  1. Northerner ain't o need to call us bloody swahilis...would you like to be called bloody arab?? It was a joke aimed at those sawahilis who know i'm joking
  2. ^^did i mention anything about Ethiopia? The port is a good move for Somaliland in more ways than one. The shipment of future good will now be easier, it call also be a storage port for shipments on there way to Europe, Africa and the Far East. You have ports in Jeddah, Salaala, Muscat and Dubai who are all expanding and raising there tarrifs. Somalialand will hopefully see this and capitalise on it with lower rates for storage and movement. I hope to one day export from Berbera. We all know the Somalia/Ethiopia issue(s) therefore no need to elaborate. Try taking the economist view rather than the political.
  3. LST How will this new venture be certified? Ie what is the general process of moderation? I sujest all audio files be available to yourself or the MOD's for scrutiny before they are aired. Also, a waiting list of recodings on a first come first served basis should be organisaed. Like 1 or 2 recordings a day/week etc but with other recodings waiting in line to be aired. This shall reduce a)any silly stuff being recorded and b) the upkeep of the sight-will the recordings affect the availability of the site in anyway, will my computer take a larger memeory eveytime i log on? do i need download a software? Its a good idea but there needs to be careful consideration to the above issues.
  4. People will always take Somalia as being 'home' but will also call wherever they grew uo 'home'. There is nothing wrong with that. Bringing polital issues into is a little over the top. I call Somalia home but also call Saudi Arabia and the UK 'home' ie birth place and most of life place  Infact there is no need to call Somalia home as we are all aware of our 'identity' we use/convey everyday. One should be more concerned with those who are 'not' Somali with actions rather than simply where they prefer to call home.
  5. 66u mean the Brazilian guy who couldnt make the Brazil team? Japan's coach is no other than Zico, one of the best players to never win a World Cup. Well if Poland can boast a black guy in there team then why not the Aussies? Our boy Rocko should go for trials but i doubt he can kick a ball, hes a batsman rather than a striker but he could be handy in goal i suppose
  6. Good to see the port up and running, imports and export shall now increase creating job for the locals.
  7. lol@ Joe Mangel Good luck to the aussies i hope they do well, they have a good coach and a good squad, if Harry Kewell and Tim Cahill play well u may surprise a few people. Soma Inc. stop hating man, let them enjoy the moment, its the world cup, cant wait for the draw on 9th December
  8. Keane: "It has been a great honour and privilege for me to play for Manchester United for over 12 years. "During my time at the club I have been fortunate to play alongside some of the best players in the game and in front of the best supporters in the world. "At all times I have endeavoured to do my best for the management and the team. "Whilst it is a sad day for me to leave such a great club and manager I believe that the time has now come for me to move on. After so many years, I will miss everyone at the club. "I send my best wishes for the future to the management, players, staff and supporters of the club." Fergie: "Roy Keane has been a fantastic servant for Manchester United. "The best midfield player in the world of his generation, he is already one of the great figures in our club's illustrious history. "Roy has been central to the success of the club in the last 12-and-a-half years and everyone at Old Trafford wishes him well in the rest of his career and beyond." I have just heard the news, a sad day for football, a great player and an ever better captain. Roy Keane was Man Utd. One game stands out to me, when Utd were 2-nil down vs Juventus in the CL semi in 1999. This guy just lifted the team and Utd won 3-2. Those battles with Viera, that tackle on Alfe Inge Halland, i think he got a huge fine for what he wrote in his autobiography about that, his last game was at Anfield were he broke his foot
  9. Bang out of order indeed but hes looking for American 'soccer' players not footballers. We won the tourny in Canada in 2004 and another team from London won it this year. I think the semis consisted of 4 teams from the UK My footy days are coming to an end, keep picking up injuries from just walking  . I think i've broken a metatarsal in my right foot, its painful and it got worse when Owen scored the winner against the Argies last week
  10. The next round of games will have a huge influence on how the season ends. If i lose to WinningEleven and the Soldiers march on then my season will probably be over. NGONGE, Waxaro beat you?
