Jaamac –Since you claim to you‘have read the book and have contacts with the author, can you share some of the evidence used in support of the passage quoted below – try to avoid injecting your own unsubstantiated ‘waxaa la yiri’ and the usual unreliable Somali historic revisions.

Just quote the evidence used in the book, surely, you want give SL school children the clear evidence to back up these alleged allegations:

...haween uur leh iyo caruur-ba inuu xasuuqi jiray.....32 dumar ah uu ina Cabdalla Xasan qabi jiray
.

Qabiil has poisoned certain people so much so that even the dead are not safe from their venom. An ***** after a mirqaan session decides take on a dead shaikh for some tribal ps from a hundred years ago. Any breathing Somali person who in this day and age would fall for some English colonizers propaganda needs to check him or herself into a mental asylum ASAP. As for the rest of you, the Sayid is dead, it does not matter what you think of him, move on with your life's and guard yourself against this poison called clannisn that has become so fashionable among northerners as of late.

Let the D-block boys and their daddies worship the fat coward that run all the way to imiey and died in a foxhole. The important thing is that the people of Somaliland realized what this charachter in actuality was, Guri-Barwaaqo isn`t trying to convince the D- clan of anything new these people will worship him regardless to them its all about tribal loyalty. So the book of Guri-Barwaaqo isn`t for that particular clan , the book is for all non-D somalis who were been fed crap by the old regim.

This book will be taught in Somaliland schools , kids in somaliland will compare the old `facts`taught in old Somali republic and the new book and argument of Guri-Barwaqo. What the author collected and analysed are the Mullah`s vulgar poems and how the D-clan during their rule of Somali republic `sexied-up`the Mullah`s career of murder and and looting .

Maadeeys,

Ironically where as the so called `Sayid`of yours son was pro-Ethopian and sided with ethopia during the struggle for great somalia , the grand son of Sheekh Awees Al-Barawaani namely Abdulqadir Saqawdiin Shaikh Aweys one among the founders and the first president of the SYL. In my opinion the father of southern Somalia should have been that grandson of Awees , who died in 1947, not the fat gluttonous libertine.

The man who liberated you and you should celebrate is Sheekh Awees al-Barawaani and his decendant , not the camel theifs known as the Maxamed Cabdulle Xasan. But then what a branwashed little kids know.

Well said, historical correct revisionism as its best!

Someone should write that book (and the one A&T is talking about too). :D

As for the topic here, I actually applaud the man for writing such a book and starting a historical debate here. From the little information someone posted in here, it seems that the author is basing his conclusions on the disparging poems of the Sayid and some of his faults.

Of course, one must critique the book along two lines; one: are the poems authentic and are the accusations real? Two: when the sum total of the Sayid's actions & history are put in a scale of "good" and "bad", which of the two weighs the most?

Absolutely nothing here to get excited about in this book, at least from the review summary provided. This can't be the result of 15 years of painstaking, duedilgence 'Baaritaan badan' that reveals wealth of historical evidence, these are eerily familiar fancy clan grievances scribbled down in the middle of Khat sessions that formed the basis of this book.

Preach!
