  1. Salaamz, Why go abroad for a 'broad' aka a Xalimo/Xaas? Pros - She will be Debt free , meaning she can stay home and be a housewife instead of running for the tube or bus in the morning with you. Lets face it, dumrakaaney qurboodha jooga, most of them who are 'intelligent' 'good' sistahs have a heavy Student Loan with them and that translates to them being more interested in becoming a 'Career Wife' and not a 'House Wife'. They are too worried about paying off their 'Debts' to stay home and take care of the home. However, a Xalimo from the East (Somalia/land, Khaleej or Asia etc.) most likely doesn't carry that 'debt' with her and can easily fit in as a Housewife. Pros A xaas/xalimoo from the East when u ask her 'goorigaa baan eexayneesa' aka you will be a Housewife, she won't have a problem with it. Infact, her role as a Wife is CLEAR to her. No Confusion (in most cases)! Compare that to a Xalimo from the West and ......... (This part I'll keep Silent about for my own safety! Cons -She might end up watching 'OPRAH' and leave the Faraax the next day after she gets her Citizenship (the Xalimo from the East) -Deen wise, her understanding of Deen would be just a 'Cultural One' but thats probably a minimal difference.... 4. Salaamz, Certainly permitted. Necessity overrules prohibitions in the juridical rule. If this is a fiqh principle, then a) Organ Donation is permissible (from what I understand, to save a life) and b).....z) this principle can be abused and is often abused. For example , using this 'Necessity overrules prohibitions ' fiqh rule, it can be made permissible for a Muslim Cancer patient to smoke weeed to help them with their Cancer and thus, help to save their life. Also, about Contraception, some ulema like Imam Ghazzali prohibit it because they take the view that the Semen is meant for Pro-creation (making babies) and not just for pleasure (ejaculation). In addition, the Subject of Abortion is not simple. Since life doesn't begin (meaning the spirit doesn't blow into the fetus until 120days), then some are of the view that before the 120days, their is room for some flexibility. Shiek Yusuf Al-Qardawi is of the view. However, there are some stipulations to it too. In anycase, Jazaka Allah Khayrun Fi Amanillah
  5. Salaamz, Originally posted by Conscious Manipulation: From what I gather of this whole talk of integration, it just seems to me that integration is just another tool the west wishes to utilize in their never ending pursuit of attempting to convince Muslims to adopt secular values, of course, with the implication that Islam has failed to provide a solution to their problems. Interesting Comment....hmmmm! Perhaps you meant to say that the west is attempting to assimilate Muslims by integrating them. After the integration process(i.e. unrestricted and equal access to "social goods"), the west hopes that the muslims will assimilate themselves. In any event, integration helps minorities more than it hinders them. Akhi, the last sentence here needs some clarification. Maybe you can give us an illustration (example) inshallah, of ways that integration helps miniorities. "Necessity supercedes proscription" (الضرورة تبيح المحظورات). Do you think that the majority of North American ulema use this principle in their ijtihads or do they encourage 'Assimilation' and/or 'Integration' because it creates less friction for the average muslim and is more acceptable to the massess? P.S. It is incorrect to assert that either Muslims will be assimilated or Muslims will be left behind. That is equivalent to saying, "you are either young or you are old". Clearly, this is not an exhaustive premise as you can be "middle-aged". Muslims might be integrated without being assimilated. The afore-mentioned premise commits the fallacy of false dichotomy and as such is erroneous. Maybe be integration here, you mean Active Participation and Interaction in society. Well certain things for the muslims are done out of الضرورة(Necessity)such as wearing a suit and tie to an interview, making the hijab 'fashionable' at work etc. to survive and make an earning in society. However, its a very thin and blurred line btwn what you say by "integrated without being assimilated" because to keep that identity clear as a Muslim while at the same time actively participating in society is a very difficult thing to do. Just look at the average