  11. Congrats to the Aussie who will be a team to watch. Harry Kewell will be man! Go soccerooos waiting on Bahrain vs Trinidad and Tobago come on Bahrain
  12. Did anyone ever watch Le Haine (1995)? French rappers' prophecies come true "What is it, what is it you're waiting for to start the fire? / The years go by, but everything is still the same / Which makes me ask, how much longer can it last?" The words are from the 1995 song They Don't Understand, by one of France's best-known rap singers, Joey Starr of the group NTM. He was far from alone in providing a grim prophecy of the events of the last three weeks. Take these lines from the song In Front Of The Police, by the group 113: "There had better not be a police blunder, or the town will go up / The city's a time-bomb / From the police chief to the guy on the street - they're all hated." Or this from Don't Try To Understand, by Fonky Family: "The state is screwing us / Well you know, we are going to defend ourselves / Don't try to understand." Or this - uncannily accurate - from Alpha 5.20: "Clichy-sous-Bois, it's gangsta gangsta / And Aulnay-sous-Bois, it's gangsta gangsta." Ghetto culture The violence began on 27 October after the accidental deaths of two teenagers - in Clichy-sous-Bois. Rap and hip-hop have been part of France's immigrant youth scene for so long that many of the original artists - like Joey Starr, MC Solaar and the group IAM - are now regarded as respected old-timers. The new stars are men and women in their 20s - almost all of black African or Arab origin - such as Disiz La Peste, Diam's, Monsieur R, and the groups La Rumeur and Sniper. Like the pioneers who featured 10 years ago in the hit film La Haine, their work continues to cast a revealing light on life in the cités and the conditions which helped provoked the sudden outpouring of violence three weeks ago. Song after song dwells on the same themes of hopelessness, rejection by France, police harassment and the rage that follows. Disiz La Peste, a 27-year-old of mixed Senegalese and French parentage whose real name is Serigne M'Baye, has just released his third album, entitled The Extraordinary Stories Of A Youth In The Banlieue. The chorus of the title song goes: "For France it matters nothing what I do / In its mind I will always be / Just a youth from the banlieue". "Few people in France have a normal attitude towards us. People are either fascinated or they are frightened. There are two worlds crashing against each other. People have a problem with us, and we do with them," he said in a recent interview. Shock factor It is undeniable that some of the lyrics of French rap songs - as in America - are shocking to the conservative-minded. In Brigitte - Cop's Wife, Ministere A.M.E.R indulges in a pornographic fantasy which will not be to most tastes. Other groups including Sniper and La Rumeur have been taken to court - unsuccessfully - for provocative lyrics. And the rapper Monsieur R - whose real name is Richard Makela - was criticised for a recent song called FranSSe, in which he described France as a "chick ... treat her like a whore!" But most French rap songs show a deep urge to articulate what would otherwise go unexpressed in words, and - whatever your feelings about the genre - many do so with invention. The French language, with its repeated end of word inflections, is widely recognised as lending itself to rap, and even masters of the form in the US have been complimentary. Today many French rappers are saying that if only their words had been listened to, the suburban violence might never have occurred. "Instead of sleeping in the national assembly, government ministers should have listened to our albums. It's the youth of France talking," said Rim-K of 113. Plea for calm Some, such as Disiz La Peste, have called openly for an end to the rioting. "Burning cars and schools - it only harms ourselves because it's happening in front of our own homes," he said. "And we risk turning the working people, the poor of our neighbourhoods against us - because not unnaturally they are going to be afraid," La Peste said. Maybe because of his mixed background, he takes an unusually balanced view of the trouble and of how to end it. "First of all France must learn to say sorry - for history, for the colonies, because there is no equality of opportunity, because we can't get into nightclubs, because there are none of us on television or in the national assembly. "But the youth must also learn to say thank you. It may be shocking for them - but in France at least people can still demonstrate and speak out," said La Peste http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4440422.stm
  13. rocko, thats PHAT! I dont deserve it but i can drive like Shumacher, get me on a B road
  14. ^^looool (shakes head) Your contracts should read something along the lines of: The husband should not re-marry if still in his first marriage. But then the man should insert a small print which reads: Subject to Husband's wish in increasing the numbers in his tribe
  15. NGOINGE Your 2 year service is now due, please report back to Burco the author is obviously trying to portray Itahad being some sort of evil force that has gained strength. But were the original aims and objectives of the group?
