  1. Never been there, but since childhood Boosaaso was one of my favourite coastal towns and wanted to visit it.
  2. They should also write in their notice board- "no bulimia sufferers allowed in".
  3. Is this SOL's NATO club? If things get heated up here, I might eventually send in my membership application.
  4. Abtigiis is right. The Ministry of Education should produce a history syllabus for the nation’s school children which teaches Somali history as it happened. Let Somaliland’s students learn that the Mad Mullah and his barbaric gang were nothing more than an outlawed twentieth century Al Shabaab, and that Afwayne was the father of political tribalism and a mass murderer who was blindly supported by his entire extended D clan to commit a genocide against some of their fellow Somalis. The truth must be told indeed.

  6. Its important that both the foreigners and the Somali people are given the freedom to choose and practice whichever religion they fancy in the Somali peninsula. Why should anyone be intimidated and forced to remain Muslim if they no longer believe in Islam? Shouldn't it be better if all Somalis were encouraged to be open about their true believes so that those who harbour doubts about Islam are given proper dacwa? Allah says in the Quran that there is no compulsion in religion and so there should be no compulsion in religion.

  8. This guy should be stripped off his job in the Somaliland parliament and given to someone else. He completely neglected his duty which is to serve the interests of the people of Somaliland by enabling MPs to enact legislations and hold the government to account. All he cares about is his chance of becoming the next president of the republic. If he succeeds and is elected, I don't think he will be any better than the hordes of self-serving politicians clogging the streets of Hargeisa. The people of Somaliland should wake up and demand the resignation of this selfish man from his vital role. Also, in the future no elected politician serving his/her term should be allowed to embark on time consuming political campaigns like this whilst they still hold office.

Yoga/Pilates is a good workout for your body mind and soul it also reduces the effects of stress. It's a intensive workout for your muscles and you literally train every muscle in your body no muscles get isolated. If you train all of your muscles equally your gonna lose weight faster then when you focus on one part of your body like the stomach and isolate the other muscles. The second thing you could try out is swimming you get the same benefits as with Yoga/Pilates in that it also trains every muscle in your body but with the added benefit of cardio. You can even try out one of those swimming cardio workouts where they do workouts in the water which makes you burn even more calories then swimming alone. Swimming is a power fat burner best believe. To lose weight you need to do cardio for example walking, football, swimming or cycling etc. just anything that raises your heart rate. You also need to build muscles as the more muscles you have the more calories you burn even when your doing nothing as fat doesn't burn calories and that's where the Yoga/Pilates workout come in. I swear by this regime it works. Good luck with your decisison. Yoga!! Miyaanaad Ilaahay ka cabsanahayn? Waxa ii muuqatay oday Soomaali ah oo naago cadaan ah dhex fadhiya, cagaha iyo badhidana kor u taag taagaya, marna mijaha qoorta ku mar maraya.

  13. I would say take whichever field you are interested in as long as it gets you to the University of Minnesota which is an internationally respected institution. Nowadays, employers also choose candidates based on their Alma Mata. For instance, getting an engineering degree from some obscure state university will not give you any more advantage when it comes to employment than someone who got a BA in yoga from MIT or Caltech.
  14. Raamsade;848740 wrote: ^Good advice. But I always envisioned Xaaji Xunjuf as scrawny fella war bal maxaa ku naaxiyey horta? Anyways, losing weight is really simple since it is about balancing your energy consumption and expenditure. If your calories in exceed calories out, you gain weight. Since you're overweight now you need to increase your calories out. There are two ways to do this. One is to lower your daily calorie intake (and if you don't know how many calories you should be consuming per day, there are internet resources). So, if your daily calorie based on your gender, age and height is 2000 calories, eat 1500 per day to lose 1 pound per week as there are 3500 calories in one pound. The other route is to increase calorie out via physical activity. Aim to burn about 500 calories per day to lose 1 pound per week. Spot on. Weight control is all about the control of calorie intake and expenditure as you said. The amount of energy in each portion of food is labelled on the outer package as a guideline. Going to miyi as Miskiin said is also not a bad idea as it leads to the consumption of less food with less sugers.