muslim home and how it is furnished (Is there a prayer area set up in the house or Is there a Huge Big Screen T.V. set up in most muslim homes (and this is usually where the family spends the most time!). What type of education do muslim children and their parents deem to be important? Education for the Soul or Education for the 'Pocket Book' and 'Family Name'? I think that once the muslim begins to feel Comfortabbble and doesn't see anything wrong with their 'modern' lifestyle, then that is wherein the danger lays and the lines have become blurred for the muslim as to what is Halal and Haram. I recall one of the nomads in here sayings once to me that there is a Difference btwn Bidda Deeniya and Biddia Dunya (Innovation in Relgion and Innovation in Worldly affairs) My Response is-If Deen/Reglion is a complete way of life, then why 'Secular' what is Bidda to just a few religious parameters i.e. 5 pillars, theology etc. Why not extend the definition of Bidda to when Muslims start to build Tall Buildings, Send their kids to Public Schools and other relevant issues that affect the daily lives of muslims. I hope inshallah I didn't confuse anyone. Masha Allah , I am glad that nomads are engaged in this type of dialogue. Example: Assimilation is like one being told 'We want to kill you; how we kill you remains our choice, because you have no option in the style of your death'. Integration is like being told 'We wish to kill you, but you have the luxury of choosing which way to die'. 'If you want, we can bury you with your shoes off or on' I like the Analogy Fi Amanillah
  6. Salaamz, My pesonal naseexa/advice is for the brother not to marry anyone that knows about his jail sentenance or convication. Waa fadhixaad iyo caaeb ina warakaas oo kaleyee dadka oogadhaan. If a family knows about that and you marry their daughter, u better believe it that u're future wife and her family will use that against you in arguments, family disputes and any time they are mad at u  As for the girls family, leave him alone and spare him the ridicule and embarassment that awaits him. You are alredy wondering what he was in jail for and lord knows if u find out, how you will treat him. So seperate ways and let it be! Thats my personal advice. And Allah and his Rasul know best.
  7. Salaamz, I think that the OBL tape helped re-install the 'Fear' image and helped to push the 'BUSH' the American Gladiator persona. Laakin ruunta xaada laa isgo shegoo, waa fuuley daadkaas, iyo waax ee yaaqanaan baaba iskaa yar! This reminds of the Cold War era because it was the same sensationalism and 'fearism' (except now adays, things have been 'Hollywoodized' and this 'constant imminent and unpredicatable attack'theory IS perfecttt for any state to gain Allegiance from its Citizens... ) that started the 'Arms Race' for Nuclear Weapons and the ever heroic battle of 'Democracy' v. 'Socialism/Communisum' Alahuma caazas aal deen wal mumineen! Alahuma caazas aal deen wal mumineen! Alahuma caazas aal deen wal mumineen! Ameeeen Fi Amanillah
  8. Salaamz, You know I am curious to watch this movie and see what sort of overall 'Theme' carry the movie.
  9. Salaamz, So when does the Electoral Vote take place? I ask this because according to the Electoral vote, Bush already won in Ohio! Whats the deal with the early vote business anyways? Fi Amanillah

  11. Salaamz, For those in the states, can anyone explain to me what the Electoral College is? From what I read, its based on Population of the state (I.e. if Texas is the most poplus state, then it has the most electroal votes) and also based on what senator/governor represents that state (I might be wrong!) and also, it only works under a 2 party system. In anycase, its interesting how this Electoral College exists in a country the advocates for Democracy? I say this because from what I read, the Electroal College represent more often then not, rural america and only yhe Informed, Elites make the vote and not the average U.S. citizen (popular vote is avg. u.s. registered voter) Electrol College Explaination Fi Amanillah

  13. Salaamz, there is a lot of truth to this as the world nears to become ONE BIG CITY, and from one corner of the world to the other, the new generations speak a common language, share a common culture and valuessss. Its a scary world to bring a child in to where Allah is not being remembered and the people have forgetton themselves. Fi Amanillah
