  1. They are haven't subdued Xamar as Xamar had no control over the rest of the country. Right or wrong, Mogadishu is what matters and Emirates have no longer any solid presence. And contrary to what many say, all nations prefer Mogadishu to regional governments. What problem with the Federal Government is that it asks everyone to fall in line without offering any alternative. For instance, CCECC has presence in Puntland, they built Bosaso Airport and suppose to build Galkayo Airport, Garowe-Ely road, etc. The Federal Government could have approached the Chinese in trying to find more investments for Puntland, in particular, Bosaso port.
  2. On the plus side, Harun did good job. It usually would have taken months to find out about these shady deals.
  3. Dear Cadnaan, If USC leadership [I am not talking about the qabiil] had any common sense in 1991, we wouldn't be in this quagmire. Instead they dismantled the Somali State and wrecked everything. For Abdiweli Gas, it's very unfortunate situation but one the Federal Government is partly responsible. The lack of legislations regarding investment, terrorism, economic and political integration, completion of the constitution and the status of Mogadishu is hindering Somalia. And regarding these Arabs including Qatar, they could give rats @ss about Somalis.

  5. Itoobiya has extensive spy network in Ethiopia and Somalia. Within Ethiopia, apart from traditional security agencies, the party uses its members to spy on neighbors. Those who work with the government are rewarded, for instance, if a farmer wants fertilizers, the price is keeping an eye on his neighbors. Every neighborhood, subdivision and street have assigned residents who report any new movement, new residents, etc. In Somali territories, spies work as day laborers, university lecturers, businessmen and of course, there are the Somali collaborators.
  6. I can't believe but I agree with Daaco. Things change in an instant in that neighborhood. I wouldn't be on anything.
