^^^Exercise my a$$. My hams and quads have got to be the envy of most. I stand and walk continuously for eight to ten hours a day. My job is my exercise. Damn patients and their need for great & speedy service. Insomnia is my greatest friend. I do my best writing when I am a zombie. One of these days I will concoct a drug to induce ecstasy due to wakefulness. What do ya think.......is there a market for such a product? Get your work done with bliss instead of irritating restlessness.

SeeKer,

You have access to drugs! Some years ago, I tried Dixyrazine (Esucos) and it made a difficult day much esier (no side-effects and not addictive). You also have the "uppers" for the most diffiult days :D

PS: Am not recommending drugs to you but just reminding you of the options you have

Viks Have i told ya I missed ya. I can't take drugs. I'm like a cigarette CEO who doesn't smoke a pack. Its a no no. For some reason I believe the body is equipped to deal with a lot of the issues we seem to have. We just have to become intuned with it. Plus, have you noticed the amount of recalls going on in the past couple years. Drugs don't have the same standards as in the olden days. :(

Femme lol I tried that and I ended up finishing my readings and still wide awake. I read one Juzzu and was still awake. Finally I just got myself out of my room and got some cereal and coffee. I was nodding off in bio seminar this afternoon but I am not sure I will be staring at that bed tonite with Tahajud and all. More caffine when iftar comes along.

NGONGE

I thought I’d ask this question here. Have you noticed that there aren’t many hot topics on this site lately, people? Have we exhausted them all or are we just being lazy? The politics seems to have taken over!

Ps

Happy Eid to you all by the way!

Ah! I almost forgot. Yesterday, I prayed Eid in an Urdu-speaking mosque. I understood nothing of what the Imam was saying and was (for a split second) reluctant to repeat the word ‘ameen’ after him when he started the Du’a. It’s the first time I’ve ever come across such an experience. Have any of you done this before? Keesa tomara urdu, bi kol achhchha yaa bohod khofnaak hee? Mere urdu aadmee urdu nahi, mere urdu, shakilhi, murghi margeya bolee..... samajna?

pps

Watch all the oily hair Nomads come out to correct me now. :D

NGONGE, the ICU is the best story that came out of Somalia in sixteen years. ICU is hot. :D People love hot topics. Have you noticed people who never paid attention to politics are making comments there now.

To simply put it, ICU = Islam + Politics + Camel Milk Debate. It is one of the few hot stories that can create multiple interests.

But expect this craze to die down as the tradition goes here. There is something hot every couple of months. For now, many nomads are interested in the ICU story and the best forum to get that story is the Politics forum. It was also Ramadan. Nomads just take it easy.

Ciid Mubaarak. :D

STOIC

For the first time in my entire life of living in Atlanta I had to make a decision on which mosque to pray .I personally never cared in which mosque I prayed in. As the social and cultural impacts of modernization are breaking up the traditional modes of loyalty within our community a new mode of mosque and sect loyalty has emerged within my city. I have lately witnessed a new form of non-pursuit of communal unity within my people. The Somali community in my city had two mosques which were predominately dominated by the Somalis. Apparently over the few days preceding the Ramathan there was a split within the Salafi mosque Due to mismanagement and even some claims to clan divisions. I mostly used to pray within the Salafi mosque (close to home), but now one had to make a decision whether to go with the group that was leaving or stay and make my prayers where I used to make always. I was dishearten to notice that a community so small and poor compared to the Pakistanis Muslims would dissolve through sect and clan division. I must admit that most of these people have good intentions and are driven by vigor and vibrant ideas of Islamic teaching within the community , but I am afraid to say division will destroy the community.

PS: I had a great Eid.I visited the World's Largest Aquarium. There were many Muslims too enjoying the sharks and the Whales.I was about to tell the Guards who were stiring at the Hijabis that we as Muslims do have a zeal for Conservation too... :D

I come to SOL today expecting something... but got nothing. At every turn and corner - graduation in hargeysa, eid party in hackey, etc, there is a celebratory thread but none of it is dedicated to me!

Is my birth not worth celebrating?
