C'mon now NG- it isn't in your best interests to align yourself with the geriatrics- haven't you heard that even men ayaa is yaraynaya these days? It's interesting that what began as a general comment has managed to upset certain people- i suspect that wax ayay isku ogyihiin. Habeen wanaagsan folks- can't undo 40 plus years of decay.
  2. Xiin, I'm not sure who you think i am the daughter of but that is irrelevant. I will however ease your mind and tell you that this discussion is the same one i have with some people with whom i share a qabiil with and like you, they put their little qabiil state ahead of the greater interest of all Somalis- this Xiin is the bottom line. As soon as one does this then yes, waxaa tahay a qabiilist, wear it with pride- at least you won't sound so contradictory. I find it amusing when you all point fingers at each other not realising that you are all exactly the same, lol. The sad part of it however is that your generation has infected the young.
  3. Mad Mullah- If we simply go by your posts in this thread I can bet any money that you have contributed more to the destruction of Somalia than I have. You and I are not the same- I’m just pointing out that people should just admit that all they care for is the prosperity of their area and stop this farce of Somalia. Xiin- emotional? Love it mate. I said it before and I’ll say it again, the qabiilist comments you spew on this forum Xiin is very unbecoming of someone your age and one who once would be considered an example to our youth. The only difference between you and the Mad one is that you put it a little more eloquently under the false mask of it’s politics dee. Alpha- I’ve decided that all Somalis are savages; I just prefer the ones that are transparent about their interests and who don’t hide between the Somaliweyn banner that they don’t even believe in. ElPunto- I have not made it a secret that I don’t like our current version of Federalism but I can see the merits of creating a system similar to that of Australia. Ultimately, all states here work towards a better Australia and Queenslanders do not begrudge Victorians (and vice-verse) other than in harmless banter on topics like sport and who has better beaches. There are nomads on this forum who are pro-federalism but they are genuine and it is clear from their posts that even though they may criticise the FG, they do so in the hope that it gets it’s act together and betters our people (Abtigiis comes to mind). My own husband is from JL (from Afmadow more specifically) and whilst he supports JL he does so so long as it is in the best interests of Somalia and does not lead to war. That said though, MOST don’t hold this view.

Mad_Mullah;962877 wrote: I was pro-Somali unity, I got very happy when many Somalis from Islii and South Africa decided to go back to Xamar, but then, slowly I noticed they all had the same accents and were from the same click. It has nothing to do with that. Folks should just be honest and upfront about their motivations. That's the difference between SL and people like you. At least they don't pretend- what you see is what you get. I actually prefer that than a housemate who is continuously wishing your destruction and working actively against you. That housemate should move out i say then waxaa isku soo haraya those who want to make it work.
  6. Mohammed- Now more than ever I'm certain that a unified Somalia is officially dead. I used to believe that it was 'old' people that destroyed Somalia and that our hope was with the 'young' and educated but it has become clear that they are far worse. I guess a university degree does not vaccinate you against ignorance and *********.
  7. N.O.R.F;960163 wrote: It seems as though Somalis, whether warlords, politicians or cyber lobbyists, do not understand the concept of compromise. Sadly that seems to be the case. Even sadder is that the current stale mate is between a man who is meant to be religious and one who is meant to be educated, yet neither is willing to compromise. Norf- they say vinegar and lemon juice get rid of leeches.

Discipline, great expectation, encouragements also help Whilst i agree that discipline, great expectations and encouragement do help, i don't believe that they are enough when living in the West. I acknowledge that living in a Muslim country (i use that label loosely) doesn't provide full guarantee that your children will not become ciyaal suuq but it sure does lessen the chance. Even more problematic with living in gaalo countries is that our children will forever feel different. I'm so sick and tired of being different and i certainly don't want my children feeling that way. I'd love their normality to be waking up to the adhan, dugsi as an everyday event, and eid as a major celebration. My son started kindergarten this year and already i have to contend with Easter and birthdays with parents who insist on drinking at every given opportunity. I envy those who live in Muslim countries (even Kenya and Ethiopia) and hope to some day soon inshallah be there myself.

  11. Thanks for the trip down memory lane guys- seems like a lifetime ago, running home so that i wouldn't miss captain planet's latest struggle against evil.

  14. ^ Fair point but i doubt that we can go by an unscaled drawing to tell us about the dimensions. Anyhow, one thing at a time- functioning government for one year. Nunne- you've probably never heard of him but the name reminds me of this morally bankrupt individual http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruslan_Kogan

  16. ^ Even if it is being newly built, i'm just impressed that such a building will end up existing in Somalia. They might be embellishing on the time frame but i hope that get there eventually. Rugsan? I can't say that i appreciate it, reminds me of a man i greatly dislike.

  18. ^ Seriously Nuune, is that what you took away from all that? I'm just amazed at what is being achieved in Somalia- kudos to those investing back home.
  19. ^ Educate yourself son but i suspect that you have an issue with Islam in which case you already know the historical context but choose to ignore it. Anyhow, Rumaysah- JZK for sharing:)
  20. ^ They're shameless walaahi- often times the second wife has to declare single mother status to get some extra financial support because he is unable to sustain both families. Somali men (and the wives) are the main culprits, you rarely hear of this in other muslim communities.
  21. ^ No Che, that is what Islam states. If you can't afford it don't do it. And believe you me, no man i've ever met can afford to maintain two households at a level which is considered average in western societies. Here in Australia we have a welfare system and men seem to think that because the government provides some financial assistance that they can afford to have two wives when in fact that is incorrect. Islam demands that a man works to provide for his family and not expect others (in this case the tax payer) to foot the bill.
  22. Good morning fellow nomads. Public Holiday today- ANZAC Day- commemorating the defeat of the australians at the hands of the turks in Gallipoli. That aside beautiful day mashallah.

How does a man in the UK manage to finance several households? http://www.newstatesman.com/lifestyle/religion/2013/04/what-kind-woman-willing-share-her-husband Interesting article although so much of it disgusted me. Kulahaa it's not about the sex, OF COURSE IT IS.In the case of Somali men, it's the sex and the potential of procreating like a rabbit. And another thing, news to me that the Quran 'instructs' men to marry more than one wife. As for the topic, to date i fail to understand the obsession with blaming women. It is the husband who needs to have loyalty to his wife- it is silly to expect loyalty from a person who has not made any commitment to you.

What's wrong with my being D-Hunter or !Selector or LongFoot or One-of-the-Sheikhs or Grave-Peeps? It is Allah who made me, just like the Prophet (SAW) was born a Quraish. It ONLY becomes a problem when it becomes a source of FALSE PRIDE (which is a grave sin in Islam); we are so and so, we are the best, we are noble blah blah... Isn't that what i was getting at? Somalis are incapable of separating qabiil and qabiilism- hence my use of the word synonymous. And thank-you for defining ageism and sexism, lol. As for the idealism vs realism argument- more often than not folks use it to justify their own qabiilism. All social ills are a reality and advocating for their eradication does not mean that one is being unrealistic- that is what any decent person should do. Making arguments for or even excusing qabiilism is only contributing to our further degradation- but i guess when you value your qabiil more than the collective interest of the Somali people that does not matter. Safferz- feel special sister, the boys club is clearly intimidated by you, they've even brought out their pom poms