  14. Salaamz, I don't think that you are being honest with yourself walaal, so look in the mirror first and see what you are-Bani Adam-Insan and you know that by being an Insani/Human that you are imperfect and filled with imperfections. We struggle, get annoyed, grow impatient, fight, bicker, get bored etc. when things don't go our way in life. So inshallah, be honest with yourself walaal when you look at yourself in the mirror at the end of the day for as the hadith goes ...The more you know Allah, the more you know Yourself... 16. Salaamz & Bismillah Caan Ibn Saeed Al Khudri qala: qala rasul Allahu (salallahu caliyhe wasilm): Laan yashbaacu Al-Mumin min khayrin yasmacuuxu xaata yakuun muuntaxaxu Al-Janna From Abu Sayed al Khudri who said : THe messenger of Allah salallahu caliyhe wasilm) said: The Believer is never satisfied (Laan yashbaacu )from hearing the good i.e. teachings (min khayrin yasmacuuxu) until his end will be Paradise (xaata yakuun muuntaxaxu Al-Janna) Explaination of some of the terms in the hadith 1. Laan yashbaacu (The Believer is never satisfied...) Laan-this is a conjuction, it is negative, menaing "no" and refers to the future i.e. it will not happen Yashbaacu-Shabaaca-to satisfy one's appetite, or to become fed up, or to become sick or tired, to have had enough, to have finished thoroughly, to be saturated The Meaning -The Believer will never exhaust his desire for... -They will always be capable of taking in more of... -They will never finish going through of.... 2. min khayrin yasmacuuxu (...of good he hears) Khayr-Khaayar, Ikhaayar, Khuyuur good, excellent, outstanding,, superior, admirable, better, best, good thind, blessing yasmacuuxu -"which he hears" Saamaca-he heard The Meaninging The meaning of min khayrin yasmacuuxu "being from the good he hears", which implies that what is heard is a teaching of knowledge of religion i.e the Quran, Hadith, Sirah, Tafsir, Fiqh etc. all of which branches of Islamic Knowldge which are received audibily as well as visually (i.e. the written wortd) Pre-emmently that "good which is heard" in Islam is the QURAN which is recited the Ahadith (prophetic utterances) which are also spoke hadith. The Islamic doctrines have been traditionally transmitted by an oral and scriptural scholarly tradition. 3. xaata yakuun muuntaxaxu Al-Janna ...until his end will be Paradise. Xaata-this is a conjuction with preposition meaning, until, till up, as far as. - and as a conjuction with subject the meaning is: until, that , so that, in order that - and as a conjuction with a verb the meaning is: even, eventually until, it will be Yakuun-Kuun-WIll be Muuntaxaxu-his end, his destination, his achievement or future state or conclusion Al-Janna-Paradise The Explaination In this hadith, the Rasul (salallahu caliyhe wasilm) reveals and in part explains the disposition of the character of the Believer. The outward behaviour of the Believer as described in this hadith, reveals the pyschology that is at work within him. It is a state of mind and a degree of spiritual maturation which is displayed in a desire to hear the good teachings of DEEN-UL-ALLAH , so that the more he/she listens to the teachings of Islam, the more he/she absorbs, practices, understands and realizes the truth, goOdness and wisdom of those teachings and this experience opens up his or her mind and heart to understand more and increases the desire for more without ever being satisfied. The desire for truth and goodness builds up the WILL to practice more the knowledge and thereby increases further the understanding and in the process the inner self, i.e. the personality of the Believer is gradually transformed and they become a bigger person in their knowledge, desire, will, understanding, actions and virtues Stage by stage, not all at once the Believer transcendssss his Nafs and is liberated from those negative and defective characteristics that had been acquired in their personal history. (these are some notes that I had that inshallah I wanted so share with some of you nomads. I don't know about you but I remember this hadith everytime I read or hear some speech or talk that I don't have too much interest in or some deen talk from someone that I might not be fond off. Inshallah, I hope that this is of some benefit to some of you nomads. Fi Amanillah

    The Believer....

