  1. For months you have been spewing propaganda about how Illey was progressive and benevolent leader, yet you write his massacres against certain Somali regions. We know the Og community has suffered a lot under Illey because of their struggle for freedom. That doesn't mean others did not suffer. He used differed method for different regions, depending on the threat. Some regions were completely closed with no movements, no trade and the borders were closed for 10 years. Those who dared to take the gun like the ONLF, their families were massacred . Because of their struggle , there is certain " Kaadi baan u soo cabnay" that Somalis use to reep both the wealth and the power of governments, yet I have no beef with the Og. community. I do believe that both Somaliland, and Puntland for many years captured members of that community and gave to the Ethiopian despots to be tortured and Killed. Lately, even Farmaajo has joined the fray and transferred Qalbi Dhagax to Ethiopia. Since serving Ethiopia pays off, some of that community have disappointed about other Somalis and decided to switch and serve with Illey and focus to build tribal power. all those problems are for us to sort out. When nations collapse, the worst characters of the people becomes public, yet despite the calamities that we went through and our apparent weaknesses, we are still here . We have no other chioce but to rise. Yet, I do believe that if a good Somali leader shows up in the Somali zone the gains of the OG community would be my gain. If we become free, we could sit as a brothers and resolve our issues without the Wayaane . THe truth is there is certain resentment among other sOmalis of the Zone about actions of the ruling class in Jijiga, and to state otherwise would not resolve our problems. After all , most of these problems were created by the " Gumaysiga Ethiopia" Finally, unless you are one of us, a Somali , it is not good to indulge the tribal issues of the Somalis. It is divise on your part to claim this tribe had suffered or that one is suffering now. It is not good to aggravate the Somali issues. You can comment on the geopolitics of the region, but stay away from our internal quralles. Despite our difference, we are still brothers. If you are on of those " Dabaqoodhi" who are protecting the system in Jijiga , you have no case, since you keep calling as Moslems instead of MUslims which you do on purpose by lying and covering his tracks. In this last response, you are trying to use suffering of others to justify the new oppression of others including in Shiniile.. If you are " Dabaqoodhi" as ONLF calls, I have nothing to talk with you, If you are Others, stay away of the Somali tribal issues and stop pitting them against each other. Leave the somali internal issues , and stick with issues of Ethiopia and the region. Further more, Illey is A Somali like me and I am willing to discuss our problems with him directly without the presence of the Wayaane. In the coming days, I will state the case for dialogue among Somalis including the names of Somali galbeed, Ogadenia, and other names to find a united Somali front for the future of the Somali region in order to avoid future problems. By the way, you do not need to respond to these thread. Let us close it.
  2. OO, You did not get the message yet. Illey and his close family members especially his own brother are multi millionaires. They got rich of the system and the used of their dictatorial powers. Yet the biggest concern of the Somalis is not about the money they looted or their business. It is about being free. It is about oppression and using the WAyaane military to deny people the basic liberty to travel within their own villages, and live without a fear. If someone from the diaspora criticizes him , he will arrest and torture his brother, father or mother. His oppression was made possible by the Wayaane military and intelligence. As the power of the WAyaane goes down, so does the oppression of Illey. He must leave with his sponsors, It is that simple. From 2014 to today he fired three vice presidents. He owns the government and the people. I do not mind if he hires or fires. What we object is the humiliation and oppression. The Ethiopian government made a new rule for people to get their passport in Jijiga rather than travel to Addis. Yet hundred of people from Harowo region, Shiniile and other places were denied the right to get a passport. After they traveled to Addis, he sent a letter to the federal government accusing them of sabotage and denying their rights after spending hundred of dollars for travel.. Illey can not be rehabilitated. If you speak up and demand justice, he would even punish you more. Furthermore, both the Wayaane and Illey want to keep the emergency rule in Ethiopia. As we speak, there is big confrontation between the Tigray strongmen and prime minister Abiy Ahmed on the issue of lifting the emergency rule. THe Wayaane want to keep the emergency rule , and want to keep killing of people everywhere. At this juncture, we do not need a cheerleader for Illey. We need solutions for the Somali region. The Russians may keep and help Assad in power at the moment, yet at the end , a dictator who killed hundred of thousands of people, sooner or later will be thrown out. Illey has blood in his hands and will go down sooner or later. Neither your propaganda nor the Wayaane support will save him this time around. We have to debate how we can all transition after Illey or how could we take advantage of the new Ethiopian change. We can not pretend that nothing has happened. Everyone in Ethiopia is taking advantage of the new momentum. I know that few months ago you tried hard to saw hatred and civil war among the Oromo and Somalis by unleashing huge internet propaganda. For the grace of God and hard work of many people, we survived the plot hatched by the Tigray and Cabdi Illey. Now, the Tigray are trying to unleash a new civil war by keeping him in power the man who murdered hundreds of Somalis by serving the interest of the Wayaane. Also in your earlier response you recycled the Dire Dawa dispute to piit the Somalis and the Oromo who live in that city like brothers. AHerari Friend who came from their said the city is fine with no issues. We demand a change of leadership and freedom from the new government. A change of leadership is the only way to avoid the civil war among Somalis. The Somali people in the zone are more important than Cabdi Illey.
