  1. What happened to professor Samatar and his Hiil Qaran? I thought he was in Mogadisho for business. I don't know what XX is talking about but anyone who hails from Somaliland and holds a political position in Somalia can not negotiate with us as we will simply put him/her in prison for treason. Remember those guys who were included in Shiekh Shariif's negotiating team?

Old broken down home in the background on a dirt road. These guys have the nerve to call themselves "Dawlad" for 21 years? lol You know nothing about Somaliland kid. What sets the leaders of Somaliland apart from the rest of the crowd is that they have substance and the superficial things like appearance and titles do not count much in their priority books. Whether or not our president comes out in macawis and dacas, or a mismatching suit costing $10, he will sleep at night with contentment knowing that the range of policies and programmes he set in motion is being rolled out effortlessly across the nation by our well developed state bureaucracy resulting in Somaliland's continued march forward.
  4. Madawga iyo cadaanku waa dad kala dabeecad ah. That is the problem.

His notions of creation being imagined is just odd and goes against the teaching of our deen. I advise Muslims to take the message in his writings / videos with a pinch of salt. Actually I like his books although I disagree with him when he simply dismisses the theory of evolution on some questionable grounds. However, the idea of creation being just perceptions is not his own but is a centuries old Sufi philosophy. It is indeed a quite fascinating idea and is very difficult to disprove.
  7. Gabadhuna waayo? Ma Saado oo kursiga u tirisaysaa?
  8. ^^ Somaliland has its own plans and will take its own development path. The most important foundation in any economy is its political and legal structure and Somaliland is developing in this regard much better than most of the countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. With solid democratic and legal foundations, Somaliland can only get more confidence from the international investors and governments who dislike the slightest hint of instability. History is littered with examples of nations who spent much time and effort on economic development without addressing the socio-political foundations to support it inevitably resulting in total failure and a restart from scratch. The erstwhile Somali Republic is a fitting example of this case. With the current pace of social, economic, political, and judicial progress by Somaliland without even having the benefits of international recognition, one can only conclude that an internationally recognised Somaliland is the most likely candidate to become Africa's Switzerland.
  9. I don't know af shimbireedka inanta loo qorayo, but hambalyo walaal. May Almighty Allah make your marriage one in which you find love, care, peace, companionship, Allah's bounty, and prosperity. And may Allah grant you righteous offspring who will one day benefit you and our society.
  10. Lol....... I didn't know North Korea was right on our doorstep!!
  11. Zenawi or no Zenawi Somalis are their own worst enemies. Before Zenawi Somalis had foreign partners in their fights against one another, and after Zenawi they will have no difficulty in finding willing partners to replace him.

  13. ^^ Hargeisa was a very small town during the colonial times but the city was neglected after independence by successive governments including the current one. Greed got the better of everyone and now the city is left with no space for parks or play grounds. Berbera is however more organised and planned than Hargeisa and has the potential to become the commercial capital of Somaliland.
  14. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/olympics/article-2190372/London-2012-Olympics-Team-GB-stars-earnings-fall.html According to this article Mo Farah's income last year was more than £500,000 or $750,000, enough to buy his sister a pair of sandals.
  15. Good you changed the title of the thread to draw people's attention to how bad this guy is.
  16. Mooge;858711 wrote: Dear Mr. Mo, You did well this summer and we somalis across the world are proud of you and your hard work. now that you have done well for yourself, please help your family. I know you didn't make them poor and i know it takes time Mo but remember you can never be a role model as long as your own sister who has a sick child and twin brother are living a life of horrible poverty. hope you read this message in time and act. sincerly Mooge, your fan Good message, but I would rather be a fan of a Somali single mother working long hours cleaning floors in order to send some money back to her relatives in Somalia than idolise a heartless unsympathetic man like him.
  17. Shame on Mo, he did not buy even a pair of shoes for his sister.

Somalia;858643 wrote: I don't think these guys realise that no seats were stolen, and that they were actually given to Sool natives, amazing isn't it, if they (Khaatumo movement) represent the whole region, then why do the Sool elders in Puntland disagree? Also notice, there's never any talk of Laascaanood, so where's the horumar when your "capital" is in "foreign" hands? Laascaanood in "foreign" hands?? I think you need to visit that town and ask for the identification of all those governing it. The people of Laascaanood run the affairs of their own town and chose to work with their brethren in Somaliland for a brighter future. If you insist on calling Laascaanood locals foreign, then also tell the world that the real citizens of Laascaanood like Faroole are in exile in Garowe.

Horta ma Azanians baa mise Azanis, mise Azanese. Somalilanders take note. Learn what?? Do you think we care less about what is going on in the animal farm called Koonfuria? We wish you success with the clan tug of war you lot call election, but whether you select a speaker from Azania or a president/traveller from Absurdstan is quite frankly non of our business.
  21. Maashaa Allah, good to see Somalis working hard to grow their own food.
  22. You all are talking about the trivialities of life and forgetting the main issue. Here it is just to remind you: Life is a test which will one day come to an end, so try to get the best out of it in order to be successful on the Day of Judgment.
  23. Chimera;858079 wrote: ^How do you even purchase land or property in Somalia? What would happen if I settled in area where nobody lives, far from any town or city, but nicely by the sea, would I still need a permit? Somalia is a gigantic country and sparsely populated, but everybody is very territorial. Yes you will have to get a permit from the clan chief of the area. I believe there is a great advantage for Somalis being very territorial as this unique characteristic has helped our barely 15 million folks in the world to protect a vast and productive land mass on a prime location from much larger ethnic groups.