  16. Are you forgetting that I beat you 4-0 straight after that game, Huh?? Huh? I had an injuty and a suspension and didnt get the chance to change my squad. You beat a 9 man team 4-0 saxib. Soma, we a game near the end of the season i think, this shall be crucial. In the mean time my next game is vs Winning Eleven, Liverpool vs Man Utd, since they cant win it please field a weakened team. Who do you want to win it? an arsenal fan or a pool fan? Sort it out, u still owe me a ticket to a game
  17. "We don't mind them singing before the game - as long as they're not singing after it" England captain David Beckham responds to claims of Argentina singing homophobic songs about their opponents before the match. "Three in one game? That's good for me - it's usually four or five" England's Steven Gerrard on the number of positional changes he had against Argentina. "It means Bell is going to have to play in not the best of form - he was bowled by Dr Peter Gregory in the nets the other day" Former England seamer Angus Fraser's mickey-taking does the trick for Ian Bell, who recovers from being bowled by the team doctor to score 71 against Pakistan. "Brooklyn's probably better than me at Spanish" Becks vows to brush up on his Language skills. "I was like a swan - all serene at the top but paddling like hell underneath" Britain's David Howell on holding his nerve to beat Tiger Woods and win the Champions tournament in Shanghai. "This just proves we're not a bunch of old farts" Nigel Mansell after winning the inaugural Grand Prix Masters race ahead of Emerson Fittipaldi. "It proves that motor racing does not have to be costly and you can still put on a far better show. I won't get my Christmas card from Bernie Ecclestone for saying that" Mansell again. "The manager must have got out of bed, felt like Muhammad Ali and decided to get us all doing it. He ended up getting in a toy fight with Darren Potter though - and lost! So I don't think he'll be doing it again" Liverpool captain Gerrard tells of a shadow boxing session with manager Rafa Benitez in training. Everyone else wants to know exactly what a "toy fight" is. "They are joint top of the league and, if they stay there, the Hearts fans won't care if Rix and the new director of football are Martians, Lithuanians or English" Eamonn Bannon on the controversial appointment of Graham Rix as manager of Hearts. "The players are not allowed to shoot from outside the area -that's because they miss most of the time. I am glad he ignored me on that one" Bolton boss Sam Allardyce after Kevin Nolan's spectacular winner against Spurs. "My ceiling's broken, my car's got a puncture and we've just lost two matches. But I've got my health and I'll ask the big man upstairs why he didn't give us a point" QPR manager Ian Holloway reflects on the 2-1 defeat by Reading. "Offhand I don't know any Scottish players or teams and Hampden Park doesn't mean a whole lot to me" USA striker Josh Wolff is distinctly underwhelmed about the prospect of playing Scotland. "The fact that he's a fellow redhead only made my decision easier. I've been saying for years that we don't have enough of the mutant gene in MLS" New York/New Jersey Metrostars general manager Alexei Lalas on the decision to give Mo Johnston the manager's job on a permanent basis. "I was playing for Vale against Wrexham and their Trinidad defender Dennis Lawrence came over to me during a break in play. He's 6ft 7in and I was thinking 'What's going on here?!'. But he just asked me calmly: "I hear you've got some 'Trini' blood in you?" Port Vale winger Chris Birchall - Trinidad's first white player in 60 years - reveals how his international career began. Birchall got off to the perfect start with a spectacular equaliser against Bahrain.

  19. I don't think a person should be judged for how they dress Well thats the way its always been and the way it always will be, the question should be why should one 'not' be judged on the way they dress? A guy wearing low pants with a hoodie wil automatically be judged the same way as a girl showing her curves. Now they will be judged differently to a bearded brother with a khamiis on and 'hijabi' sister covering her 'modesty'. Thats just the way it is among all muslims and not just Somalis. When around other Somalis it is always good to speak 'somali' out respect for them, your country and your culture. Its also good practice and gives you the opportunity to gauge just how good or bad the other person' somali is,,,,,
  20. The illussions of saving ones country and bringing it back from the brink is a false one in the first place. This is realised later on in life. Now who in the right mind would pack up and go home with his/her family with the aim of transforming Somalia into a 'better' country than it is now. However, one needs to realise that small objective rather than 'grand designs' are very much possible. Example being visiting ones home city/village on a fact finding mission of possible schemes that can be arranged for the local people. You can easily sponsor a school or hospital through a charity based in which ver country you reside in. Organisation skills will come into play. Therefore, i conclude that smaller measures are possible but i doubt the majority will even be able to establish such chairty let alone finance a school for a lick of paint, some chairs and tables or books. So you see if we all did this then the grand design can become a reality.
  21. There is nothing 'shirky' about saying/believing Allah is helping my team. I believe Allah helps me when I write exams. In fact angels whisper into my ear and say, "the answer is A not C you ***** !" Or it is just my imagination. lol, muliple choice questions can not be called exams, in my days an answer was nothing short of a 6 page essay socod-badnoy sii soco
  22. ^^i'm fine saxib, hope all is weell in Brixton I did not saw i believe we will win it again, i simply said whoever get through to the quater finals can consider themselves having a chance. So long as Chelsea and Milan do not win then i will be happy. I think it will be between Juve/Barca/Chelsea/ and Bayern Munich with the dark horses being Arsenal (who are looking good in europe). But i still believe in the mighty mighty reds.
  23. ^^it all depends on the draw saxib, last year we got Bayer Leverkusen just at the right time and after a great victory vs Olympiakos. We smashed them, then the Juve brought out the passion we needed tomake us belive, we smashed them. Then onto Chelsea who looked shaken by our passionate fans. We smashed them. The rest is history. So whoever gets a decent draw in the next will have a chance of going all the way. Once one get past the 2nd round then the belief will be there. I fancy another year of shocks, since the format has been changed for the CL the advantage has been given to the 'lesser' teams. The eradication of a second league before the actual second round leaves many stronger teams on a liability
  24. I'm rooting for England, it must be the hooligan in me What a game the other night vs Argentina, with a few alterations ie playing Gerrard in the Middle with Carrick or Jenas instead of Lampard who shows just how much he relies on Makalele at Chelsea. Sol Campbell with Rio at the back. Terry is good back up. goes to buy a Burberry cap