  3. Wax’a uu yahay ayuu ku modaa stop acusing people I took this whole article from subulaha news go check yourself plus do not bring here the garbage blogs and tribal name callings some Somali websites use If you are interested to find tribe calling, garbage and insults , there are plenty of them in the internet. I ask you or the moderator to remove these tribal names I know some kids here Who do not have any morals to uphold who always throw insults and tribal name calling as usual. you may not believe but I did not even check jawar mohamed face book for over a month I thought that chapter was closed Further more for years ,I never ever posted a comment in any other blog or website While ago you were even said some of my posts were intended for other places . we used to call you spook and now you assume everyone is just another spook. i do not blame you but despots under fire would always assume a plot under every rock . You and I know that the Somali zone is bigger than Abdi illey . The only way he was able to rule and subdue Somalis was through the Tigray military backing. do not throw here diredawa or other issues. Abdi illey has changed his Vice President three times in four years pitting one tribe after another. Now, forget what others are doing but come up with solutions. Few months ago you said the Oromo are savages that can not be trusted with power and now you saying it is all about dire dawa. We know that tribal politics are always in the for front of the Somali issues ,yet we want to preset and debate them in reasonable way . So instead of saying that certain tribes oppose us find solutions or things could get ugly. changing Abdi illey is not the end of the world, he had been ruling for ten years and that should be enough. In every Ethiopian kilil leaders were changed every two or three years . Again, do not allow both the mothers and the baby to die. Illey and his brother are billionaires today, they can keep their wealth and retire or destroy everything. it is yours and his choice . I am at work so will talk to You this evening
  4. Shiniile is one of the largest cities in the Siti region adjacent to the city of Dire Dawa. The local people had armed themselves to fight back against the Liyu police. People are tired the impunity and the dictatorship of Cabdi Illey. They no longer fear him, and no army or Liyu police can subdue millions of people who want to be free. For the last twenty years, the Somali people both in the Somali republic and other places had lost their capacity to speak up and resist oppression. Fear of anarchy , tribal fragmentation and poverty had made the people to live and act as " Cattle and Herd" whipped by despots. I meet people traveling within the zone and it hurts to hear stories of whipping , beating and the oppression people face within their own country. People will tell you that travel within Ethiopia from Addis to Mekele, to Dire Dawa or other places is decent and reasonable. The oppression and beating of everyone including old women starts as soon as you enter the zone. Travel From Jijijga to other towns takes days to reach while people are harassed by checkpoints in every 10 km while confiscating any goods presumed to be for trade. This week , In Dharwaanje district, a dozen elders were arrested by the mayor after they protested the rape of two sisters by the LIyu police. Oromo style apprising is the only way to depose not only Illey but the Tigray system created to oppress and keep the Somalis in constant emergency situation. People must get rid of the fear and start acting like Somalis and demand freedom. Thousands of Somalis had fought and paid a higher price in Somali Galbeed to be kept under oppression in 2017. Ethiopia might be changing , but the Somali region is still a zone of oppression. It is time to rise up. We warned for years about the oppressive nature of zone designed by the Tigray to use Illey to oppress the Somali people and dominate them with impunity. If drastic measures are not taken to free the Somalis of the region, expect uprising and worse things to come.

  6. OO, You and I disagree in many ways, I am free willing nomad who does not want to carry the water anyone other than my Somali brethren. Also, I would not mind good neighborly relationship. If you want to debate or discuss some issues, judge or respond for what I write , instead of taking the sticks my detractors like OOdweyne throw at me and use to whip me to get some talking points for your employers. NO one is relying on Houthies or others against Somaliland. The threat of Houties launching a missile to Berbera is not a far fetched idea. The Saudis with their patriot missiles are struggling to keep the missiles out and their response is to bomb wedding ceremonies, hotels and even funerals. In fact, Berbera is much closer than Riyadh or Dhahraan in north east Arabia. It is a fair warning for our brothers in Hargeisa, Borama and Berbera. There is no agricultural production, and inflation is eating up the savings of the people. If Berbera shuts down even one month, we might all starve and wait food rations from Oromo in Ethiopia. Again respond to my writings , not what Oodweyne is accusing me of.
  7. The lineage to the early Muslims might be fabricated to gain status. In order to relate seven century Muslims, you need about a hundred ancestors. From 1603 to 2019, the Awdal Ugas traces 19 great grand fathers. that is just little over 400 years.
  8. Hlac It is the first informative article that covers some of the Somali clans . How about the Baidoa community. please add if possible.
