All need to answer for their criminal enterprise but I understand we don't have the means and resources to do so. Having said that, I think we can start somewhere that this game of giving them a pass isn't gonna continue. I don't think that Somalis are ready to deliver justice. I don't see how starting with Aweys or any other member of Al Shabab will solve any of our problems- i fear that it will only lead them to become even more hardline and problematic. I don't want us to be another Afghanistan where ultimately the government will have no choice but to negotiate. Might as well do it now, use Aweys to bring them to the negotiating table and offer a deal of some sort so long as they become part of the legitimate political process (which stinks anyway but is at least better than absolute chaos). In saying that though I'm one of those who still finds it hard to swallow that a Somali would blow up a fellow Somali for 'jihad'. Anyhow it will ultimately be the US that will decide.

To be honest I will never forget the tear on KRudds face at that press conference with his family behind him, right after she stabbed him in the back. The people have never forgiven her for that and I think because of that, he might actually win. Me too. I liked Julia until then. Couldn't be happier to see the return of KRudd. My ideal political situation in Australia, KRudd beats Abbott in the elections and then he (the latter) is replaced with Turnbull
  3. Salaams Ladies, Just thought that we could share online Islamic clothing stores we might shop from. A few i don't mind: http://www.aabcollection.com/ http://www.inayahcollection.com/hijabs-all-hijabs-c-114_123.html?option=showall http://hijabhouseonline.com.au/ and let's not forget http://normode.com/
  4. I came in because i loved the actual milky bar kid ad, but since coming in I'm even happier- looks like labor finally have a chance. Have you seen the latest poll results? Krudd is ahead as preferred PM and labor is now only a couple of points behind the liberals
  5. Jacpher;965380 wrote: What difference does their reasoning makes if both are 'murderers' as you put in, at the end of the day. One killed for power, control or for food, the other did it for religious conviction or martyrdom, what difference does it make to the victims? My point exactly. In saying that though, do you think that we are in a position to be bringing anyone to justice? Once upon a time i used to think we could but since seeing warlords (not just in Mogadishu Jacpher) crowned with recognised power I'm now certain that will never happen.
  6. Miyir;965373 wrote: interesting answer! you don't like me point out the truth? I can't think any other reason why you will defend the kids killer? me think there is difference between warlord and maniac killers like aweys. That's because ma caafimaad qabtid. If everything you see is from a clan perspective then i expect you to come to that conclusion. MMA and I pretty much share the same viewpoint yet you seem to insist i must have this opinion because of clan. Again ilaahay ha ku caafiyo. On my post, I did not defend him just pointing out the obvious. There is a difference between warlords and 'maniac killers'? Thanks for the laugh son- love the language. Maalin wanaagsan- go find someone who will engage you on your level.
  7. As a child i used to wish for gold hair and lots of mangoes- very odd now that i think of it. Now, just to have all my loved ones with me.
  8. Miyir;965371 wrote: what a short memory when clans men is involved! forgive for what blowing up kids? Ilaahay ha ku caafiyo. I would engage you in a discussion but since you've decided to play the clan card I choose not to.

Kuwana waaba dhinteen as 'heroes.' Don't know about his politics but agreed on this part. If we can forgive mass murdering warlords (who I am certain have committed more crimes than any members of Al Shabab) and then award them with positions of power, surely the SFG can sit down and negotiate with Al Shabab? He might be extending an olive branch here, treat him fairly and perhaps the others will be more inclined to come out of the woods. Who knows, we might see a transformation of Al Shabab the way the Islamic brotherhood of Egypt did decades ago.
  10. I was just going with the flow- attacking NG for supposedly being elderly must mean that you are still in your youth hence the use of 'mischief'.
  11. Alpha- is it me or are you causing more mischief than usual maal mahaan. Salaams NG- Slow day at work?
  12. So many things to say but first and foremost: All is right with the world again folks- Kevin Rudd is finally back on top *dances with joy*.
  13. Juxa;964204 wrote: ^^ haahahaha it is ok to slip sometimes:) being faqiir is quite cool Like you would know what being faqiir is Juxa.....i've heard of your tastes NG- Your Somali has improved.
  14. ^ You too sure do say Hi to each other a lot.....i'm sorry, i couldn't resist . Stoic- since running my own business i've decided that life is much better as your own boss but i need to find a country with less taxes and less regulations. Don't belittle education though- at least you'll always have a fall back plan, that's how i view it. Juxa- yes, you are right *hangs head in shame* thank-you for the reminder
  15. NGONGE;964139 wrote: :D There is nothing wrong with having a big nose. I thought Somalis always praised a san dheer and what not. However, I hereby issue a full and unreserved apology for accusing you of having a huge nose (hope you enjoyed the wedding). I see you worked it out. Thank-you and yes i did Alpha- I'm done now.
  16. ^Just a little but don't worry we all share it. Anyhow, i also my own encounter with a rich somali from nairobi and boy is her house and neighbourhood beautiful. She lives in Hurlingham- the place looks better than most suburbs here- i could definitely see myself living there but i'd have to sell a kidney first.
  17. ^ I'm hoping that you'll see soon. I gave a clear directive earlier on......must be a busy day in the office.
  18. ^ Totally agree- got to that point three posts ago but i feel like Mr. Xiin is trying to paint a picture of my argument that isn't true. I just want him to know that i will never be sucked in by the dark side Anyway- i have other motives to keep this thread alive. Once i get it i can let it die.

