  5. The majority of Muslim dont know the Islamic calender and that the reason why. The grogorian calender is followed world wide. Obviously living in non-muslim countries makes things difficult and with the never ending busy periods its near enough impossible to follow unless its on a notice board at home. How can we ever expect our children to be decent muslims, when they don't know their Islamic History and when it is not celeberated and brought to life? Thats why its down to us,,,

  11. Masjid al aqsa in Jeruselum was where we faced (qibla) prior to Makka. Yes today makka is the capital of Islam.
  12. So why is this a joke guys? It looks like a decent proposition to me. Recently saw an ad for my job in Iraq. GBP 100,000 per annum tax free with a full expat package (kids schools, housing, security and car). Would it be viewed as aiding the enemy? Or aiding the peace process? If only my arabic was better
  13. Due to the SOL upgrade a resul has been posponed until firday 3pm Makka time. Those who havnt voted should submit their votes,,,, Northerner 0%? I'm offended
  14. Yes the level of paranio is very high, yes people are very jittery, yes we are looked at with suspicion but have you seen the queues at Heathrow on a Friday night? Racial profiling is not an injustic, it is a requirement. Bring it on!
  15. ^^What if the kid went back with his parents who happen to forget him there? Much ado about nothing saxib. The security dept needed some good PR.
  16. If you look the religious figures from most countries, you'll find a consistant pattern. Most people of faith follow the faith of their parents. THis seams to be true for Muslims as well. Alxamdullilah saxib, alxamdullilah! Just this past friday an Indian made his shahada in the masjid i was at masha allah. Statistics revealed in a website (i will find it) revealed that most reverts here are of western (white) origin with Filipino and Chinese behind. Indians are a stubborn bunch, you notice just from talking to them.
  17. Islam is universal religion that’s compatible and applicable in at all times. This is linguistic redundancy that says absolutely nothing. As the saying goes, "proof of the pudding is in the eating!" Should you not be stating where this is not the case first?

  21. Another mother baby article Pregnant rape victim fears arrest after delivery By Nina Muslim, Staff Reporter Dubai: A receptionist who got pregnant after allegedly being raped by her employer, fears her delivery date as she may get arrested over illicit relationship charges or her baby taken away. "Fatima", who requested anonymity by giving a fake name, told Gulf News that she has not made any arrangements to deliver even though she was likely due in October. She does not know her due date as she has never seen a doctor about her pregnancy, partly due to her fears. "Because I don't have a husband or a marriage certificate, the hospital may call the police," she said. "I'm scared right now. I don't know if they will take the child or send me to prison." Currently staying at a women's shelter in Dubai, she said she did not bear her unborn child any ill will, despite the way it was conceived, saying that he or she was innocent. UAE laws prohibit sexual relations outside of marriage, or illicit relationships. Unmarried pregnant foreign women usually serve a short sentence in prison before being deported along with their children. Rape victims are exempt from these laws as long as they have official documents testifying to the fact. Fatima said she has approached the police two weeks ago for a letter that would guarantee her safe passage at the hospital. However, the letter the police gave her last week did not alleviate her worries as she said it was ambiguous. "It does not say I should not be arrested," she said. An official with the Dubai Police Department of Human Rights told Gulf News that Fatima needed to apply for another letter that would explain that her pregnancy was the outcome of an alleged crime. He added that the letter should also say that nobody should give her problems about her delivery. "If she goes to the hospital with the letter, she will not get arrested. Nobody should arrest her or take the baby if she has it," he said. He also said that her alleged rapist has been arrested and that the case has gone to the Public Prosecution Office. The usual source
  22. For the first time in many a year, i'm actually aware of this forcoming day. A day off was anounced via email last week, i didnt know a day off was taken but hey i'm not complaining. A good time to be reminded of this great night. An article i found Isra (The Journey) and Miraj (The Ascension) 10/12/2001 - Religious - Article Ref: IC0110-352 Number of comments: 16 By: IslamiCity IslamiCity* - Glory to (Allah) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless - in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who hears and sees (all things). (17:1) Following the year of sorrow, Prophet Muhammad was blessed with the experience of Isra (the Night Journey) and Miraj (the Ascension). A journey that has no parallel in human history, begins from the Kaba in the city of Makkah to Masjid al-Aqsa in the city of Jerusalem, and concluding beyond the horizons of human comprehension in the heavens. Prophetic acts are not simple miracles as we may understand today but they are clear Signs from the Majestic Creator. We are made to witness such Prophetic experiences as a trial and test of our faith in our absolute servitude to Allah and our unquestionable loyalty in the following of His Prophets. To believe in them and their mission is to believe in the All Encompassing Creator. We testify that "we make no distinction between one and another of His Messengers" (2:285). From Ibrahim to Muhammad and everyone in between, they are, but Allah's Messengers with a clear Message and a defined Mission to establish Divine Law, Supreme and Sovereign over all other man-made laws. And that is for the good of all humanity. Among many other lessons that the event of Isra and Miraj offers, some are the gift of daily prayers, the transfer of leadership from the Children of Israel to the Children of Ismail, and the Centrality of Jerusalem in the history of Islam. Prophet Muhammad received the command for 5 daily prayers on this blessed night. This daily ritual is an expression of epitomic proportions challenging the earthly beings to unquestionably submit and surrender oneself to the One and Only Creator. In his ascension beyond the domain of earthly space and time, he met Abraham (Ibrahim), Moses (Musa), Jesus (Isa) and others (peace and blessings of Allah be upon all of them) and led them in prayers at al-Aqsa and then in the heavens. The concept of per chance does not fit the workings of the Creator. Everything He does is for a purpose. Prophet's revisit to Jerusalem since the changing of the Qibla is for no other purpose but to re-emphasize the centrality of Jerusalem, as the first and eternal Capital of Islam. Each year, we relive the memory of Isra (Night Journey) and Miraj (Ascension) - from Makkah to Jerusalem and then to the heights of heavens. Fourteen centuries has helped more than one billion people recognize and accept the Truth and accept the Prophetic leadership and his contributions to the humanity. Since past few decades, there seems to be confusion on the Centrality of Jerusalem. This must be cleared. Muslims must remember their responsibilities. The restoration of Jerusalem as the eternal Capital of Islam and establishing peace and justice for the people therein is imperative. There are myriad tools available today for this pursuit. Chief among them is "will". The biggest impact that the medium of Internet has had in today's modern world is the elimination of distance. Muslims must adapt to such modern tools of today with great speed. This medium must be harnessed to educate and to recognize the differences between myths and realities.
  23. Fair point Openable sky lights and solar panels will make it a free living experience. In the meantime, i propose this for the displaced masses