Isn't it amazing; 1. White people claim Mogadishu 2. Some funny speaking people claimed Afgooye 3. Jareer claim all of Jubboyinka This shows that we are moving forward, when could this have ever happened, the people are getting a voice, good for them I say! Who are the white people and the funny speaking people you are talking about? Care to name them?
  16. Leezu;848769 wrote: Jareers are not Somalis, they shouldnt be included at all. Their land is in Tanzania, there they can administer how ever they want but why should they even have the slightest power in a country that is not theirs... Why not give Oromos refugees in Hargeisa some power while we at it? Soon we will have a good nation run by non-Somalis I bet you are sitting comfortably in a Western country with your Western passport kept safely in your drawer. The Somali Bantus despite their different origins are Somalis nationally, culturally, linguistically, and religiously. They have as much rights to the Jubooyinka and Somalia as you do. So please stop your nonsense and quit the pipe dream that the Jubooyinka are part of Og@@denia and so are only for Ogs.
  17. My friend told me recently that there is a new popular sheikh in Wajaale who takes patients' blood samples and asks his army of spirits to fly it to testing centres in Europe and so treats all sorts of illnesses. Although, he usually diagnoses most patients with kidney failure and macaan regardless of their real ailments, I am sure your infatuation with married ladies will not be too much of a problem for the sheikh to deal with.
  18. Abtigiis;848313 wrote: From the sheer weepy introductory post he made, Nudawn is obviously a young person. Welcome to the forum bro, but if your argument is that clan is the problem in Somalia, it is an argument for which no supporting evidence is presented for. Few countries in the world, if any at all, do not have race, clan and ethnic factors that divide their citizens. Yet, there is only one failed state in the world right now - Somalia. One of the deepest clanish sentiment and identity in the Somali peninsula is exhibited in Somaliland, yet Somaliland is the only properly functioning regional state in what used to be Somalia. The amount of hate, mutual suspicion and animosity between the Amhara and the Oromos, or the Amahara and the Tigres, or the Sidama and the Woleita is not milder than the SL-PL, or PL- Galmudug rivalries. The political bad-blood between the Kikuyus and the Luo in Kenya cannot be less poisonous than the internal clan feud between HAG sub-clans!! The bottomline is that clan or clannishness is not why Somalia failed and why it is failing. It is lack of education and visionary leadership. A vibrant Somalia can prevail even if the diseased clannish mentality continues as long as there is a political leadership (a handful of them) that could steer the country forward economically and politically. The allies of Sheikh Sharif today do not come from one single clan. Politics in Somalia is now starting to resemble politics elsewhere in that it is interest - mainly vapid materialism- that drives the belief and actions of politicians. It is why a showdown is inevitable between Faroole and Abdiweli if one or the other finds that the other is an obstacle to his ambitions. Yet all this does not mean clannishness is defensible. It is not. But you should listen to Khadra Dahir's "cudurka kaa gala fardaha, hadii laga gubo dameer" to get the jist of my post! Also, frothily mouthing one's partiotism and cleanliness does not always make one clean, because most of the somali politicians actually say good things about somalinimo in the media. A man I met in Hargeisa recently, clad in all white Tabliqii dress, told mee that he partticipated in the big Tabliiq gathering and that he is added to the list of the Jamaaca that will travel to Bangladesh! Nothing wrong with this, except that he is the same man who was singing "Leyla, oo Laylaa" from the Indian movie "Qurbani" just a month ago to cheering young ladies in summertime! And except that after I reminded him about that epsiode of "Leyla" and jokinly asked if he is truely reformed, he smiled and said " waar dee meesha Bengaladish naago eesh calaa ah baa la gu sheegay" implying that the Tabliiqi Jamaaca are paying his travel expenses so that he has a hot sexual romping in the rice country. So, let us not get too emotional about the nice things we say in this forum. Much more than political correctedness in this forum is to make sure that we actually contribute to the eradication of clanisim by living the life we preach! The posts Xaji Xundjuf and Dr. Osman exchange are the most hilarious, but I am sure they are not any more clanish than the average faarax in this forum. Very interesting analysis there!! Man... the fake tabliiqi should be stopped.
  19. I think Islam encourages the preservation of archaeological sites as tools for education since the Quran has verses in which God Almighty tells us to look at the remains of those who were destroyed through out history. The Islamic scholars should deploy more analytical thinking about religious matters incorporating our knowledge of today's world as the time of our prophet (pbuh) in the seventh century was very different to the 21st century we live in.

God can create things any how He likes.

He will not win this October for yesterday's discovery as the nominations for this year's laureates is already closed. However, he is likely to share the physics prize in the next three to four years if his is still alive. I hope he is recognised for the contributions he made to science while he is still alive. Intellectual giants before him like Nicola Tesla and Satyendra Nath Bose after whom the boson is named were overlooked by the Nobel committee despite their immense contributions to fundamental science.