  20. xiinfaniin;963305 wrote: At this point it is fair to say that you are resolved to see me as a qabiiliste . Though I am not concern with such a poor judgement of yours against my character, I attempted to educate you about what these discussions may or may not entail. My posts stand for themselves. And yes you are young and inexperienced relative to me; surely your hasty conclusions do nothing but attest to such a novice nature of yours (you have not taken the final vows of age:D ). One day you will find out arguing for federalism is not akin to qabiilism, speaking against the looted properties and those who still hold it is the right thing to do, and defending the territorial integrity of Somalia however impractical it may seem is still a good thing to do. But today is not that day , so go on and believe what you may Rahima. I do and i'm sure many other Somalis irrespective of age would agree with my assessment of your posts. All sane Somalis would agree that any looted properties should be returned but that isn't the point that you're making in your posts- you know that too. All sane Somalis would like to see a safe prosperous Somalia but i can't understand how that can be achieved when we are using a framework that perpetuates one of our biggest problems. I will never be convinced that the current interpretation of federalism (based along qabiil lines) is the way to go. I'll support it when Mudug is part of the one federal state or when pigs fly. Anyway- I've actually given up on a greater Somalia since seeing that even the young are supporting these qabiil states like they're supporting soccer teams.
  21. NGONGE;963241 wrote: Rahima, If you were waiting for your henna to dry then you must have lost use of both hands. If you lost use of both hands how in the world were you typing all of that? Aha, HUGE nose. You do realise that Henna can be applied however you wish don't you? I don't apply henna to my finger tips, or on my nails. I don't have it on my palms either, just the top part of the hand and half way to the elbow. So, Mr. NG i expect an apology..... Xiin, There is a big difference between playful banter and what you write in the politics section. If you believe that being a qabiilist is a repugnant characteristic to have then why act (write) in ways which would suggest that you are? At times your posts are very hateful and whilst i cannot ever know what is your heart, i can make conclusions about your values. To me qabiilism is not to simply to hate another person based on their qabiil but rather encompasses so many other actions/beliefs, such as to only concern yourself with the interests of your qabiil without giving much thought to how it would impact your brothers and sisters who are not of your qabiil. To me qabiilism is to make remarks which denigrate a persons qabiil. You seem to be making light of it but you regularly do all these and more- not to mention that you're always trying to sweep it off as an intellectual debate which is beyond the capability of an emotional young woman with very few neurons (all insults noted BTW). In saying that though Xiin, don't concern yourself with me- worry for yourself and all the young minds you may potentially pollute/ have polluted. If indeed you don't mean to come across as a qabiilist, let me tell you for the umpteenth time YOU DO. For your own sake wax iska badal- you seem to get worse with each passing moment. And i do think these discussions are useless- you and i have been going back and forth on the same things with no progress.
  22. Xiin, I regularly reassess myself and despite being many things, one thing i am certain of is that i couldn't give a rats behind about qabiil (certainly not as viewed by Somalis). As for my supposed inherent bias, I'm still not sure that i follow your logic. Like i said, many of those i share a qabiil with (that I've met) support the current interpretation of Federalism in Somalia, but of course like you and many others in the politics section they only do so when it benefits their qabiil interests. If they object to Federal states other than their own, again as many of you in the politics section do, they are really objecting to what they perceive as the advancement of the 'enemy' qabiil. Same Same. I don't oppose any specific qabiil states, i oppose them all so I'm not sure how you can misconstrue that as a bias? Anyhow, i limit my participation in the politics section because of these back and forth useless discussions. At this moment in our history, Somalis are sick and many of you in the politics section are adding to our illness. It would be nice if all of you grown men sought some help since you are polluting many young minds who read this forum. Let me know how you go with your reassessment and if you need help trawling the archives to pull out some qabiilist gems- I'm happy to help after the wedding.
  23. xiinfaniin;963080 wrote: Rahima, I believe you are from those who chased me twenty one years ago , (and that is not qabiilist comment). ps. Seriously , stop calling people qabiilist or at least do your homework and share what exactly do you mean qabiilist. I already provided you with one indicator- one you are guilty of. There is hope for everyone, reassess all your posts Xiin and tell me that they don't come across as qabiilist. NGONGE;963081 wrote: ^^ Rahima, I'm now picturing you with a HUGE nose. If I explain why you may think me mad. Too late for that but please do explain. Mad_Mullah;963096 wrote: Rahima, it's more likely that shabab will take over Somalia, link up with Al-Qaeda in Yemen and Iraq/Syria and Afghanistan and create a Caliphate than Somalis uniting for one country. This is reality. Internet dreams won't do much. That's because of people like you.
