? Or does everybody now believe Oromo want all or nothing?
  3. Yoniz, I am glad you pointed that out. How can a regional court make a ruling on federal case? I assume treason is a federal crime. Are there even federal courts?
  4. Old Ovserver, Well, they are becoming more emboldened everyday. They seemed to have embraced the idea that they could bully everybody. Would other nationalities specially the Amhara be comfortably with having someone like Lemma Mergersa as the Prime-Minister? My only concern with Somalis is that they will mirror with what's going in Somalia. It is a vast region populated by most Somali clans with not enough force to impose the will of the State. The Somali tribal regions namely Somaliland and Puntland will also be tempted to get involved. Even if the Somali gets independence, Somali idiocy might plunge it into war.
  5. Old Observer, Yes, you are right the Oromo are becoming belligerent and vicious. When you say 23, I assume you mean the numbers of seats within the parliament? I understand EPRDF claimed to have won all the seats in the last election. My question is since the party is made of TPLF, OPDO, ANDM and SEPDM, how do representatives from other regions including Somali and Afar fit into it? Do they have a say in the Executive Committee?
  6. Is TPLF losing its grip on power? MPs of the Oromo People's Democratic Organization (OPDO) and Amhara National Democratic Movement (ANDM) have refused to attend the parliament sessions. The parliament lacked quorum since these parties account for 50% of the MPs. OPDO and ANDM make up the largest block within Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF). They were merely maqaarsaar for the TPLF but now they are acting more independently. Like the Somali 'leaders' making their pilgrimage to Addis, such disrespect would have been unheard of during Zenawi era. Should OPDO and ANDM continue gaining power, Somalis are screwed as they have no seat at the federal level.
  7. Tallaabo, I don't mind seeing this dude in the dumpster, after all, he sold our resources. But you are right in asking what did those young men die for? We have lost our moral center, sense of compassion and reason.
  8. Yes, the reporting has been one-sided largely because there is no real media presence but more importantly, it is the Oromo regional and federal leaders are shaping the narrative. The other media outlets, mostly diaspora and opposition ones, want to malign Somalis by saying they support Woyanes. Of course, Iley was lapdog but how can justify the killings of Somali civilians who lived in Oromo regions (or former Somali districts) for decades or centuries. A lot of people were killed in police custody or the police simply did nothing. A good number of people were killed by mobs. A lot of the victims are people who know nothing about Somalis or married into Oromo.
  9. Oh boy, so what would they accuse him when he returns to Burco?
  10. I like this kid, she yells danger, danger, danger once she realized when he is filming her. I am assuming this is not a recent trip. @Xamar waa ayo LOL.
  11. She's cute. Does she have a sister or cousin
  12. The Government loses credibility if it buckles under pressure. Don't arrest him in the first place but if you do, let the process take its course.
  13. How long have they been on these hills and mountains?
  14. People have to make a decision, loyalty to tribe or country? BTW, what did the likes of Mahad Salad, Shakur and other MPs of any clan do for the respective communities? These men were to go to Nairobi instead of the drought stricken regions that they supposedly represent. I never understand why fight or die for men who gives sh!t about his people. I guess every nation gets the leaders they deserve.
  15. Whether Somaliland is a colony or not, I think we can agree the entire Somali nation and land are not free in any sense of the word. Otherwise, they wouldn't be beheading our women and children and mutilate their bodies in Oromo towns and villages.
  16. Since September 2017, al-Shabab militants have overrun four Somali government military bases, killing more than 60 soldiers and seizing large quantities of weapons. Now, a military assessment by the Somali government found some of the troops manning these bases are completely unarmed.
  17. Cadnaan, your thinking lacks logic. Has elimination of Ajarun ensured that same problems won't arise again? We need new ideas and innovation not extermination.
  18. Fatso won't go to Xamar for awhile? I am surprised Xaad and Diiriye didn't join the chorus?
  19. CC appeared before a court late this afternoon. let's what happens.
  20. I remember when they were building Maakhir University Campus. They erected a mosque in the middle of the campus. I wondered why? It seemed like a waste of money and surely, there are a lot of other mosques in town. We care about symbolism.
