My family from Gaalkacyo (all sides) are entertaining.

Only a fool would do that. So do you believe that the man/husband has the final say despite undertaking a consultative process? Or is it more appropriate that on issues that a husband and wife disagree on they take the middle ground? The reason that i ask is because it seems that you guys are advocating for a dictatorial approach- the "yes i will consult her but ultimately she must remember that i wear the pants and i get the final say" kind of hadal.
  3. Haatu;980784 wrote: What rights do women lack in Islam? The problem in Somalia is lack of protection of women and their rights, not lack of rights. There's a difference. So haatu when you say men wear the pants what exactly do you mean? You don't think such language is against Islam? Do you not think that you are degrading women with such a statement? It's not exactly calling for what Islam teaches is it? Islam advocates a consultative approach to marriage and the household, not one based on dictatorial outlooks like "i wear the pants". Sure the husband may be the head of the household but not in the sense you boys are describing. Remember that one of the last warning of the Prophet s.a.w was to be mindful of the rights of women- be careful guys as our right to be involved in the decision making of our homes is one of our many rights. As for women in politics, even if we accept that such a political system is acceptable in Islam, the position the hadith refers to is that equivalent to the leader, not ministerial positions.

  5. ^ Why must you disrespect the sheep and goats? What have they ever done to you?

  7. Johnny B;974620 wrote: Why is Islamic clothing = Women clothing ? Muslim men are left behind Seriously dude, how ****** do you think we are? Like you care for Muslim men and the supposed lack of Islamic clothing options for them . If you were even the least bit sincere you'd do a simple a google search and get your answer. Lazy G- SOL is a forum for us to share information with others who may have the same interests as we do. Not every thread will appease all. If you are interested in Somali clothing, please feel free to start a thread about that. I initiated this thread because i happen to like those sites and some others may also like them. I initiated it with the intention of coming across similar sites that some other nomads, like Blessed, may know. I don't believe this would constitute as promoting other sites rather information sharing. As for the name change whilst i appreciate your order , i will not be changing the title of this thread, however, like i said feel free to start your own thread titled just that. In saying all that though I'm sure that is not the real intention of your crusade is it? Like JB, please look for a fight somewhere else, no takers here.
  8. ^ Don't you ever tire? Great documentary mashallah- wish the boys great success.

  10. Easiest Ramadan in Australia- only 12 hours fasting.

  12. Ramadaan Kariim fellow nomads- may we all have a blessed month.
  13. Juxa- there are so many threads/posts that offend my sensibilities. The number of sexist, qabiilist and/or islam bashing posts are getting out of hand. Stoic- not sure if i like that picture. I have heard of the failed expeditions of some nomads from the West but i've also heard of many success stories. Anyway, more interested in the lifestyle and security. Good evening all.
  14. I miss my moderator powers on SOL- would love to do a spring clean.
  15. Mad_Mullah;965954 wrote: Sayyid was a hero. Not just for Somalis but all Muslims. Only some people thought of him as a thief. Same people that were serving the British with pride and honour. Interestingly he was fighting gaalo invasion of our homeland yet you in another thread have stated: Mad_Mullah;965954 wrote: This evil cult has made life hell for Somalis, so it's a must we wage Jihad on them with our Christian brothers from Kenya and Ethiopia, because they with backing of the US must be looking out after the interests of the poor Somalis that Shabab oppressed. How do you reconcile the two? Waging 'Jihad' on fellow Muslims using the aid of your christian brothers? Are you going to use the Saudi excuse for backing the Gulf war?

Anyhow STOIC, sheeko ayaa noo socotay, please do provide us with more info on Kenya especially lifestyle, business and property.
  17. ^ I completely missed that he referred to them as gaalo- probably a good thing too, no need to continue after something like that. Miyir;965771 wrote: we are celebrating the end of murderous and evil cult. naxariis ku lahaa? you must be kidding hiding behind Islam to support such cult is no no. now i understood why you defended that evil aweys. Listen mate- shaqo yeelo please.
  18. Haatu- So they aren't Muslim? Even if we accept that they were/are like the Khawaarij, were the Khawaarij not allowed to pray in the Masjids? I feel as though we are treading on dangerous grounds fellow nomads. Unless you can unequivocally say that they had left the fold of Islam i'd say iska ilaaliya waxaan. It is shameful walaahi and mind you i've never heard of these men and my knowledge on Al Shabab is very limited but what i do know is that they have not denounced Islam as their diin.
  19. I haven't watched it and it really doesn't matter. Islam 101- all Muslims deserve upon their death that we say ilaahay ha u naxariisto no? If Abdullah Ibn Omar prayed behind Hajjaj Ibn Yusuf surely even if you can't bring yourself to say ilaahay ha u naxariisto, you can at the very least not comment. Celebrating the death of a fellow Muslim is wrong. But then again are you saying that they were not Muslim? Something is very wrong here walaahi.
  20. ^ Are you saying that they were not Muslim? That would be the only reason to not say ilaahay ha u naxariisto.
  21. ^ I've seen the last two on fb-very nice but they need more variety (which i guess will come with time).
  22. What are you guys celebrating? The death of qof muslim ah? Ilaahay ha u naxariisto labadaba.
  23. ^He obviously gave it a lot of thought, not 179 or 181, but exactly 180.
