Those who work with the government are rewarded, for instance, if a farmer wants fertilizers, the price is keeping an eye on his neighbors. Every neighborhood, subdivision and street have assigned residents who report any new movement, new residents, etc. In Somali territories, spies work as day laborers, university lecturers, businessmen and of course, there are the Somali collaborators.

  14. Somalia should stick to its guns. One can't go to wherever the wind blows. There is another brewing tension between Saudis and UAE, what next? Somalia has to choose between these two. If this tit for tat continues, Somalia will lose economically but politically, it is UAE that will look weak. They are spending unnecessary political capital on fragile state whose alliance cannot tip the balance of power in the region.