Salaamz, Bismallah... Explaination and Interpretation of the Hadith In this hadith, the rasul (salallahu caliyhe wasilm) contrasts two fundmental characteristics of the disposition of the Beliebver adn the characteristics of the disposition (Khasaalat) of the Sinner (Al Faajir) Now the contrast is btwn to unsimiliar subjects (The Mumin and the Faajir). The dissimilarity is in the fact that the two are not exactly oppositces, for the opposite of Mumin/Believer is the Disbeliever (Al Kafir) and the opposite of Sinner (Al Faajir) is that of the Righteous (Al Baraa or Al Saaleh) Similiarly the contrast btwn the characteristics mentioned in both cases are not exactly opposites. For the opposite of Ghaarun i.e. Simple minded, nieve is that of Sophisiticated, mature, experienced and also the opposite of Kareem (noble) is baseness and the opposite of cunning (Khaaba)is franknress (Iklaas) and the opposite of Cowardleness (Laamun) is bravery. Therefore, what we have here is not a contrast of complete opposites bu a contrst in CONFLICTING CHARACTERISTICS which reflect the basic disposition. The first characteristic mention is that of Simplicity (Ghaara) in the sense of nieveness, simple minded, unsuspecting. This does not mean Stupidittty (Xaamaka) but rather that the child like quality of not expecting or thinking evil of others. This is b/c the basic disposition of the Believer is towards goodness and so they will not expect and think evil of others. For people tend to see other people, the world and life in general in the way they see themselves. If a person is good, they will think, feel and expect good from others and from life, they will be postive in their outlook. If a person is evil, they will think and feel and expect evil of others and from life, they will negative in outlook. For every person assess reality in accordance to what they see in themselves. The simplicity of the Believer comes from their inner peace which results from their sumbisisont o Allh; By Sumbitting their Will ti AKkah , the Nafs comes gradually to acquire the virteous qualities, among which are Simplicty of the heart and nobility of the will , The simplicity of the heart comes through gradually centralizing the desires and emotions on one supreme ideal -ALLAH. In Islam, the process of coming to Love for the SAKE OF ALLAH and the hate for the SAKE OF ALLAH is also making steadfast the IMAN. From Ibn Abaas who reported the rasul (sallalhu caliyhe wasilm) said " Oh Abu Dhar, which aspects of Iman is most Firm?" Abu Dhar replied : Allah and his messsenger know best and He (sallalhu caliyhe wasilm) said : "(Cooperation fo rthe sake of Allah, love for the sake of Allah and hate for the sake of Allah) Imam Al Baihaqi narrated this hadith. The love of Allah is such a tremmmmoundoussss allll consummminggg ideal that human beings require to gradually acquire it through means and medium which are humanly meaningfull. For this reason, Allah has sen his messengers and has raised in every age those who are HIS living symbols among mandking to beomce a means for the average souls to understand what it means to Love Allllah! So the love of Allah which comes from conststant remembrance of All is practically attainable through the love and adherence to hsi messengers and saintly souls. "Those who beleive and thier hears find satisfication with the rememberance of Allah, for certainly with the rememberance of Allah ,are hearts satisfied" Sura 13:v. 28 "Say if you truelly love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you, your sins and Allah is forgiving, mercifuly" Sura Al Imran, v. 31 As for nobility (Takreem-Kareem), it comes because on the basis of IMAN/FAITH the Believer over comes their Nafs and goes beyond from being self centred and slefish to being centred on Allah and ultraistic. All the virtues that make up nobility of character require self transcendance and self transformation "... and who ever is saved from the covetness of their own self, they are the ones that achieve prosperity...) Sura 59, v. 9 Can any nomad relate to any of this so farrrr? Or am I saying things that you can not relate to, have not experienced in life, qualities that you are not aware of in others or in your self. Fi Amanillah