  9. On April 9, 2018, the Somaliland cabinet had approved a budget in the amount of 1,867,000,000,000. One trillion and six hundred eighty seven billion, and Since the exchange rate is $1=10,000 Somaliland shillings, that is the equivalent of $187,000,000 dollars. The 2017 budget was $362,517,393. This years budget is 110% less than that of last year. How did that happen. Although in order to deceive the parliament , they have revised the numbers and added another $50 million at the last minute . If the so called experts and the opposition parties do not catch the huge discrepancies of these budgets , the ordinary people has no business to scrutinize or examine the numbers. In 2017, former finance minister Samsam Cabdi released a budget of 2, 175,104,355,662 SS, which they say was an equivalent of $362,517,393. last year in 2017, the Somaliland shilling was hovering between eight to nine thousand dollar. In the summer of 2017, just few months after the budget released the dollar hit ten thousand shillings. Rather than use the market rate or the approximate official exchange rate which was fluctuating between 9,000and 10,000, the Jeegaan used the lowest rate of exchange which was impossible even for the bank at the rate of 6,000 Shillings for a dollar. Governments usually do estimate their revenue earnings conservatively Im roder to avoid huge swings or a deficit from the original estimate. Now, using the market rate , the budget of 2017 should have been $217,510,355 or two hundred and seventeen million. in order to inflate the budget from 217 million to 362 million which is an increasing of almost an extra $150 million, they have to use an exchange rate of six thousand shilling to the dollar which doesn't exist in Somaliland. By cooking the books they could get 40% more from the shilling than it could produce. In order to cover the gabs of the false estimate, they must print more shillings to cover the 40% gap. Let me give you unexampled: You give some one 20,000 shilling and you tell him this is part of your salary as the equivalent of $4 American dollars. By giving this person four dollars , the exchange must be 5,000 Shillings per dollar. If that person goes to the market and the exchange rate becomes 10,000 per dollar in the market, you did not give him $4 but 2. He already lost half of the money. So, in order to cover these shortcomings, the government must print more money and give that person 40,000 Shillings to get four dollars. Folks, in a nut shell, that is the basic problems of the false money paper called Shillings in Somaliland and the inflation that robbed people of their savings. The corrupt family oligarchs who run Somaliland for the last seven years used these schemes and told the gullible public, the opposition parties and the international community that the Somaliland budget has increased five or six teams. How can a budget that was $362 million a years ago shrined to $187 million, almost 100% less than last year. It is all about cooking books. If you remove the world bank projects that was added to the budget, the actual Somaliland budget is around $175 million. Muuse Biixi took 7.5% of the budget. Now, let is focus the title of the main topic. The office of the president or an office that manages less than $200 million dollars is taking 7.5% of the budget or $12.5 million . That is almost the exact amount the of the budget the entire ministry of education with thousands of teachers were allocated..It is almost less than just over one percent of the budget for the health care of the entire people of Somaliland. Even if this man has 30 staff to assist, advice and manage his office, that could not reach even a million dollar a year. During the reign of the RAyaale regime , the ministry of the presidency ( Wasaarada Madaxtooyada) used to spend just over a million dollar a year, yet the hungry tribe that was agitating to replace him used to write stories comparing his salary to the white house and other leaders while full well knowing that the million dollar was for the whole office of the presidency. Siilaanyo went from the Rayaale\s million to nine million, and now the new guy is taking almost $13 million dollars. That is over one million dollar a month. .Here in Canada with a population almost 40 million people, the office of the prime minister with three dozen staff spends an average yearly budget of 6-7 million. This is a day light robbery of public purse and theft. No one is asking him to produce invoices or expense accounts; there is no budget committees that scrutinizes the expenditure of the office of the president. This is what you get when discard institutions and the system that supposed to guard the public purse. Worse of all , no one is complaining. If the man stealing the milk of your children, the water walls from your rural communities and medicine from hospitals is your clan, you should be quite and support him against others. If there is no save guard, the greedy warlords will steal with vengeance. Let me give you few strange break downs of the 2018 budget. $142,205 for news papers and books for government ministries and agencies. The office of the president alone is spending $40,000 for news papers. I wonder who has this contract to provide papers for the government. The program to build water reservoirs for the rural people is allocated for $100,000 dollars only. $60,000 was allocated for the necessary buying the medicine for hospitals, and $5000 for education travel and exams. Papers for the dear leader to read are more important than water reservoirs for the rural people and hospitals. The ministry of finance is taking almost 12% of the budget. Why would you spend $20 million to collect $140 million. The plan is some of that money would be used later for the discretionary of the dear leader. I could go on and on, but you probably got the message. Folks, the people of Somaliland had not only been lied constantly, but also abused and robbed. There are no journalists who could go and investigate these issues related to the cooking of the books and false budgets. Anyone can create a false paper, print trillions of it and exchange 10,000 to one. If you print enough money that is equivalent of the economic out put of the so called country, you might control the exchange rate to remain reasonable, but if you print to loot the dollar from the people the false currency would collapse. Muuse biixi is in office for four months , yet he stole millions already and the sad part is no one can stop him.
