^^are you? This decision by the police and council is rediculous in my view. Why can you not celebrate eid by waving a flag, i may just get S/land flag out and drive through the place .

Religious leaders have hit out at a ban on flags at a Muslim festival. Police claim waving flags during the Eid-ul-Adha celebrations in Southall, west London, on 21 and 22 January could provoke violence and racial tensions. The Met said anyone who persisted in ignoring the ban could be arrested for breaching the peace. Sadiq Khan, of the Muslim Council of Britain, said he failed to see "how the carrying of national flags causes anti-social behaviour". 'Faith celebrations' Mr Khan, chairman of the council's legal affairs committee, said: "This is the first time I can recall someone being prohibited from waving a national flag in a public place, other than a sports occasion, in the mainland UK. "I can't see the legal justification for this. Whether you agree or disagree with the way people celebrate a festival they are not doing anything against the law." Ealing police, who made the request for people not to take flags, said the celebrations were faith celebrations and therefore had no link to any national flag. A police spokesman said that in the past waving flags has "sometimes led to the incitement of violence, racial tension and breaches of peace between groups in the Southall area". "Local community representatives have been consulted on our policing strategy. They fully support our tackling of anti-social behaviour to help preserve the dignity of this religious occasion," he said. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4167765.stm

^^^ability skill and acheivements is whats defines a great player. Abede Pele had both whereas Jey Jey only had the skills. Abede had an eye for an opening and threaded the ball through more often than not. Jay Jay is great to watch, but you only watch for a step over or a shimmy here and there. Abede Pele was magnificent saxib, Ngonge you can deny that. I will always remeber a goal he scored in the 91 African Cup of nation, he was near the by-line and managed to bend it in using the outside of his foot fooling the defense and the goal keeper. Roger Miller raised the profile of african football during his times at 90 and 94 world cups respectively. That goal he made for a team mate who then dinked the ball over peter shilton in Italia 90 quater final was nice. But who is the best TODAY??? Kolo Toure Drogba Apiah Jay Jay El Haji Diouf etc etc

Liverpool to land Real Madrid out-of-favour striker Morientes
N.O.R.F replied to Keyz 1-8-7's topic in General
^^^You have seen Liverpool this year, we are playing very well, most of the games we lost, we should have won but only due to poor finishing we didnt. I think Mori will provide the finishing we need to get that CL position in the league and beat Bayer Leverkusen in the CL. Go the Reds -
So who voted?

I see nice progress is being made, maybe i should go and get in on the act. The construction process is very slow when it comes to large scale buildings, many of the workers work slow to maximise the time it takes in order to get their 'mushahar'. I dont really blames them. Materials take forever to arrive from the gulf states, but with possible new links between the gulf and Barbera port, this may be reduced. Thinking of going and cornering the market

Like Nas says, who you gone vote for? Satan or Satan? I prefer the greens

Somali's make worthwhile visit Tuesday, 02 July 2002. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A delegation from the Somali Football Federation led by its Senior Vice President, Mohiadin Hassan Ali, and the Somali-UK Sports & Cultural Association visited The F.A. headquarters yesterday to formally receive a donation of football kit. Somalia is one of two countries selected by UEFA and CAF as beneficiaries of special assistance in 2002 under the UEFA-CAF Meridian Project and, in the spirit of co-operation, The Football Association agreed to provide kit in support of the Meridian programme. "We welcomed the visit by representatives of the Somali FF in London yesterday, as well as the opportunity to meet members of the UK-based community which numbers some 80,000", said Head of International Relations, Jane Bateman. "We presented the delegation with a sizeable amount of football kit, under the umbrella of the Meridian Project, which will be of immense value in a country which has been ravaged by war". Football is readily recognised as a force of unity through hardship and Somalia is no stranger to adversity with a history of lawlessness, chaos and uncertainty. According to Mr Bashir, Chairman of the Somali UK Sports & Cultural Association, however, rival rebel groups have been known to put down their guns and play football before resuming hostilities! "The situation in Somalia has ups and downs these days", he said. "The biggest problem for football is establishing it in an organised way. The shortage of resources means that organised recreational activity in schools is lacking". "Most of The F.A.'s work in Africa is co-ordinated through the confederation, CAF", explained Jane Bateman. "We have recently embarked on a series of workshops to which each African nation in CAF is invited, including Somalia. We are also very committed to our partners in the Meridian Project, Botswana, Malawi and Lesotho. Outside of these two initiatives, we offer support and materials where possible, and hope to be in a position to assist Somalia in this way". http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/InternationalRelations/NewsAndFeatures/Postings/2002/07/15110.htm

^^^True we are walking miracles, thats something we take for granted but when an extraordinary event occures such as the what happened in SE Asia, water engulfing whole cities at a speed of over 100mph carrying with it debris (bricks/concrete/wood etc etc) damaging everything in its path except the mosque, thats when you 'really' take notice of right? Look at the mosque again, it is still white mashallah.

let's say your heart stops right now and you died, Allah SWT would have willed for you to die and the Angel of death would have excecuted his command. But that doesn't change the fact that the heart attack killed you (at least that's how humans explain your death). Now, would it not be allah's will for my heart to stop? Allah may will for an artery to get jammed this can also be explained scientificly yes, but NOTHING HAPPENS ON THIS EARTH WITHOUT THE WILL OF ALLAH! there maybe scientific explanations but what is science without Allah who indeed created all creatures great and small? ALLAHU AKBAR
