I see only oil as curse. That is at least what the all the evidence shows. Look at the all the developed nations of the world and alot of them are very rich in natural resources. Examples: Russia, china, Britian, US, Canada...Only Italy is the exception among the G8. The countries that have most of the world's oil are least developed. If the oil age came to the an end tomorrow, the Mideast would be plunged into economic depression and poverty becuz they have very little exports other than oil.

I completely agree with ONGONGE. And I'm somewhat troubled by the half-hearted condemnations and excuses for the barbaric acts that took place in London today. What happened in London today was cold-blooded killing of civilians. I'm getting tired of seeing MY religion being hijacked by punch of thugs. Who are they fighting for? You? What are they fighting for? They're not fighting for me, that is for sure. And as ONGONGE said conventional means of waging wars, although objectionable on moral grounds, at least are well known to everyone. You don't attack civilians. You attack the other side with objective of reducing, weakening their war-fighting capability. But wars aren't always waged conventionally, there is unconventional/assymmetrical warfare. In asymmetrical warfare, one opponent attacks the 'soft targets' like power supplies, fuel and othe supplies depots, communications lines, cyber attacks and so on and so forth. But what these thugs have done today is nothing but wanton killings of civilians. Their objective was not to weaken Britian in any way but to kill ppl. They are my enemies and that of every Brit. Islam and democracy are not compatible. In democracy state and religion are separate but its the opposite in Islam. Islam is whole way of life, both political and relgious. The question is: is Islam flexible enough to coexist with democracy? Democracy is not flexible, not in my opinion. Certain principles of democracy cant be changed/altered. Otherwise, democracy will no longer be. Democracy requires strict adherence to the rule of law, a constitution and checks and balances of power. The lack of any of these will mean democracy is no longer. You'll have semi-democratic state or other forms of governance. Islamic countries are failures, not all but alot. In living standards, politics, culture, science and technology, and in many other fields, muslims are behind the rest of the world. I dont put the entire blame on Islam because there are other factors. But the fact that there isn't single successful Islamic country, that is run according to Islam, speaks for its self. I always here from muslims that problems facing muslim nations is because they aren't run according to 'true' Islam. I ask why is that? To me this sounds like what the communists used to say during the decline of the U.S.S.R.. Communisim apologists used attribute the Soviet decline to not governing by 'real' communism. And if the Soviet union reverted to 'real' communism, all problems will fix themselves. To me the fact that there isnt a succesfull Islamic nation means that the supposed 'real' Islam country that will solve all current problems, doesnt exist. It will never be realised. Having lived under both Sharia law run country and in a true democracy, I know which is better. Democracy is best form of governance out of what is available. Until better system of governance emerges, its the only system I prefer to live under. In democracy I can practice my religion as I like, have freedom of speach and political association and live my life the way I like. That cant be said in Sharia Law run countries. I find some of the Sharia Laws objectionable as a muslim. I know many of the Sharia laws are from the quran, and the word of allah, but I think it should be reintrepreted by learned modern muslims. Some of the Sharia Laws should be discarded as they are outdated and not useful in modern times. I dont see why it cant be done and why it hasnt already been done.

But only Robben and Lampard can be considered the very best in the world, can be compared to Ronaldinho, schevchenko and ronaldo. Others are very close but not exactly that good.

America mainly to limit the influence of the soviets. Now that the cold war is over, Islam is rightly or wrongly in the eyes of the americans their enemy. So muslims will be in the line of fire. In few years time, hopefully, China will be the US's next enemy (thats the real reason the US is building the STAR WARS based missile defense system) and muslim world will be forgoten by americans.

But if go back to history when classification of human race was instituted, it was around the time when westerners were trying to understand all the ppl in the world. So they came up with these terms to refer to different ppl. The rational behind was to see whites position among different races. To them it made perfect sense to say there is asian, negro and white races only. But lets say that it was somalis in whites position, wud they have said there are only three races. I doubt it. More so since there is no evidence to support white, asian and negro only theory. Of course I have no qualification, just university student studying science and that is what I think.