  10. last Friday the houthies hit Riyadh and everyone took cover an stayed in doors. It seems they are following the news. Who knows , if thins get hot , they might fired to Berbera and shut down the shipping lanes. Just a warning.
  11. Me and small group of local Somalis has sat down last Friday night with a local man who just came from Mogadishu. He is one of the most respected members of the Somali community , known with integrity, compassion and dedication . He is a God fearing man who is not a partisan or sectarian on the issues of Somali politics. He is one of those old Mogadishawi who consider friendship more than their kinship. He was present when the affairs of chairman Jawaari was flaring up, the UAE dispute and the interruption of the cash at Mogadishu airport. We asked him the UAE issues, their military activity, the national parliament; the good cop bad image of Farmaajo and Khayre; the regional governments and finally life, peace and business in Mogadishu. The round table: tell us about the parliament and chairman Jawaari. Eye witness: the Somali parliament has ceased to function long time ago. Almost 14 legislation drafted by the government that was given to the parliament for approve , amendment or change were still sitting at the parliament docket with no debates or approvals. There is a large number of members especially in the Somali senate who could not even read the Somali language. Men like Muuse Suudi and others who may talk on the microphone entertaining others all day, but does not know or interested to deal with paper trails or issues that need careful study or investigation. So, Mr. Jawaari allied himself with these people and others to obstruct the agenda of the government, and as the master of manipulator, he succeeded to blockade every thing while smiling. RT: How the chairman Jawaari affair unfolded ? EW: When the motion to depose him came in full force, Jawari resisted and tried to use procedural maneuvers, but eventually accepted his fate and went to see Farmaajo to discuss his future. A severance package was proposed for his resignation, and Jawaari agreed to resign. Farmaajo postponed the parliament meeting to debate the removal of Jawaar from the speakership of the parliament since the later indicated to resign. Then suddenly from no where Jawaari came back and changed his mind backed by damujadiid, Cumar C/rashiid, the Galmudug boys and the politicians who are connected with UAE. In this new meeting Jawaari said , " I want to kick this Khayre guy out of the country (Tigidh in aan u jara ayaan rabaa ninkan oon banaanka u tuuro) Remember that both of them came from Norway, so the idea of of Jawaari saying, I am going to exile him is not an starnage proposal- Bold emphasis are mine . Then a full force campaign among the two groups started. Those who were backing Jawaari told him to stick around and fight the real fight to the end until we depose the prime minister and save you. Among those were Damujadiid, the Galmudug boys (Fiqi, Sallaad, C/shakuur among them), Cumar C/rashiid and other beneficiaries of the UAE money. In fact, those who took over the parliament were UAE trained soldiers and local militia. Some of the opposition members were wiling to go all the way to the end up cause a fire fight .The Galmudug community and the business leaders both rejected the idea staging violence in the capital for fear destruction and losing their business and wealth. Also, the Turkish government told former president Hassan Sheikh to stay out the issues as a former president and allow the current leaders to do their task ( Folks, for the first time in decades , there are business elite and concerned citizens who are against anarchy and violence In Mogadishu which is good news for all--Bold emphasis are from Galbeedi). The next day the army chief brought heavy gun and the occupying militia were told explicitly to move out or get eliminated. The security forces knew the names of some those armed men, and eventually they were evacuated and slipped from the parliament area one by one before they got killed ( Waxay noqotay nimankii rabay in ay parlamaanka haystaanin la badbaadiyo oo I qariyaay meesha ka dhacdo). After that , Jawaari had accepted to resign and said , "I will announce my resignation at the next session of the parliament". Since he changed his mind many times, he was told to read his resignation letter not inside parliament but here in public with the full view of the media and the president , and he did. At the end the president honored him with dinner. I am not sure if he got the package he was promised earlier. RT:How do the local people feel about these confrontations? EW:People do not like these games, yet they could tolerate loud opposition or some form of opposition, but they draw the red line when it came to armed people or militia taking part to cause violence. RT: Tell us about the UAE trained military force. EW: They had two bases, one in Abdulaziz district and one near the "Trabuunka". Their soldiers were trained by American owned Black Water contractors and are well trained and equipped force that is more powerful than the Somali army itself. They drive through the city with their modern and new cars. There were weekly confrontations between them and the Somali forces. RT: we used to see in the news clips about local confrontation between contingents of the Somali army, what was that all about? EW: Actually these weekly confrontations were between the UAE army and the Somali army. For example , we were driving near the army hospital were Farmaajo was visiting and as usual all the roads leading to that area was closed and all traffic was diverted to one single lane going one direction. Suddenly, the UAE army showed up , honking and trying tp pass. Those soldiers manning the checkpoints refused them to pass, and suddenly the gun fire started. We all took a cover and run away. Some times each group will call reinforcements and big guns might be used. Since their disbandment those gun clashed which became familiar in Mogadishu went to silence. RT: The UAE is acting like state within the Somali state with their own armies. How could this happen?, How a foreign nation was allowed to keep the Somali army they trained for the host country. EW: They signed the deal with former president Hassan Shiekh to train, equip and pay them. They used to take part some local operations to pacify the city and might have taken other operations. Their soldiers are drown from connections with politicians. A parliament member might send 20 or 30 of his kin, an influential politician may send