    FOOTBALL MAD

Roy Keane waa ragedi, lol, Viera was shaken for the whole night, on the pitch and even on the interview afterwards
  5. 187, true, we havnt won the Title for 15 years, but dont detract from the topic. Arsenal are a good team, but not a great one. Take a look at your record against your main rivals, Lost twice to Man Utd, Lost to Liverpool and drew at home to Chelsea. Dont forget that you are 'ze champions' and are supposed to prove your credentials by at least beating one of your rivals  I predicted Arsenal to be over taken by Man Utd for second place, i was right. I predict Man Utd to give Chelsea a run for their money, but Chelsea will win it by 4 points.

  7. BBC Four: I realise that they are all very different, but where do you think these countries are going? SR: All of these countries have sought independence after a war or major conflict and the threat of a future war hangs over them. Taiwan is the most serious for the rest of the world, because if Taiwan and China go to war, it will drag in other countries in the region, and possibly even the United States. I think Somaliland is a likely candidate for international recognition. The government and the people there have done so much to build a functioning country that it does make you wonder how the rest of the world can ignore them. It's a real African success story. Very heart warming indeed!
  8. BBC Four: I enjoyed your encounter with Mr Big Beard in Somalia. SR: Yes, buying a Somali diplomatic passport from Mr Big Beard in a Mogadishu back street market was a fairly weird experience. BBC Four: Mogadishu did seem genuinely hairy. SR: It is a very, very dangerous place. It seems to have been virtually abandoned by the rest of the world precisely because it is so dangerous. That just condemns the people who live there to almost perpetual suffering. It actually made me think of Afghanistan in terms of how the rest of the world was involved there at one point. There was foreign involvement in both Afghanistan and Somalia in the 1980s and then in the early 90s the international community pulled out of both countries. It was still pretty bad when the rest of the world was in Somalia, but then they pulled out and the inhabitants have been left to suffer on their own ever since. I think there is the potential for similar problems to those in Afghanistan if the rest of the world doesn't get involved properly in Somalia.
  9. BBC Four: Did you have a favourite? SR: The whole thing was a great adventure frankly and a chance to go to places that very few people get to visit, and to show people countries they've never even heard of. Somaliland was perhaps the highlight because it was incredible to see what the people had achieved with virtually nothing. That was a very moving experience and the people were quite inspirational. They rebuilt their country after a devastating civil war with very little help from the outside world, but with sheer hard work and a belief in their own national identity they've been able to build a functioning state. Speaking on a personal level I find it very sad that their Tribal elders in Somaliland requests for international recognition fall on deaf ears. This is a country which has virtually no foreign debt. Now that's rare in Africa and it's primarily because they aren't recognised so the IMF won't give them loans. It also means that there's not a lot of money sloshing around in the government coffers so there's not much corruption. We met the president of Somaliland, which was quite interesting. He made the point that he runs the country on just a few million pounds a year. It seems incredible to us that they can do such things, but everybody accepts that they've got less money.
  10. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/documentaries/features/places-that-dont-exist.shtml Interview: Simon Reeve BBC Four: Was there one country that was the starting point for thinking about these "places that don't exist"? Simon Reeve: Yes. A friend of mine mentioned that he was doing business with some Somalilanders. I said, "Somaliland? Where's that?" He said it was a country in the north of Somalia and to my shame I didn't know anything about it. I found out that it's a functioning state within Somalia. It seemed extraordinary to me that there is no real government in Somalia but the world recognises it as a country, and then there's Somaliland which has elections and a functioning democracy, but the world doesn't recognise it as a proper country. It just seemed a very strange situation. hmmmm,,,,,,,,

  16. I'm not into beating up old folk but, Sangub would be sanjab if i saw him. Sounds like the old man is losing it, i would recommend Belveue plus anyone who supports/condones/ his behaviour. Today is officially FCUK Sangub day! brushes his shoulder off
  17. just like the way they call Banks' save against Pele the greatest save ever made by a goalkeeper. Now that was a save and a half, unorthodox but it worked, the power Pele got on the header was awesome when u consider the height he jumped. To me that is the best save ever!

  20. ^^your right there is a bigger rivalry between Lpool and Man Utd. But since Man Utd have 8 league titles in 11 years, 3 FA Cups ( ithink) and the CL I have respect for their footballing capabilities. You sound just like the average Arsenal supporter, not knowing much about footy. You are very one dimensional and cant play a physical game. plus i prefer Man Utd to Arsenal, it a northern thing, you wouldnt understand, it works both ways. Bolton beat Spurs, Lpool beat Charlton, Only Portsmouth beat Boro (which is what i wanted neway)! The game was won in midfield, scholes/Kean/giggs/Ronaldo vs Viera/Flamini/Pirez/Lunberg. One set of midfielders won the CL, the other has never been past the 1/4 final stage! Dont hate me for giving it to you how it is, even if i'm a scouser. One dimensional teams dont win titles back to back. oh yeah, did u see how Man Utd kept the ball for 30 mins with 10 men?
  21. I've been looking into this for over a year now, some of my muslim freinds have already bought properties and currently renting it out to students. The property game is very enticing, i have managed to focus my efforts on finding the right deal, still looking.
  22. Racism is in every where in Europe. Black People need to realise this and move on. True, but what happened in Spain was appalling. The FA themselves are the biggest racist of all times. What happened to that ''the Great English players of all time DVD'' that did not feature one black player. Was that not racism. Cmon now, was Barnes not good enough. So was a great black player for England? I can only think of John Barnes scoring that goal against brazil, but he wasnt a regular in the team anyway. BOB: where I come from by the way it is Kismayo (the Brazilian of Somalia) lol,
  23. ^^yeah very cockey. arsenal fans will finally understand how their team is bunch of 'big game' flops, yet again they buckled under pressure. Watching the game, even when Man Utd fell behind twice, i knew they would come back because of the players they have, Rooney, Ronaldo, scholes, giggs, keane, hienze while arsenal had to rely on Lunberg, Pirez, Henry, Bergkamp, Viera, cole to do something against 10 men. Arsenal are one dimensional, they dont have a plan B! The Man Utd midfield won the 1999 CL, coming from 2 goals down at the Stadio Del Alpi in the semi final second leg against the mighty Juve. Now that is the standard Man Utd are setting. On this form i fancy them against AC Milan. If your wondering why i'm biggin this team up, even though i hate to admit it, but they have been the best team for a long time.