  18. Salaamz Bismillah.... I just wanted to share with you a hadith or two that I found interesting and revealing.... Caan Abu Hurairah Caan a rasul (salallahu caliyhe wasilm) qaala: Al-Mumin GHARRA KAREEMUN, Wal FAAJIRU KHAABA LAAEMUN . From Abu Hurairah from the prophet (salallahu caliyhe wasilm): The Believer is Simple, Generous (noble in character)and the sinner is Cunning, Cowarldy) Narrated By Imam Ahmad, Tirmidhi and Abu Dauud Explaination of Key Arabic Terms (I CAPITILIZED the Arabic words in the hadith that are to be explained below inshallah 1. GHARRA -Eghrarra-Simple, hearted, inexperienced, nieve, guillibe, inattentive, inadvertent, heedless. This word can be used in a both positive and negative sense of nievity, positive in the sense of a nieve, unsupsecting, inexperienced, uncalculating person. This is the intended sense so that it is used in this hadith, for its negative cannotations; that of heedlessness, inattentiveness are unbecoming of the virtues of the Mumin and clearliy in the hadith, a contrast is being made btwn the Believer and the Sinner. (It is interesting that the very opposite meanings are expressed in the word GHARRA-Gharrur which means to Mislead, Deceive, beguile, to delude, to blind, to dazzle, to seduce, to imperile) 2. Kareem-Keraama -Noble, distinguised, high ranking, eminent, high minded, noble minded, noble hearted, generous, valuable, decent, gracious, precious, costly. The word Kareem itself conveys in a word almost a catalogue of the cardinal virtues of the Bliever. The use of the this word by the prophet (salallahu caliyhe wasilm) to describe the Believer is therefore itself very comprehensive. 3. Al-Faajir, Fajuurun, Fajara -To cleave, to break up, ti dig up, to act immorally, to sin, to be sinner, to live indicently, to lead a disolute life, to commit fornication, adulterym incest, beastility, to break social boundaries, to become chaotic, to loose all sense of values and priorities. The Faajir (not Fajir as in salat) is therefore the extreme opposite to the Mumin, who has submitted his/her will and inclination to the ideals and authority of Revelation based in the faith in GOD. 4. KHAABA from Khabaaa which mens "to hide, to conceal, to be hidden", Khaabun as an adjective describing a subject means a person who conceals his real intentions and behaviours behind his apparent "public image", thus the English word "cowardly" affraid to expose his rel intentions "cunning" 5. LAAEMUN -cunning, mischievous, deceptive, ill intented, trouble maker, manipulative, cowardly. Inshallah, these are some notes of mine that I wanted to share with some nomads for Ramadan and I'll stop at this Definitions for now but inshallah I will add the Bayaan to it from my notes Fi Amanillah
  19. You Xalimoooos are Cruel! Illahi ka caabsada oo raxma naa tuusa. Why, why, whyyyyyyyyyyy? I had this person set me up for the fall one time and Allah knows best, but 'IT WASN'T ME' She had her girl come on to me once out of no where and then like a 'well rehearsed PLAY', my friend pops out of nowhere and says 'I can't believe ure talking to my Best Friend and hitting on her'and I was like 'Ya Allah' (in my head ofcourse), "she was hitting on me" and ofcourse she was like 'Yah, right!. Needless to say, I was presumed GUILTY and that hasn't washed off, to this day... Fi Amanillah
  20. Salaamz, I'm reading this 'Charter' and I see no different from 'Charters' that are drummed up by 'Humanists', Liberal Loving, God Hating people. In no were in this 'Charter' does it explain what the purpose Somalians are-Bani Adam/Insan, at the end of the day that is wha tthey are. If that is the case, then Allah says in the Quran that the Sole Reason for the Creation of Jinn and Mankind/Insan/Bani Adam is to WORSHIP HIM/ALLAH. I don't see ANYWHERE on this, that points to that Direction-Towards Allah. In fact everypoint, points away from Allah and into 'HUMANISM' and 'Nationalism' which are SHIRKS. Examples: That our country will never be prosperous or free until all our people live in brotherhood, enjoying equal rights and opportunities What Brotherhood? Is the bond of Somalinism stronger then the Bond of Spirituality. Is the one that Kills, lies and steals my Brother? Who is EQUAL? Is the 40yr old father of 5 kids EQUAL to the 25yr old Bachelor who doesn't have much experience in life? Or is the Non-Muslim Somali = to the Muslim Somali? Restrictions of land ownership on a racial or tribal basis shall be enforced, and all the land looted by unscrupulous people is to be returned to its original indigenous people. Doesn't this promote Clanism and not UNITY? The fact that there wasn't any references to ALLAH and his Rasul (salallahu caliyhe wasilm) should raise eyebrows  Fi Amanillah