some of family members, an opposition leader might recruit some of his men to join and so on , which automatically makes these a political army controlled by UAE. The Turkish usually train the Somali soldiers and when they finish their training , they transfer the to the Somali army leadership and are distributed with different units with their equipment. Somalis did not realize but, the UAE army was capable of taking over the city of Mogadishu. The UAE has mercenary army in eastern Libya trained and paid them (General Khalifa Hafter of Bengazi is the commander of these armies and if doesn't get his way want to separate eastern Libya , so does the UAE trained army in Aden who want to form South Yemen again (just like our boys in the North West--bold emphasis are mine). The people of Mogadishu believe that if that $10 million dollars caught at the airport arrived ten days airliner, things would have been much different with full blown parliamentary crises which could have led both military and political confrontation that would have done great damage to both the current government and Somalia in general. Some people believe that the UAE trained soldiers were not just intended for Somalia, but to be deployed outside the country. The gulf nation has very small population. With oil and business wealth almost every citizen becomes an elite and aristocrat that is well educated which makes difficult to find an army to defend that vast geopolitical arena they have engaged. They wanted probably to train and reach around 10,000 and take them to UAE. By the way, they are not the only country who want Somali soldiers, Qatar want to take and train Somali soldiers for their own defence. They got the money but we got the land and the people. Another issues with UAE is the future economic growth of Africa. The only place that has huge potential for raw material and economic growth is Africa. Big and influential cities are rising and trade routes would go through the Somali territories. The world is not a back water anymore and those sky scrappers in Dubai could be built anywhere. On that note, UAE knows that they can not stop the growth and business development of the region and Africa, but they are trying to delay these developments for another ten or twenty years through wars, fragmentation and political instability. RT: After the end of the crises, how the Somali people in general feel about UAE? EW: The Somali people In Mogadishu doesn't want to deal to not only UAE but the Arab states in general. Their antipathy to the gulf , Saudis and others is huge. Even the so called " Wadaado" who used to have both spiritual and business deals with the Saudis feel very differently. When I went there few years ago most of the mosques were run by the Saudis and their allies, but now, suddenly a huge shift has taken place. On the other hand, many Somalis want to disband their government and replace with a Turkish run government. When you go to the port to take your freight from the port authority and the customs they will give you the necessary receipt and you proceed with another office with a cashier. After you paid the fees you will receive a pass that indicates what time to take your freight. If you do not show up the proscribed time , a delay fee will be added. Things are running smoothly both at the port and the airport. RT: how do you know the Wahabi mosques from the others" EW: Well, the traditional Somali mosques usually supplicate at the end of every prayer ( Salaada ka dib waa laga duceeyaa). I did visit one of those run by the Saudis and all I found was couple of youths and others. There is a big shift. RT: Tell us about government institutions and how they operate? EW: The 4.5 formula does not only work in the parliament, but has touched every major government agency and the regional government of Mogadishu. If a qualified and educated person want to be appointed to certain directorship or management position, the first criteria he must pass is if some of his subclass are also employed to that or similar agency. His own clan will say that his sub clan already have two people in higher position or in other agency in different ministry , and they would argue that their clan must fil that position. There is a constant complaining to the president about these matters by clans and their politicians. RT: How is the office of the president and the prime minister operate?, is there certain bad cop good cop attitude where Khayre is the bad cop acting tough? EW: The office of the prime minister operates as a professional and the people who work there are from different walks of life. He makes decisions based on it's merit but because of certain cultural issue, certain elders or politicians would like to appeal to Farmaajo. Farmaajo acts like the chief of the Somali clans to mediate and do the necessary compromises, and that is were the so called 4.5 thing takes place. Yet, the biggest institutional difference between Farmaajo and Hassan Sheikh is that there is no chance to get any money from the office of the president. Unlike his predecessor, he can not go to he bank and write you a cheque or give cash to anybody. If you are lucky enough to get to his office, you will nt get any dollar from the president. All expenses from the minsters and government operation follow through the finance ministry and invoiced to the bank. Those who get used to get ready cash are not happy, but the financial system is becoming very transparent. RT: despite all the optimism you are talking about , the government does not even control the whole city of Mogadishu which is closed with check points. What can you say about those failures?. EW: To be frank and honest , despite the bombings and other security issues, Mogadishu and Puntland are the only places were a functioning system exists in Somalia(He means south central Somalia and not including Somaliland). The new soldiers manning the check points are becoming professionals, there are 24 hour presence in the intersections and entry points of the city. Dinner is brought to the soldiers at night in their check points. The public is largely cooperating , and the soldier in the street gives orders and no one can refuse or question. People naturally afraid from the soldiers. It is the local police which are corrupt who are dealing and wheeling , but most of these soldiers are direct . RT: how much the soldiers get paid. EW: I heard that between $200-300 dollars. By the way, they ride all public transit vehicles for free including the tri cycle called Bajaaj. RT: The Bajaaj thing must dominate the streets of