  2. Lol Ameenah- aint that the truth? It works really well when the brotha has it going on otherwise we'll think its cheesy. We're horrible that way..

  5. I gotta say that I agree with most of my females here- I lof flirty guys. It can make not-so-great looking fellas come off as more appealing. And not the typical flirty-lines, but the more subtle methods of flirting. Very appealing fellas .
  6. Somebody already beat me to "Malikah" lol. I suggest "Sumaya, Nuura, Khadijah, Amal". I'll be back as soon as I think of more.
  7. I honestly would love to be able to raise (or rear, Opinionated lol) my children the way my mother did in many ways. But at the same time you have to understand that we're not exactly our parents so we wont necessary do everything alike. We have our differences that will be reflected in the way we will end up raising our children. There are some things I would do, or wouldn't do, that my mother didn't. We also live in a different environment that demands certain things that our parents didn't give us. Example, issues that our parents couldnt talk to us about, we'll have to bring up wit our kids. Most of us would love to be our parents when we become parents, i think we can come close but neva exactly be.
  8. Underdog- I'm glad to see that you categorize what you believe as merely "preference", whereas many other males would love to impose their religious beliefs to justify their way of thinking. This article touched on alot of issues that are facing married couples outside of Somalia. I found it quite interesting that they said 74% of married men realize that divorce was caused by their lack of adjusting to their environment, or to quote, the fact that "women were adjusting". In a society that demands shared responsibility when it comes to household and income, men have abandoned their children and wives causing the women to become independent. They didn't ask for it- but it was a result of our men running off. Instead of being proud of our women for suckin' it up and doing what they had to- we critize them for their "feminist" views. How funny people are.
  9. Ok..despite everyone else's idea that you can spot a cheater- thats not always the case. There have been people who have been married for years and would never figure their partner was cheating, but OH! they, in fact, were. So I'm just saying, that person whose been cheated on may not be gullible or a fool, but the cheater might just be too clever or been playin the game so long they've perfected it . Lol. Thats jus the way lifes goes folks.

  20. Psychologists have discovered that the manner in which people eat Oreo cookies provides great insight into their personalities. Choose which method best describes your favorite method of eating Oreos: 1. The whole thing all at once. 2. One bite at a time 3. Slow and methodical nibbles examining the results of each bite afterwards. 4. In little feverous nibbles. 5. Dunked in some liquid (milk, coffee...). 6. Twisted apart, the inside, then the cookie. 7. Twisted apart, the inside, and toss the cookie. 8. Just the cookie, not the inside. 9. I just like to lick them, not eat them. 10. I don't have a favorite way because I don't like Oreo. Your Personality: 1. The whole thing This means you consume life with abandon, you are fun to be with, exciting, carefree with some hint of recklessness. You are totally irresponsible. No one should trust you with their children. 2. One bite at a time. You are lucky to be one of the 5.4 billion other people who eat their Oreos this very same way. Just like them, you lack imagination, but that's okay, not to worry, you're normal. 3. Slow and Methodical. You follow the rules. You're very tidy and orderly. You're very meticulous in every detail with every thing you do to the point of being anal retentive and irritating to others. Stay out of the fast lane if you're only going to go the speed limit. 4. Feverous Nibbles. Your boss likes you because you get your work done quickly. You always have a million things to do and never enough time to do them. Mental breakdowns and suicides run in your family. Valium and Ritalin would do you good. 5. Dunked. Every one likes you because you are always up beat. You like to sugar coat unpleasant experiences and rationalize bad situations into good ones. You are in total denial about the shambles you call a life. You have a propensity towards narcotic addiction. 6. Twisted apart, the inside, and then the cookie. You have a highly curious nature. You take pleasure in breaking things apart to find out how they work, though not always able to put them back together, so you destroy all the evidence of your activities. You deny your involvement when things go wrong. You are a compulsive liar and exhibit deviant, if not criminal, behavior. 7. Twisted apart, the inside, and then toss the cookie. You are good at business and take risk that pay off. You take what you want and throw the rest away. You are greedy, selfish, mean, and lack feelings for others. You should be ashamed of yourself. But that's ok, you don't care, you got yours. 8. Just the cookie, not the inside. You enjoy pain. 9. I just like to lick them, not eat them Stay away from small furry animals and seek professional medical help - immediately. 10. I don't have a favorite way, I don't like Oreo cookies. You probably come from a rich family, and like to wear nice things, and go to up-scale restaurants. You are particular and fussy about the things you buy, own, and wear. Things have to be just right. You like to be pampered. You are a prima donna. There's just no pleasing you.
  21. Reaching the end of a job interview, the Human Resources Person asked a young Engineer fresh out of MIT, "And what starting salary were you looking for?" The Engineer said, "In the neighborhood of $125,000 a year, depending on the benefits package." The interviewer said, "Well, what would you say to a package of 5-weeks vacation, 14 paid holidays, full medical and dental, company matching retirement fund to 50% of salary, and a company car leased every 2 years - say, a red Corvette?" The Engineer sat up straight and said, "Wow! Are you kidding?" And the interviewer replied, "Yeah, but you started it."
  22. I'm glad my fellow nomads can appreciate an inspirational poem when they hear it. Thanks alot guys---- I'ma hit y'all up with another one. This one rite here makes me feel like I can handle anything life throughs my way. How could it not when you see what they've been thru.Hope it does the same for y'all. Enjoy! STILL I RISE You may write me down in history With your bitter, twisted lies, You may trod me in the very dirt But still, like dust, I'll rise. Does my sassiness upset you? Why are you beset with gloom? 'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells Pumping in my living room. Just like moons and like suns, With the certainty of tides, Just like hopes springing high, Still I'll rise. Did you want to see me broken? Bowed head and lowered eyes? Shoulders falling down like teardrops. Weakened by my soulful cries. Does my haughtiness offend you? Don't you take it awful hard 'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines Diggin' in my own back yard. You may shoot me with your words, You may cut me with your eyes, You may kill me with your hatefulness, But still, like air, I'll rise. Does my sexiness upset you? Does it come as a surprise That I dance like I've got diamonds At the meeting of my thighs? Out of the huts of history's shame - I rise Up from a past that's rooted in pain - I rise I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide, Welling and swelling I bear in the tide. Leaving behind nights of terror and fear - I rise Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear - I rise Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise I rise I rise. By: Maya Angelou