  21. Salaamz, I remembered this ayat in Sura AL HASHR:V. 19 when I read this topic And be not like those who forgot Allâh and He caused them to forget their ownselves,Those are the Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh). Fi Amanillah
  22. Salaamz, RAMADAN KAREEM TO ALL OF YOU AND INSHALLAH MAY THIS RAMADAN BE YOUR MOST FRUITFUL ONE TO DATE FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. INSHALLAH INCREASES YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH ALLAH Ameen
  23. And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). from Surat Al-Mumin on on the qualities of a Believer (Successful indeed are the believers) means, they have attained victory and are blessed, for they have succeeded. These are the believers who have the following characteristics: [الَّذÙينَ Ù‡Ùمْ ÙÙÙ‰ صَلاَتÙÙ‡Ùمْ خَـشÙعÙونَ ] (Those who with their Salah are Khashi`un.) `Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn `Abbas said: [خَـشÙعÙونَ] "(Khashi`un) means those with fear and with tranquillity.'' This was also narrated from Mujahid, Al-Hasan, Qatadah and Az-Zuhri. It was reported from `Ali bin Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, that Khushu` means the Khushu` of the heart. This was also the view of Ibrahim An-Nakha`i. Al-Hasan Al-Basri said, "Their Khushu` was in their hearts.'' So they lowered their gaze and were humble towards others. Khushu` in prayer is only attained by the one who has emptied his heart totally, who does not pay attention to anything else besides it, and who prefers it above all else. At that point it becomes a delight and a joy for eyes, as in the Hadith recorded by Imam Ahmad and An-Nasa'i from Anas, who said that the Messenger of Allah said: «حÙبّÙبَ Ø¥Ùلَيَّ الطّÙيب٠وَالنّÙسَاءÙØŒ وَجÙعÙلَتْ Ù‚Ùرَّة٠عَيْنÙÙŠ ÙÙÙŠ الصَّلَاة» (Fragrance and women have been made dear to me, and Salah was made the joy of my eye.) Surat Al-Muminoon,the beginning verses So inshallah from the above quotations, its a definite SIGN OF IMAN and QUALITY of a MUMIN/MUMINA not to DELAY salats pass their times and when you have an opportunity to perform salat with others, to inshallah take up that offer b/c their is more barakah in salatul jamma then praying alone or delaying the salat. When I was in school, I used to pray so many little corners of the university like some rat lol until we had a pray place/room. When I would go out with nonmuslim friends, I would always schedule my meeting with them around my salat times, they would often ask why and I'd tell them some story, the close ones , I'd tell them its cause I gotta pray. Fi Amanillah
  24. Salaamz, more famous excuses are -I AM NAJIS, so I can't pray! -I don't Have WUDU, so I can't pray, u can go ahead and pray without me , I'll pray at home (arabs are infamous for this!) Fi Amanillah
  25. Salaamz, If I am a Smart Politician, I would: -Establish contracts with international firms to rebuild the nation-A rebuilt nation -Leaseland and allow Oil firms to come and set up Oil refineries---Money into Somalia -Establish Secular schools and Universities (People will love that b/c you are establishing 'Education' (what kind of education won't be questioned ofcourse ) -Advocate for Women's rights and more women in parliament and schools (You will have the allegiance of the female population and the western world in general too which could bring recognition to your gov., universities being recognized by the international community etc. and more international contracts to bring money into the economy) ***If you provide Food, Shelter, 'Education' and Jobs for the people, as a LEADER, you can get away with Murder,Adultery or any other crime and still be loved! Clans will love you because the people will put aside Clanism when they start to live 'COMFORTABLE' and the Men have 'JOBS' A/Yusuf didn't win this by an accident, he had outside support that wanted Somalia to have a stable 'government' that can be Controlled! Fi Amanillah