the capital. EW: of couse. Hard working young men buy them though loans. The cycle costs three thousand dollars. They save ten dollars a day and pay $300 a month, and within ten months the finish the payments. It employs thousands of people. They pay the capital region government taxes and are licensed. Those who buy their Bajaaj through money sent from the diaspora generally do not work hard, and only come to drive at nights to earn few dollars. RT: You mention that Mogadishu is where institutional building is taking shape, and to some extend Puntland , where a functioning system is in place, how about other regional governments? EW: The other regional governments exist in name only. The whole South West government are in Mogadishu, both ministers and their parliament live in Mogadishu hotels or in the city. The rest of the government is carried in a bag by Shariif Hassan. In Jubba, almost all those who were opposing or unhappy about Ahmed Modoobe has left Kismaayo and relocated to Mogadishu. All the Harti groups the Sheikh community and everyone else had left, and the next battle might be between the family clans of Ahmed Madoobe. Ahmed Madoobe himself is not happy about the Kenyans and what is going on in KIsmaayo. The Kenyans are taking almost 70% of the revenues from the port and control the charcoal trade. You ca not venture 4 km outside the city were Al-Shabaab is the dominant force in country side just like outside of Mogadishu in Afgooye. There is no functioning system in Hir-Shabeele and Galmudug. The only good news from those regions is people are allowed to talk freely and debate the issues including changing the leader. RT: It seems the so called regional government thing is going down both politically and institutionally and economically, what is the main force behind their decline and disappearance? EW: It was the foreign countries and especially the neighboring countries who gave them a false image of themselves, and gave them a platform in order to weaken the national government. They do not have the respect and admiration of the people they are ruling and do not improve anything in their regions, and the only way to be relavant is to project a false image through Ethiopia and others ( Madaxweynaha degaan heblaayo oo Addis Lagu soo dhaweeyey). Due to the work of the government, the UN envoy , and especially the British government, the influence of the neighbors were reduced dramatically, although Kenya is still trying to be relevant. RT: isn't Mikael Keating the guy who goes to the UNSC and bears always bad news from Somalia? EW: my understanding is he want to stay in Somalia, and the British have a great respect among Somalis. There are European member states who are present in the capital , yet all of them take their cue from the British, and the government is attached to the British. The old colonial Italy is always sending a message to Farmaajo for official invitation but the British want to keep this partnership to themselves. RT" How about all foreign security forces in Halane and other places? EW: There are many security agencies who are here to protect their citizens who are working in Somalia, and everyone has it's own escorts to the bilateral issues they doing in the country. RT: How about the Somalis in Mogadishu? and which region they mostly come from? EW: the people in the central regions had relocated to Mogadishu in large numbers, but also, there are huge numbers from the South West in Mogadishu. Their are large numbers of Somalis from the Sool region in Mogadishu, and the number of people from Hargeisa is growing every day. .There are also large Puntland populations coming from the central regions, and KIsmaayo . RT: How about life and cost of living in the capital? EW: The cost of living is moderate with low inflation. You can ride the Bajaaj with one dollar and could eat food in few dollars. There is certainly a disposable income among the people. Foreigners who visit are amazed how things work in this city. WIFI is $50 dollar flat rate, so does the electricity and water which are working 24 hours, all of that service provided by the private sector. Yet they see bombing and business co-existing side by side. RT: How about the big business boys who refuse taxes and dominate the market. EW: When the finance ministry introduced tariffs, the government earned $42 million dollars in one month, since the law wasn't introduced and passed in the parliament, it created some problems and the businessmen took advantage. The big business guys like Hormuud, Dahabshill and others want to dominate every business large or small. They build houses, they want to enter the small meat market, chicken hatching, tomato produce market, and every thing that the small local trader wants to t do. They can revive the huge factories for cement, sugar, clothing and other major industries rather than concentrate and target small meagre business that should be left for local traders. Also, through their phone banking millions of dollars are exchanged and sitting in the system. Some estimates put that in every single day $12 million dollars worth of money is going through their system and they are able to tap that static cash and use that money as they wish. Typically, they are banks who also runs buildings and their own industries, real state , farming and other businesses without telling anyone and without following any rules. RT: How about the Somali Shilling or the money the government supposed to print at the end of February 2018? EW: The people and business do not want printed money at this juncture for fear of inflation and other issue, especially after what happened in Somaliland and many other places. RT: Now , let us talk about Al-Shabaab , the most important issue of our time. Folks, stay tuned for the next chapter of the conversation.......... to be continued By te way, last night at a fundraising dinner for our local mosque, I met one of the local Somalis who run the Hawala business. I did ask him about the effects of Dubai business problems for Hawala, and I even encouraged him to relocate for other places. He said, Dubai makes hundreds of millions of dollars from Hawala deposits and transactions.. Every deposit we make they take a cut or some kind of fee. The trade volume between Somalia and Dubai is worth billions and if they start to restrict or stop the trade they will be the losers. Only Iran and few other nations equal the trade and money they make from Somalis. Folks, the guy doesn't seemed to be worried about Dubai stopping Somalis. He believes that it will hurt more the UAE than Somalis.
  12. OO, unlike you I never tell a lie. Go google , Shabele river dring up and you will get all the links. This George Soros guy you are obsesses is for open society and open democracy. The an right wing populists use him as boggy man. In Hungry, a small time depot called Victor Orban used Soros to gain power by talking about immigrant and Muslims coming to his country and campaigned as tough anti immigrant campaigner. No one is going to settle poor and despotic Hungry or Poland. Hundreds of thousands of their citizens flood to England to work in Hotels and other places. It was close to a million Polish who flooded in England caused the Brexit, yet they complain about immigrants. Even Mr. Orban himself had graduated through George Soros scholarship. Let us leave Soros there. This has nothing to do with Egypt but we the Somalis. The Damming of Shebelle and Jubba are happening mostly outside the Somali region and but other regions. The Somali government never raised this issue for once in 27 years. I do not blame them. How can people trying to survive Al-Shabaab bombing could care less about rivers. Now is the time to check the Shabele and Juba river up stream dams. If these rivers are dammed without our impute, the most fertile land in southern Somalia will die, an we can not accept that. By the way, this issue is above the pay grade of Cabdi Illey. We want to discuss with federal government. I urge the Farmaajo government to send a delegation and experts to find out how many dams are built in these rivers.
  13. OO, was making a joke about water wars between Egeypt and Ethiopia, but may have one in our hands. According to AllAfrica report, " "The leader of Somali regional federal state of Ethiopia Abdi Mohamud Omar (Iley) said they have deliberately stopped the water flow into Shabelle rivers, the main resources of Somalis." "We are storing Shabelle river water flow behind the walls for a dam purpose and irrigation of our own farming fields in Somali region of Ethiopia," said Iley. He aslo said, " He said the move is more important for his people rather than the dying Somalis who are 80% dependent on the Shabelle river water, in terms of their cultivation of the farms They do not tell us when they filling the dams or how long it takes to fill.
  14. Maakhiri, Let me put aside my local greivances and focus the main issue you raised which are very important.. In 2017, Shebelle river was running dry 90%. Here is a report from Afgooye. "River Shabelle river has nearly dried up almost 90 percent of its water volume especially around Afgoi town, an agricultural town in the Lower Shabelle region, Southwest state which lies 30 km west of Mogadishu. Afgoi’s deputy social affairs Abdullahi Hassan Abdi alias Toogana appeals to the authorities to rectify the situation since its the season when the farmers to benefit from the river water" “I think three weeks ago, we took pictures of the river having water at full capacity but now you can see [how it is dry] which is a recurrent one. So it is imperative to rectify the situation is it is a continuous one".
  15. OO, I have no reason to argue with you because you were given a job to deny and deny and distract. Never concede any thing and blame every thing to the other side. No one is begging Illey. In the Ethiopian Kilil system every region used to get their share of the foreign aid. over 90% of the development budget goes to certain regions. spare us the useless points planning. There is no planning or regional appropriation. Let me make it simple, I want my share of the money. Since you are loyal soldier, I want you to take this message to Cabdi Iley. Tell him that we the diaspora guys do not want the fragmentation of the Somalis in the zone but his actions are forcing us to wage a campaign to unseat him in order to keep the people together. I was having a conversation with the different diaspora groups and they were discussing to bring the campaign to Addis and eventually to Jijiga to unseat Illey. Just tell your buddy that he has an opportunity to change and provide some freedom to Somalis in the zone and stop oppressing other regions. Tell him that just like his towns that we need some reservoirs , schools and medical clinics.Tell him that we would like to keep among the Somalis.
  16. Indeed. Welcome home. The man and his family had suffered a lot.
  17. Below Goday water reservoir. Below, Mashruuca Galbeedka Godey. the Harowo zone has Major towns including , Jarre, Lafa Ciise, Wajaale , Awbarre, Dharwanaaje, Araabi, Dambal, Sheed dheer, Gogti, Xerogeel, and Shabeelle. At the census of 2001, the Awbare district alone was one of the largest with 180,000 residents. Yet the whole region is forced to go under Faafan region controlled in Jigjiga. Since Jijigs is the capital of the whole Somali zone, it should not be also ruling the Awdal community zone. There are no roads among these major towns. At the census of 2001, the Awdal community numbers were 480,000. Comparing to the population growth of Ethiopia from 70 million in 2001 to 100 million in 2017, the Awbare zone could hit close 700,000 or more today, yet Cabdi Illey blocked the Harowo region to stand alone in its own resource and population capacity. THis community is a very patient community, but things are getting from bad to worse. Just this week, the Liyu police had rapped two sisters in Dharwanaaje district and nons of them were arrested or prosecuted. They say , " Cabdi Illey baa noo fasaxay kufsiga iyo wax kasta" This Liyuu police have been occupying the Harowo region since 2016 to oppress the people who complained land grabs from Illey people. It was the land grabbing of the Tigray in Addis area which caused the uprising of the Oromo. BOGA SUBULAHA FACEBOOK DE DEG Xaalada Magaalada Dharwanaaje oo kacsan kadib markii Ciidamada Liyuu Boolisku Faro Xumeeyeen Laba gabdhood Posted by admin on April 21st, 2018 04:46 PM | NEWS Dharwanaaje(SBN)Wararka ka imanaya Degmada Dharwanaaje oo kutaal gobalka Jigjiga (Faafan) ayaa sheegaya inuu guux gadood badan kajiraa kadib markii labo gabdhood oo walaalo ah ay Liyuu Police ku kufsadeen. Degmada ayaa ciidan farabadan oo Liyuu ahl a keenay sanadkii hore kadib kacdoon dadku sameeyeen. Ciidanka Liyuuga ayaan uba arkin kufsigu inuu dambi yahay, waxeyna hal hays u leeyihiin Aabo Cabdi yaa noo xalaaleeyey (subxaana allah). The Somali zone under Cabdi Illey has done a lot of developments, yet most of those are concentrated in his tribal home land region. It is about time the millions of dollars donated by the international community to develop the region to reach the AWdal area of the Kilil. One more warning. If Somali tribes keep behaving like hungry savages with greed and impunity, the AWdal community from both side of the border must find ways to unite and declare it's own autonomous state by ignoring the border ( Xuduud Beenaadka). Here, the Town of Lafaciise, yet is not even a district (Degmo). This farms are developed by the locals without no help from Illey.
  18. OO, Now you making sense for the first , and I agree with you.
  19. Look, I will be the first to admit that Illey has done a lot in terms of development in the region. The effort to eliminate the Gabooye marginalization is probably the biggest success of Cabdi Illey, and on that same note, the Tigray had done some good things in Ethiopia, but change is necessary for the project to continue or it will die. It simple as that Since you like mentioning the tribe thing, just like Hargeisa thieves, everything is done in his clan region. Out of the nine region, seven are managed by his clan. When the Oromo were crying for change, you dismissed as people who want their turn. My friend , political change after ten years of Illey is overdue.
  20. The Tigray still hold the military and the intelligence, and as long as they control that, it might be difficult to do any sweeping changes.
  21. Oo, waan ku salaamay, Gacan baan kuu taagay oo nin shaqadiisa qabsanaya ayaad tahay. No emotions, Ninku ma Artificial baa Also, the attorney general is from OPDO party. I did jump the gun when I said that Mr. Abiy is Tigray water boy, but his actions are loud and clear. It seems that this prime minister has a full mandate to remake Ethiopia. The Tigray are not done yet. My sources tell me that just like the eastern Jeegaan in Somaliland who robbed Somaliland, the Tigray guys have done few things that might hunt Mr. Ahmed. First, the billions of loans Ethiopia took for the last 10 or more years are due and the debt collectors are knocking the door. I do not know how it works , but certain loans from the international lender's amortization period like a mortgage are due now. THe Tigray have looted billions for the last 15 years. Six years ago the Ethiopian exchange rate doubled. It was $100 =800 Bir, but when the Tigray raided the banks and withdrew large amount of foreign currency from the national bank , it went $100=1600 bir. Also, they are unleashing government employees like airline workers, teachers and others to agitate. Mr. Abiy Ahmed must understand that without real changes in the Somali zone, Ethiopia will remain the old Abyssinia with different cloth. We need freedom just like the Oromo and Amhara region. OO, I agree . The Somali, Southern and Oromo are getting their, but the real job is to fire your employer.
  22. Holac, there are three Somalis , I do not know their region, but to make a good sweeping change, must Abiy Ahmed must fore Illey and appoint Mr. Mohamed Rashid, the chairman of ESPD , the Somali zone party. I think , he is Garre too. Time for change.
  23. It seems prime minister Abiy is flexing his muscle in Ethiopia. Soon the parliament speaker will be elected and Ethiopian analysts believe that he is going to be from Amhara ethnic group. By consolidating power, Mr. Ahmed named the defence minister and the Finance minister from the OPDO, the Oromo party. He nominated six ministers from the southern communities including the candidate who was running against him, Mr.Shiferaw Shigute. The Somalis got three ministers in this cabinet, and as we speak, former political prisoner Mr. Bashir Makhtal was released by Mr. Abiy Ahmed. It Looks that Mr. Ahmed is bringing the SEPDm, the party of former prime minister Desalyn to the fold.
